“Highly recommend Yasmine!! ❤️ She was amazing!! We got updates throughout our dog’s stay and pictures. She was quick to respond and very flexible. She went above and beyond for our pup.”

“Helen and Ji are so good with boy. They gave me videos and pics throughout the day. Cornelius came back running and playful, all the signs of a happy dog. They are my only doggysitters from now on!”

“Aly was extremely helpful when watching my cat. Made sure to keep me updated, even asked how often I’d want updates. Great environment for a dog or cat, accommodated all of my requests and I could tell my cat was happy and entertained there”

“Big thanks to Robert and Jen for taking care of Cheerio over the weekend. They are very kind hosts and love dogs. They sent photos of Cheerio playing, walking, chilling, we were so happy during our trip that he had lots of fun at Robert's home. We will come back for sure.”

“Yick-hong was FANTASTIC with Fiona! From the start, he was very communicative and thorough with the intake before the actual boarding. While Fiona stayed with Yick-hong, we could see that she was very comfortable and happy from her body language. He took great care of her, took her on scenic walks, played with her, pampered her - and even taught her new tricks! We are very happy that Fiona made a new friend, and would happily leave her with Yick-hong again. Fantastic sitter and companion”

“Sarah and family (humans and dogs) made my pup feel like family! He got to play and cuddle all day long and we got cute pictures throughout the weekend. They were patient with his puppy behavior and their love for dogs is so special! We will happily leave our pup in their care again!”

“Gina did a wonderful job taking care of Theo! I appreciated her communication and updates! It made me so happy to so see that Theo was content and comfortable with her.”

“We had an excellent experience with Pamela and Yocheved! Very kind people. It was also a plus that they have a fenced-in back yard. Their older lab, Jennifer, is the sweetest angel, too. We did a “play date” prior to our booking and our dogs got along great. We will definitely be rebooking again in the future!”

“Amazing experience boarding my dog. My senior dog is blind/deaf and was given wonderful attention. He had a huge fenced-in yard to explore at his own pace and I had regular updates with great pictures. I will book again if I need boarding, and highly recommend their services. Thank you for taking such good care of my little guy!”

“We left our 1.5-year-old Sheltie with Betsy for a long weekend and she was fantastic! Betsy responded quickly to questions, took our notes/suggestions into account during the visit, and sent us updates/pictures throughout the visit. Our dog came home happy, sleepy, and of course healthy!”

“Marissa was amazing with my playful adolescent pup! This was my first time using Rover, and she met with me ahead of time and answered all my questions to help me feel comfortable. She was flexible and a good communicator, and sent lots of photos. My dog came home tired and happy!”

“Steven was great with our dog. We boarded her with him for a long weekend She is a nervous girl and often barks at new people. When I dropped her off he took her leash and her treats and immediately got her to sit and calm down. During her stay with Steven he sent us photos, which I appreciate. When I picked her up she was in good spirits and wagging her tail which is always a good sign. We will definitely be using Steven's services again.”

“Isabella is amazing at taking care of Marvin and Mellow. We shared our concerns when it came to us being nervous but she gave us loads of reassurance and kept us up to date. This was our second time with her, and she was great! No complaints.”

“Zelun was so good with our dog. We will definitely be using zelun in the future. He sent lots of photos and had great communication. He also brought Iggy on many adventures each day like the park and nice walks!”

There will be tons of time for walks and belly rubs Pets are always around me when I care for them to make sure they’re safe. My apartment is clean and tidy. They receive tons of play time, walks, and cuddles :)

“Lyn is such a professional! She did a lovely job taking care of our little Yorkie for two nights. She even bought him a new toy for extra fun. Thank you so much, Lyn!!”
“The best experience I have ever had with a sitter! Christina was extremely flexible and communicative! She provided photos of our pup having the best time all weekend and frankly our dog was less than impressed with us when we picked her up. Will definitely be booking her again.”

“Elizabeth and Rodrigo took amazing care of our dog while we were away for 6 days. He’s getting older and can be a little anxious, but he was totally comfortable in their home. They sent us tons of photos too, which we loved since we missed him. I’d absolutely recommend them as dog sitters.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Newton Highlands
Katya was great! We had very specific requests and needs for our pup and were worried about leaving him. She was very detailed and made sure to ask many questions so she could understand what was required. She made us feel at ease and promised to take good care of him. She is supper friendly and clearly loves dogs. We got a few pictures and updates. As parents it’s never enough but if we had communicated she would have been happy to send more I am sure. He was healthy and very happy when we picked him up so a great stay. We would book again.

Eddy and team made this one of the best boarding experiences we've ever had. From the very first meet, it was obvious he genuinely loves what he does. He took the time to properly get to know Xena, our Doberman, understanding her personality and needs. Agreeing to a trial night first meant so much to us, it showed he wanted Xena to be comfortable, not just booked in. He picked her up and dropped her off himself, and throughout the day we were spoiled with photos and updates that had us smiling every time our phones buzzed. You could just tell Xena was happy and having the time of her life. Then our flight got delayed, and without missing a beat, Eddy offered to keep her an extra night, no fuss, no stress, just genuine care. That kind of flexibility and warmth is rare. We left feeling so grateful to have found him. Eddy isn't just a sitter, he's someone who treats your dog like family. We'll be booking with him every time, and we can't recommend him enough!

Adrienne is a wonderful dog sitter!! My dog Petey stayed with Adrienne for boarding and he was well taken care of and given lots of love! Adrienne is kind, caring, professional, and communicative! She shared updates and pictures all throughout his stay. I highly recommend Adrienne for pet care!

Natasha and Josh were great with Dino! They were very thorough when we met them during our meet-and-greet and immediately put us at ease. They sent lots of updates and even did extra indoor enrichment activities with Dino during a crazy heatwave. He had his own vacation while we were away!!

We had a wonderful experience! They took excellent care of our dog and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We really appreciated the frequent updates and photos—they kept us informed and reassured that our pup was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was clear our dog received lots of attention and affection throughout the stay. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter!

Holly took great care of my dog Koda! She was very sweet, understanding, and patient. I could tell she has experience catering the different dogs needs and personalities, and has the ability to accommodate them and make them comfortable. Koda is a little anxious, and I think she did great with him and made us both very comfortable! She was also very flexible when I realized I was arriving from my trip a little later than expected. Overall great experience, thank you Holly!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the care Michelle and her son extended to Clare. Michelle exuded confidence right off the bat as a pet lover. And when our flight was delayed, she was non-pulsed when we needed her to keep Clare for an extra, unplanned overnight. We look forward to calling on Michelle again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
