“Alana was great! Leo enjoyed his time with her. She was great with following Leo's routine, feeding him, taking him outside, and wiping his feet after getting caught in some rain!”

“Emily was wonderful with our 10mo puppy, giving him attention and providing enrichment throughout the day, taking him on his midday walk and feeding him lunch. We came home to a happy, wriggly, sleepy puppy. Emily also left the sweetest report card and polaroid shot of Kiwi at the end of the day :)”

“Anastasia is great! She is communicative, trustworthy, and even brought in a package for me. We could see through photos that Mocha loved Anastasia’s company and we knew she was being really well taken care of while we were away.”

“Stacy was superb! We had a last minute need due to our flight getting cancelled and Stacy was very communicative and flexible during a moment of a lot of stress. My pups were very well taken care of and I got lots of pictures. My house was well taken care of as well. Would definitely book her again in the future.”

“K and Izzy were instant friends and from the pictures I received Izzy clearly had a ball (literally and figuratively)! K ensured she had a romp in a park, plenty of time to play ball and lots of attention and snuggles through her day. Izzzy was contentedly snoring in her crate when I returned home. Thank you, K!”

“Madison did an awesome job caring for our JoJo. This was our first time having someone stay at our house for an extended period of time and it worked out perfectly. Madison sent us daily updates with pictures, which put us at ease. She left the house spotless and we know JoJo was well cared after. We highly recommend Madison!”

About: Hello! I love animals so so very much and would never let harm befall them. I get "They're never this good around strangers!" a lot as well. I'm especially good with easily spooked pets I make and sell crystals and jewelry, so my schedule is flexible and I'm available during most "normal working hours" I'll have lots of time for your pets We have a fairly spacious apartment with a backyard for hosting, and if I'm petsitting at your house I'll follow your instructions to the letter
“Raul has stayed with our cat, Flopsi, twice now. I can happily say my cat and I were comforted by the care and attention Raul showed him over both visits. Raul has a gentle, calm nature that helps put even a nervous boy like my Flops at ease. Raul also took great care of our home, keeping it clean and tidy. We’re so happy we found such a reliable, responsible sitter for Flops. We already plan to have Raul back for a longer stay during an upcoming trip.”

“Paige was excellent. She sent pictures everyday. My husband and I had to go away to deal with some family issues and it was nice to be reassured that our furry loved ones were safe and cared for. We have a sometimes cantankerous cat (don't we all) that warmed up to Paige. Our Border Collie mix was exercised and happy. All was well and stress free.”

“Julia W. was great with our exuberant goldendoodle, Jake. She clearly loves animals, and has excellent experience with dog care and training. Jake was busy each day with multiple walks, playtime, and then some nice down time. Julia communicated well, sent us pictures, was very responsive. We knew that our dog was in great hands. Thank you so much!”

“Ailise did a wonderful job housesitting with my cavapoo Freddie over the long weekend! She sent great updates, videos, and photos of my boy, and I felt confident that he was safe in her care. She left my apartment in great condition. I highly recommend Ailise and would definitely book with her again! Thank you :)”

“Victoria did a great job with Freya (who can be very shy and anxious with new people). She kept me updated with pics and texts throughout the session. I would definitely trust her to watch Freya again!”

“Cynthia is amazing! She took such great care of our pups, even when they got sick. Everything was so well taken care of and she has excellent communication! We will definitely have her back.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Chestnut Hill
Sher was an excellent caregiver to our dog, who is very clingy and needs a lot of attention. She stayed with her almost continuously while we were gone, took her on very frequent walks and they became fast friends! Sher was also a great house sitter while caring for our dog, caring for our plants and keeping our place safe and clean. We will use her again with great enthusiasm as our dog has now become attached to her too!

Gabriel was great. He gave constant updates, our cats were extremely happy with him and he asked great questions to make sure everything went smoothly. When we got back from our trip our house looked as though no one was even there. He kept everything so clean. Would highly recommend for in home stay or visits.
Olivia took wonderful care of our dogs, Bruiser and Max, this weekend! She was incredibly responsive from start to finish, communicated consistently, and sent frequent updates with photos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our pups were happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. We really appreciated how attentive and reliable she was, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend Olivia to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!

Grace did a wonderful job taking care of our dog Mochi overnight. Mochi is a rescue who is anxious around strangers and easily frightened by almost anything, so we always feel a little bad leaving her with a sitter. Grace was so kind and gentle with her. We also really appreciate the effort she put into making the whole process smooth and easy for us.

Emily was fantastic! She took care of our brand new puppy over the course of a long weekend — definitely a pretty big ask for a dogsitter! Emily handled everything (instructions about crate training, feeding, etc.) with ease. She was super communicative; had a calm, confident manner; and obviously takes a lot of joy out of being with dogs. We loved getting our daily “pupdates” and knowing that Charlie was in such good hands.
Colleen is fantastic! She is so considerate of my senior pup’s routine and always attentive to her diet and medication needs. Colleen also helped my very shy pup come out of her shell. And she sends super frequent updates and tons of photos. I’d trust her with my pup any time!

Susie took phenomenal care of our pup! Her communication was fantastic. She sent lots of pictures ☺️ and she left the house absolutely spotless. We were very anxious to leave our pup with anyone other than family for the first time, but I genuinely felt comfortable knowing Susie was caring for her. Thank you SO much!!! We will definitely be reaching out in the future!

Kira was absolutely amazing! I was going away for a week, and I was worried about leaving my kitten alone, as he needs medication. She was great at giving him his doses, and also updating me on him and my other two cats. I was reassured with her watching after them, and she updated me regularly! I'd love to book with her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Chestnut Hill on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,730 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Chestnut Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chestnut Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chestnut Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chestnut Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chestnut Hill. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
