“Lucy did a great job watching Chica and Benji! She did everything we asked and the pets were super happy when we came home with no accidents anywhere! We will 100% reach out to her again.”

About: I have taken care of dogs during trips and overnight visits, feeding, playing with, and walking them. I love spending time with pets and am open to caring for any type of dog. I’m currently looking for temporary work and have a lot of free time! Available for day visits as well as overnight, whatever is needed. I am a gentle and adaptable animal lover and I enjoy playing with, caring for, and spending time with dogs and cats of all kinds.
About: I became a dog lover 15+ years ago when my family got our first dog, Sir. Since then, I’ve loved dogs and have become the person friends/family/coworkers turn to do dog sitting. I’m a Nurse in Boston and have a fluctuating schedule but would love to fit in some walks or boarding when I can! I miss having a dog of my own in my life so taking care of yours I will treat it as my own! Also even though I am at work, my roommate also loves dogs so would be home with them while I’m at work until I come home so their needs during the day would be taken care of! My boyfriend has a cat that is 6yo and she is very chill/sweet but more of a scaredy cat who likes her own private space away from everyone. If a dog or another cat were to approach her she would most likely just hiss and move on about her day so a dog who is friendly towards cats/doesn’t care is perfect! I work full time and can be home by 3/3:30 unless working an off shift. On weekends I have the most flexibility and on some weekdays after 3p I would be able to do walks or drop ins. I have a male roommate that WFH and loves dogs so he would be home with them while I am away during the day so they’re never fully alone unless he’s in office that day! I’ve taken care of many of my family/friends dogs and I tend to like to stick to the schedule they are used to at home to help alleviate any stress that comes with a new environment. I have experience in giving medication to dogs including oral, IM, IV as well. I do now have a 6yo cat so want to make sure they are comfortable around a cat who is very chill and reserved.
“Thank you, Jennifer!! It was so great to meet you and have you watching Rue. It definitely put our minds at ease knowing that she was in your care. Thank you for all of the photos during the week as well. I always looked forward to them.”

“Lindsay was incredible with Sunny. She was very thorough during the meet and greet. She gives detailed updates with great pictures. Overall she goes above and beyond. I would definitely recommend.”

“These gals are amazing! My puppy loves them. They always leave a great review of their tone with Cai, and the best pictures. Thank you Meagan and Morgan loving my pup and taking such good care of him!”

“Meg was amazing! She stepped in last minute, was responsive and reliable, and clearly cares about the dogs. She asked great questions, sent updates and videos during her visits, and gave me total peace of mind. I’ll definitely book her again.”

“Ann-Marie did a wonderful job taking care of our 10-year old Bernese Mountain Dog, Zeus. She stopped by to walk and spend time with Zeus three times a day for almost a week and provided helpful updates throughout. She was really great!”

“Our second time using Kristen’s services to take care of our dog. She’s super informative about what’s going on during the stay and Sends lots of pics.”

About: Hi! I'm a recent graduate who lives with a senior cat; I have a lot of experience with senior pets, special needs pets, medication administration, etc. I'm able to exercise with and play however your dog likes! I've been pet sitting and walking dogs for my friends and family (and Wag!) for over a decade (dog in the profile picture is my brother's dog Kuma!) Pets bring me so much joy and I want to help take care of them as a community effort :) I'm here to build trust, please ask any questions 🫰 I am a gig worker currently, therefore very flexible—request me and there's a high chance I'll be available! I'm around weekends and weekdays, my own cat has plenty of alternate caregivers. I would not be able to host pets in my home, but would follow any rules at clients homes to make pets feel safe and regulated :) consistency helps them and me!
“This was the second time Julie watched my cat Nani, and she was just as amazing as before. She’s easy to communicate with before and during. I came home to a very happy cat! Also, the photos she sends are so good :)”

About: I have done a lot of animal sitting since I was in high school looking after my nieghbors dogs and cats when they were away. I am a huge animal lover but I am best with dogs and cats. Before I went to college my nieghbor had just bought a puppy and we had just got a cat, I trained the cat and I did most of the dog walking for the puppy. Being able to play and care for animals is the best job I can think of. I can’t wait to meet your fur baby! I would love to be able to work with familiar clients and their animals. I provide over night pet sitting services, dog or cat walking, and drop in’s. I can take care of your fur babies Friday to Monday, for anything outside that time I may have availability, so just ask! I work a full time job 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday. I typically go off the rules you lay out for your pet along with their usual routine. I want to make things as easy as possible for you and your pet. If you have a list of dietary restrictions or medication they need to take, I’m happy to learn as well as get them the care they need. If they have a specific dinner or walk time, I want to make sure I stick to it for you.
About: Along with growing up having two large dogs and walking them every day, I have been taking care of cats since I was 14 years old! I’ve helped with training my own puppy and have cat-sitted for young, old, and even diabetic little guys. I am about to begin Graduate School to be a Librarian at Simmons College and have time before and after my classes throughout the week. I love all animals and am happy to play and run with them outside. They will feel nothing but love and care from me when we spend time together outside or in your home!
“I was initially super anxious about using this service, but Stephen put my mind at ease with incredible care, kindness, and communication. Amazing sitter, went above and beyond. Thank you!!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Roslindale
Dominique was very kind and helpful with the cats! I hate leaving them, but Dominique sent lots of pictures and made sure they were well taken care of! She always came right on time and stayed to make sure the cats had enough play time. Overall, a fantastic cat sitter!

As always Julie is amazing! Our shy boy Marzipan has grown to absolutely love her. We have since gotten a new kitten, and she did great with him. He spent his visit playing and snuggling with her. Julie is very detail oriented and always makes sure we know any important information and genuinely cares about the job she’s doing to keep our pets safe and happy.

Jadeth and Noah have been great when watching Oreo! Both times they did me a huge favor of checking in on him while I was away. Doing everything I asked, and showing a lot of care with socialization. He can be shy, so it is always a good sign when he is very affectionate with people watching him!

This was my first time using Rover, and I had a great experience. I was away from my cat for four days and was quite worried at first, but I soon felt relieved knowing she was in such good hands. He took great care of her, kept me updated, and made me feel comfortable while I was away. My cat warmed up to him very quickly and clearly enjoyed spending time with him, which meant a lot to me. I really appreciate the care and attention he gave her, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roslindale. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
