“I boarded my dog for 2 weeks. Kwangwoo was very professional to work with and treated Chiffon very well. Chiffon is a picky eater, and he went out of the way to hand-feed her on her first night when she was too stressed to eat. Thanks a lot!”

“We had a great experience with Winn when he watched our dog, Sirius. He was really communicative and on top of everything, from the meet and greet to updates to drop-off/pick-up. He asked all the right questions to understand Sirius's needs and what would make Sirius feel most at home, and we felt really comfortable leaving Sirius with him. Sirius seemed to enjoy his time as well - we would definitely recommend Winn to others needing a dog sitter!”

“Christina was amazing! I booked last minute and she was eager to take care of Beru for the weekend. She sent lots of photo updates. Beru has some quirks and Christina was more than capable and happy to accommodate Beru’s personality. Would 100% book with her again!”

“Greta is an amazing dog sitter! She provided lots of updates every day, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog looked incredibly happy and well cared for throughout the stay. I would highly recommend Greta to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter!”

“Our pup, Reese, absolutely adored Maggie and had a great stay! Maggie was amazing with Reese, so patient with her picky eating style and getting dirty at the park. She also paired our pup with another sweet dog who was staying with her, so they had a nice doggy hangout all weekend. Highly recommend!”

“Alan and Ying are beyond attentive, made us feel very comfortable and confident when leaving our pup with them. Great communication across the board!”

Danielle put me and my anxious dog Josey at ease right away when we met her and her dog Moose. It is clear that Danielle loves dogs and is a skilled communicator with them. Josey enjoyed her weekend stay very much. Danielle sent updates and photos each day, and the drop off and pickup arrangements were easy. She is a great find!

Linda was just wonderful. We had a friend back out last minute watching Darla and we feel so grateful because it introduced us to her! Linda sent numerous updates and pictures throughout the weekend and it made us feel so comforted knowing she was in great hands. Darla came home so happy, in great spirits, and tuckered out from a great active weekend. We will absolutely book again! Thank you Linda!!

Winn was so fantastic with our dog, Giuseppe! He was very thorough during our meet and greet and took time to ask thoughtful questions to ensure he understood our dog’s routine and quirks. Victoria was a great caretaker for our dog, Murray. We will definitely book with her again!

After our initial meet-and-greet, I knew Mia and Taowei would take wonderful care of my mini goldendoodle. They asked all the right questions regarding his special diet, medications, and daily routine, which put my mind at ease. The daily updates and photos they sent while I was away gave me total peace of mind throughout my vacation. He came home happy, healthy, and clean. I am so grateful for their excellent care of my dog. Highly recommend!

Gustavo was absolutely perfect to watch my 9 month old puppy. He was intentional, caring, and had great communication. He took care of Remi under a last minute request and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Definitely recommend and will re-book when I can!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
