“Amy was absolutely amazing. She stayed with my two dogs for a week in my home. My dogs are wary of strangers and can be a bit finicky as a result (extra chatty, Velcro-dog syndrome at times), and Amy took it all in stride. She was a good communicator that provided regular updates, and my dogs were very obviously happy with her being there. Will absolutely book Amy again!”

“Emily was absolutely fantastic!! She took incredible care of my lab Dixie, sending me a pup-date every day letting me know how she was doing :) She also left my place spotless. I will definitely re-book Emily for future dog-sitting!”

“Colleen is fantastic! She is so considerate of my senior pup’s routine and always attentive to her diet and medication needs. Colleen also helped my very shy pup come out of her shell. And she sends super frequent updates and tons of photos. I’d trust her with my pup any time!”

“Caroline H. was great! I really appreciated that she reached out a few days in advance so I felt confident there would be no hiccups on the start date. I also appreciated that she stripped the bed and started the washing machine with her sheets and towels before we came home. She was understanding when, after the wedding, I was delayed and my brother and his wife arrived back at the house before me. But most importantly, I could tell she treated our dog well while were were away!”

“Victoria stayed at my house for 5 days and cared for my elderly cat, who needs daily medication. She sent frequent updates and photos and took great care of my dear Nanette. She left the house clean and neat. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again and recommend her highly.”

“I had a phenomenal experience leveraging Stacy for house and pet sitting. I knew from our first meet and greet she would be wonderful and she was! Stacy was thorough, patient, kind and organized. I look forward to using her services again.”

“Kathleen was wonderful house sitting for our cat and dog! We had a little bit of a last minute request and she was able to meet us the following day! She was very communicative and sent us plenty of pictures!”

“Laura was a fantastic sitter for our dog Porter. She asked a lot of great questions prior to taking care of Porter and sent many pictures and updates during her stay. Porter seemed to be very happy and comfortable with her around.”
“Sabina was wonderful! Made friends with our reactive dog very quickly! She also took care of him during a power outage, and we are so grateful. We came back to a happy and relaxed lil guy!”

“Traci is wonderful with our anxious dog—she stayed with her on two separate occasions, and was very proactive and communicative about how things were going. She also kept an eye on little things around the house and made sure everything was tended to while we were gone.”

“Kept a close eye on my elderly dog with a heart condition. When something looked amiss, she contacted my vet and took my dog to Angel Medical. Chloe's back home, looking good.”

“Maddie provided a safe loving environment for my little dog, Lucia! She also went beyond just taking care of her by sending me daily updates & photos- which made me very happy since this was the longest I'd ever been away from her. Maddie also helped out with moving cars due to some ongoing street work requiring them to be moved while I was away. Highly recommend her for your dog sitting needs!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our two dogs received! From the very beginning, Creddida was professional, communicative, and clearly experienced with handling multiple dogs at once. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which really made us feel relaxed while we were away. It was obvious our dogs were not only well cared for but genuinely happy and healthy! We highly recommend Creddida to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring dog sitter. We will absolutely be booking again!”

“10/10 experience! We needed a last minute sitter for our pets and we are very picky about who takes care of them. Hsiao-chia took our long instructions with such grace! Our pets loved her and she made sure to check in with us - easing my anxiety lol. We will certainly use her in the future!”

“Sarah was perfect for us! We have an elderly cat and dog and she catered to both of their needs and eccentricities so that we could go on a short trip without worrying about them. We will definitely be calling her back in the future!”

“Chloe was absolutely amazing! We did a meet and greet before the weekend, which really put me at ease. She was super attentive, stuck to my pups schedule and gave her all the cuddles she wanted. My pup is strong and has a few quirks, but Chloe handled everything with so much patience and care. She most certainly knows how to handle strong dogs & has knowledge with reactivity and redirecting. I came home to a happy, relaxed dog and I couldn’t be more grateful! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving sitter!”
“Very communicative and patient with our puppy! Also let our house in great shape. I felt at ease while traveling knowing Katherine was taking care of our puppy”

“Cynthia was a wonderful sitter! She took such good care of both our babies and our home. She even stayed longer when our flight was delayed! We will definitely have her back ❤️”

“Kristina is absolutely amazing. Truly. She stayed with my adult husky in my condo, and was just fantastic. Amazing updates, super kind and thoughtful. Highly recommended! Thank you, Kristina!!”

“Angie was absolutely fabulous with our pup! She was so caring, sent plenty of adorable updates, and treated Maisy like her own. It was clear our dog loved her, too! Without a doubt, we’d love to book with Angie again. Thank you for taking such great care of our pup and our apartment!”

Alex took great care of our Goldendoodle puppy, Charlie! He was very attentive to her schedule, our house training efforts, etc. It was also clear that he really loves dogs and shows them great affection. And he’s a great communicator — very responsive when we were trying to schedule this housesitting and also during the visit by sending pictures & videos.
Chloe was an incredible caregiver for my pup! She took care of her in the midst of a heatwave and as my pup is still potty training. Chloe gave detailed updates, filled with pictures and videos. It was so hard for me to leave my pup for the first time, but Chloe put my heart at ease. I give her my strongest recommendation!

Sher was an excellent caregiver to our dog, who is very clingy and needs a lot of attention. She stayed with her almost continuously while we were gone, took her on very frequent walks and they became fast friends! Sher was also a great house sitter while caring for our dog, caring for our plants and keeping our place safe and clean. We will use her again with great enthusiasm as our dog has now become attached to her too!

Colleen is fantastic! She is so considerate of my senior pup’s routine and always attentive to her diet and medication needs. Colleen also helped my very shy pup come out of her shell. And she sends super frequent updates and tons of photos. I’d trust her with my pup any time!

From start to finish, Avery provided excellent communication, keeping us updated and giving us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our dogs and took the time to make sure they were comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Our dogs absolutely loved her, and we could tell they received plenty of attention, affection, and care. Avery was reliable, professional, and thoughtful throughout the entire experience. We couldn't have asked for a better person to hang with our pups and would gladly recommend Avery to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pets. High recommend!
I would give 10 stars if I could. I went on a two week vacation and very anxious about leaving my two Maine Coons for such a long time. We had JB house sit and she not only took care of the cats but my many plants as well. I am so relieved to have her as a trusted care giver for my fur babies!

Michael took such good care of my dog, especially considering she had surgery a few weeks ago. He gave her medicine and did her physical therapy! He is also great about sending photos and updates, and even tidied my house a bit before he left. Highly recommend!!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,793 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newton Highlands. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newton Highlands walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newton Highlands maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newton Highlands choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
