“Zilalai once again did a fantastic job house/pet sitting my two cats for a week. I appreciate that she is reliable, follows the kitties’ usual routine, handles an occasional plumbing or a/c maintenance appointment, and leaves the house very tidy. Thank you, Zilalai!”

“Anna was great with Lucy! She was very communicative and flexible. When our flight was canceled she stayed an extra night to watch Lucy. We will definitely be using her as a dog sitter in the future!!”

“We were so reassured having Emily stay in our house with Lola while we were away overnight. She took great care of Lola and we won’t hesitate to call on her again in the future!”

“Kaitlin was such an incredible dog sitter! She met him for a meet and greet in advance of her house sitting and he took to her very well. She was so courteous and respectful of our home and really went above and beyond to clean up after herself. She sent me frequent updates and photos and was always easy to reach. I can’t recommend her enough, she’s the best sitter we’ve found on Rover!”

“K and Izzy were instant friends and from the pictures I received Izzy clearly had a ball (literally and figuratively)! K ensured she had a romp in a park, plenty of time to play ball and lots of attention and snuggles through her day. Izzzy was contentedly snoring in her crate when I returned home. Thank you, K!”

“Sabina was wonderful! Made friends with our reactive dog very quickly! She also took care of him during a power outage, and we are so grateful. We came back to a happy and relaxed lil guy!”

“Priscilla was very conscientious about understanding our dog, his personality and his needs while we were gone. This was very re-assuring to us that he would be in fine, capable hands! Everything went well and we would definitely recommend Priscilla and DogVacay to others! We are already looking at our calendar for future stays!”

“Victoria stayed at my house for 5 days and cared for my elderly cat, who needs daily medication. She sent frequent updates and photos and took great care of my dear Nanette. She left the house clean and neat. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again and recommend her highly.”

“Nina is a true 5 star sitter! Helped us out with a last minute booking, arrived early, asked all the right questions regarding Bella's care, and went above and beyone taking care of her. Strongly recommend!”

“Maddie provided a safe loving environment for my little dog, Lucia! She also went beyond just taking care of her by sending me daily updates & photos- which made me very happy since this was the longest I'd ever been away from her. Maddie also helped out with moving cars due to some ongoing street work requiring them to be moved while I was away. Highly recommend her for your dog sitting needs!”

“Stacy was superb! We had a last minute need due to our flight getting cancelled and Stacy was very communicative and flexible during a moment of a lot of stress. My pups were very well taken care of and I got lots of pictures. My house was well taken care of as well. Would definitely book her again in the future.”

“Cannot recommend Traci enough. She takes such great care of Sandy while we are away, and always sends updates and photos. It's so comforting to know that Sand is well taken care of and loved while we're gone. And, Traci goes above and beyond -- like taking Sandy for a very long walk right before we got home, knowing that our bodies were still on European time and we'd be exhausted by the time we stepped foot in the door.”

“Kristina did a fantastic job taking care of my 2 dogs and cat while I was away! Her detailed updates and myriad of adorable pics gave me confidence everyone was being very well taken care of while I was away. We'll definitely be booking Kristina again in the future”
“Nicole is great! I needed last minute overnight help over a holiday weekend and Nicole was about to accommodate my request. She shared lots of pictures during the 24 hr period.”

“Paige is absolutely wonderful and I am so happy to have met her! I think she is incredible and has a gift with animals and my pets did so well in her care! Romeo and Yoshi were comfortable with her right away and that really put me at ease. Paige provided multiple updates a day with lots of photos, it honestly feels like you're right there with them! My cat Yoshi can be a little sassy but I was so glad to see him get close and cozy with Paige and Romeo really took a liking to Paige and I'm sure he loved going on his walks! I would definitely recommend booking with Paige!!”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I was blessed to have grown up with a Golden Retriever, Hugo, and a Shih Tzu, Lilla. Both of those dogs were my best friends and I made so many memories with them. My love for animals allows me to offer personalized, attentive care with a focus on safety, companionship, and fun. I have experience working with small and medium dogs and am very reliable/communicative. Before each appointment, I always make sure to check in with each owner to find out more information about what the dog's specific routine and schedule is like. I am also very compassionate about animals and treat each client like they are my own pet. Lastly, I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate any last minute changes. I am very fortunate to work remotely full time so my schedule is very flexible. I have plenty of time during the day to go on walks and give the pups all of the love and attention they deserve. I live in a very dog friendly neighborhood that is surrounded by parks and green space. I also live on the third floor of a three family home that has an outdoor yard. Your dog will be very safe and well taken care of in my home.
“Anastasia was amazing with my 13-year-old labradoodle. Great communication and the best pics. So nice to have this confidence when I have to leave, knowing my dog is taken care of.”

“We were so happy to have Devika stay in our home with our dog Lucy while we attended a wedding! Devika was very responsive and sent lots of photos of Lucy which I appreciated. She was available on short notice and left our house in great shape. Thank you Devika!!”

Lian is fantastic! She is very experienced with dogs with anxiety and reactivity and has done so well with our pup Nyx. Lian is communicative and easy to work with. It was such a relief knowing our girl was happy and well taken care of while we were away. I cannot recommend her enough!

Frances is a very lovely sitter and person! She is very nice, responds fast, and sends great updates! I am very thankful for her care of my two senior pets and I felt at ease knowing they were under such good care while I was away back home. I highly recommend Frances and would absolutely book again. Thank you SO much!!!

Our first time using a sitter for our sweet boy! We were nervous at first to have a stranger in our home and with our Theo, but K put our minds at ease right away. After a successful meet & greet, K stayed the weekend at our place and watched our puppy. We got updates often, our Theo was happy and cared for, and we’ll definitely be using them again :)

We loved Jia! I have two labs, 8 and 13, with very different needs. Jia was great and took wonderful care of them. When we got home from our trip, our dogs looked a little disappointed to see us (which is how I know they've had a good time). Jia was super thoughtful about their care, sent regular updates, and made me feel completely at ease about being away from my dogs. Definitely will be asking her to watch after our pups again. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Kristine is an amazing pet sitter! She has watched our dog and two cats, all of whom are older and require medications, multiple times and she always does a wonderful job. The pets love her, even our shy tortoiseshell. Kristine is wonderful with our older, diabetic dog, Elsie, who needs a lot of extra care, both in terms of her medications and emotional support! :) The house is always immaculate when we get home too. Thank you, Kristine!

Rachael was wonderful! From taking our booking, to the tour, to sending calm updates and handling our crime-committing dogs with grace, we appreciated Rachael’s work! Also, there was no hesitation about giving meds and keeping an eye on our epileptic large dog.

Ria is fantastic. I have a very nervous dog that Ria was willing to work with for weeks before dog sitting. She was able to win her over and is now on a very short list of people my dog accepts! It was a gift to be able to go away and relax knowing our pets were well taken care of. She did an amazing job taking care of our house and pets. I feel so fortunate to have met her!

We used Nicole again to care for our two small Maltese dogs while we were away on a two-week vacation in Europe, and she was absolutely wonderful! She is incredibly caring, responsible, and attentive, and we felt completely at ease knowing our dogs were in such good hands. Nicole provided us with daily updates and photos, took them on walks every day, and gave them plenty of love and attention. When their tummies were a little upset, she even made them rice and took extra care to make sure they were feeling better. One of the biggest reasons we love having Nicole stay with them is that our dogs can remain comfortable in their own home, where they feel safe and aren't stressed by being in an unfamiliar environment. She took wonderful care of both our dogs and our home. Being so far away for two weeks, we couldn't have been more relieved knowing they were happy, comfortable, and getting all the attention and care they needed. We came home to two very happy pups! We would absolutely recommend Nicole and wouldn't hesitate to have her care for our dogs again. Thank you, Nicole! ❤️

J was amazing with our boy Chase. We chose her for her obvious experience with cats and administering meds. She updated us every day with pics and notes and was able to attend to him when his eye condition acted up. We felt so comfortable leaving him in her excellent care. He took to her right away❤️ We will absolutely be contacting her again in the future!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Brighton on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brighton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brighton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brighton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brighton. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
