“Claudia watched Nora for a weekend and made us feel completely comfortable! Nora is a puppy and needs a ton of attention. Claudia kept us up to date (tons of pics) and made us confident Nora was being well taken care of. We will definitely book again!”

“Ella is amazing. She takes amazing care of our dog Chessy. She updates us consistently and we 100% trust her with longer stays to keep him safe and happy. She’s the best!”

“Sarah provided phenomenal house sitting care for our anxious dog. She was very reliable and responsive and calmed our nerves with multiple photos and updates throughout the week. Highly recommend!”

“Victoria stayed at my house for 5 days and cared for my elderly cat, who needs daily medication. She sent frequent updates and photos and took great care of my dear Nanette. She left the house clean and neat. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again and recommend her highly.”

“Danielle was great! She shared great updates and pics of kuzco while we were traveling and it was clear how much she cared about him being comfortable and having a good time with her!”

“Our dog, Toby, LOVES when Bridget comes over to stay with him. They had a great long weekend and she made sure we had updates and pics along the way. She gave him watermelon snacks, walks around the neighborhood, and hung out with him in his favorite sun spot on our deck. We always trust her to care for our Toby. :)”

“Mirabel always sends great updates and photos! She has taken care of our dog and 2 cats a couple of times, and they are always happy and healthy when we return!”

“If we could give Yanira 10 shining stars, we would! Yanira took exceptional care of our sheltie Pepper in our home. Yanira arrived on time, which we appreciated since we had a plane to catch. Yanira sent regular updates and photos, and when we returned from our trip, Pepper was happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. Our house, BTW, was immaculate. Yanira has our highest recommendations, and we will definitely be using her again. Thank you, Yanira!!!!!”

“We had a great experience with Jess! She stayed with our cats for two weeks and was very responsive and communicative throughout our trip, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. She took great care of both our home and our cats, and they were happy and relaxed when we returned. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter, and I wouldn't hesitate to book her again in the future.”

“Emily was wonderful with our 10mo puppy, giving him attention and providing enrichment throughout the day, taking him on his midday walk and feeding him lunch. We came home to a happy, wriggly, sleepy puppy. Emily also left the sweetest report card and polaroid shot of Kiwi at the end of the day :)”

“Connor is great! She’s super responsible and attentive. She watched my two older dogs while I was gone on a business trip. She got nightly updates and left everything looking great.”
About: I am a lifetime pet owner to a dog and cat, Truffle and Izzy. Aside from growing up with animal siblings, I have also worked as a dog walker, for large dogs, a doberman named Zeke, and small puppies, a Portuguese water dog named Cleo, and a range in-between. I have also house sitted for dog and cat owners. I am a college student waiting for the fall semester to start back up again, so I am largely free! I am an early riser so getting those morning walks is no probably! As well, I am available for boarding most days of the week. At home, I am all about playing and hanging out with my dogs and cats. Being with animals all my life has allowed me to know when things are getting too rowdy or when a dog or cat just wants some space. I'm all for fun and games unless there are rules that need to be followed. A counter that is off limits, section of house, or a specific nighttime routine, and I am not playing around but being stern yet gentle.
“Katherine was fantastic watching our two mini dachshunds. We got pictures every day, she walked them daily and sat in our fenced backyard with them, and was all-around reassuring. She clearly loved being with the dogs, and the dogs loved her (lick attacks when she came to meet them proved it!). She stayed in our home and left it perfectly clean. Highly recommended, and we will look to Katherine first for sure the next time we are away!”

“Sara was great! She responded on short notice and agreed to watch our dog over thanksgiving weekend. We have an older, large Rottweiler with some special needs and Sara couldn't have been more accommodating. She was communicative and took great care of our house as well! Our dog had a great time with her - would highly recommend to anyone!”

“Anne was very patient and understanding as my need for a dog sitter was due to a family emergency, and I was quite stressed. She kept in touch, shared pictures, and responded to my texts in a timely fashion.”

“Ailise did a wonderful job housesitting with my cavapoo Freddie over the long weekend! She sent great updates, videos, and photos of my boy, and I felt confident that he was safe in her care. She left my apartment in great condition. I highly recommend Ailise and would definitely book with her again! Thank you :)”

“Belen is a phenomenal pet sitter! She watched Bocce for a week+ while I was visiting family in California. Because Bocce has epilepsy, finding the right care is crucial, and she handled his strict medication schedule flawlessly. Belen exceeded all expectations. She was diligent, communicative, and incredibly caring. I could actually enjoy my trip knowing Bocce was in safe hands. Thank you, Belen!”

“Kristina did a fantastic job taking care of my 2 dogs and cat while I was away! Her detailed updates and myriad of adorable pics gave me confidence everyone was being very well taken care of while I was away. We'll definitely be booking Kristina again in the future”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Roslindale
Once again Marilyn has done a superb job staying over and taking care of my cat kids. She does the essentials, of course, but also engages them in a lot play as evidenced by the pictures she sends each day. It is clear that my cats really like her, and Marilyn remains my go-to sitter.

Stacy was a pleasure to work with! She spent so much time with me during the meet and greet, making sure she understood the needs of my two Bengal boys. She did a great job taking care of them while I was away. One of the boys had just had an injury before I left and she was so attentive, making sure I got pictures of the wound to make sure everything was ok. She was great at sending pics in general, which was wonderful. Highly recommend Stacy!! I've already booked with her again :)

Lindsay took such great care of my cat Naomi! She was extremely professional and responsive, and she was so helpful even with some very last minute changes/housesitting needs that I was stressing over. Also had no trouble administering Naomi’s medication and was so attentive to her daily routine. I really appreciated all the detailed updates and cat pics!! I would happily have her catsit for us again :)

Julie is an incredible sitter - our favorite Rover experience we've ever had! She house/dog sat for us for 4 days and provided very frequent and descriptive feedback each visit and took such fantastic care of our pups. She went above and beyond in helping us deal with a traumatic incident that occurred prior to the sitting. She also had to clean up a poop explosion (sorry!!) and then provided poop reviews for the rest of her stay, something I very much appreciated as a worrier dog mom. Cannot recommend her highly enough! Also her photos were wonderful. Thank you a million Julie, we will be in touch again soon!

She was great as a sitter and made me feel very comfortable leaving my 4 year old Lab. I came home to a happy and healthy pup and a clean apartment! She even took my dog on fun trips to the Boston Commons and sent pics and videos of their outings. Would highly recommend =)

Victoria was great with my cat, and I appreciated her genuine enthusiasm and attention to detail in making sure he received proper care since he’s a senior kitty. She sent us cute photos and was also a good house guest, as we needed her to stay overnight for a few days!

We had a great experience with Jess! She stayed with our cats for two weeks and was very responsive and communicative throughout our trip, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. She took great care of both our home and our cats, and they were happy and relaxed when we returned. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter, and I wouldn't hesitate to book her again in the future.

I cannot say enough great things about the exceptional care and love my pup received in Jesse’s care. This was the first time we traveled without our high activity, people-needy 18 month old pup so my anxiety was high. Jesse went above and beyond, caring for Willow in her home and making her part of the family. Daily updates with pics and videos assured me that Willow was enjoying her vacation too. I could not imagine better customized care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Roslindale on Rover is $73.26 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,741 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Roslindale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Roslindale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Roslindale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Roslindale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
