“Thank you! Cindy (Shuhua) took care of my dog, who has complex health needs and takes medication 3 times a day. She was responsible and patient as I went over all my dog's care instructions and vet information. She sent regular photos and updates, and was careful to monitor for changes in my dog's health/behavior and report back to me. I am a devoted dog mom, and it's very important for me to have a sitter I can trust to take care of my dog properly so I feel comfortable being away. Cindy was just as wonderful as I had anticipated! Plus, she's a great baker! I will reach out again in the future for my pet care needs :)”

“Alex is the best! My dog has been sick and Alex took good care of her and was attentive. My dog was on meds & she made sure she took her pills. Strongly recommend Alex!”

“We feel so much at ease when we leave our dog with Oscar and Gaelle. They always send us cutest video updates. We tried 3 other sitters on Rover when Oscar was not available , each time our dog had diarrhea after we picked her up (either stress related or elsa ate something she shouldn’t eat) . Never had a problem when Elsa stayed with Oscar. Looked always happy and healthy.”

“Zwany & Leandro were absolutely amazing with our puppy, Bambi! It was our first time boarding her, so we were a little nervous, but Zwany made the entire experience so smooth and reassuring. She sent constant updates along with pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Bambi clearly had the best time - her days were packed with activities and she was so loved and cared for by Zwany and her family. It honestly felt like Bambi had her own little vacation while we were away. We’re so grateful for the care and attention they gave her and would recommend them 100% to anyone looking for a loving and attentive dog boarder.”

“Our dog had a great time with Dan and his dog Annie. We were able to drop her off pretty last minute too so I couldn’t recommend Dan enough if you need a dog sitter!”

“Lorena and her boyfriend took great care of my boys. They were more than willing to provide the extra care and attention my 16 year old senior dog needs and extra exercise for my younger, more energetic dog. I would highly recommend Lorena for any of your dog care needs.”

About: Hi there! I’m Marilyn, a lifelong animal lover and proud dog mom to two pups of my own ♥️ Because my dogs struggle with separation anxiety, I understand how important it is to have someone patient, attentive, and trustworthy caring for your pet while you’re away. I treat every animal as if they were my own and I genuinely believe pets deserve love, attention, and care. Whether they enjoy long walks, playtime, extra cuddles, or simply having a calm and reassuring presence around, I’m happy to follow their routine and your preferences. I work from home most of the time, which gives me flexibility throughout the day and allows me to be responsive and reliable. I’m also happy to provide updates, photos, and plenty of communication so you can have peace of mind while your pet is in my care. My goal is to make sure your furry family member feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away 🐾 I work from home 90% of the time and have lots of flexibility during the day. I can give advance notice on days I’m not physically available. I believe pets thrive when they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a way that’s familiar to them. When caring for pets in their home, I try to follow their established routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special instructions. I also make sure pets receive plenty of attention! 😊 As a pet owner myself, I understand how important communication is, so I am happy to provide updates and photos for peace of mind.
“Erin was the best! She was flexible and great with communicating. She even updated me with cute pictures and videos everyday. My dog Bash had a great time, I’d definitely recommend!”

“Maggie did a great job. I can always tell when my dog is happy, and for a minute there I thought she didn't want to leave! My dog is elderly so she needs a little extra attention but Maggie took care of her very well. I strongly recommend this Rover-er”

“Zarah is amazing!! My dog (Monty) is a quirky boy with lots of anxiety. Zarah was immediately attentive, empathetic, and understanding :) She truly cared about learning everything about Monty and how best to care for him, and she sent tons of pictures and updates! I trust Zarah implicitly and know Monty is in great hands with her. He felt at home right away, and he will be happy to see Zarah and Honey again soon :)”

“I can’t say enough about the care Bailey received while we were away. I never for a second doubted he was having a great time and being taken in as a member of this family. Thank you so much!!”

“Wonderful experience. Sarah took in our two pups on a last minute booking for the weekend, made sure she had all the details about their care, and sent pictures of how well they were doing. We were confident they were in good hands.”

“Brooklynn and Adam are amazing!! My dog is anxious and leash reactive, but he had no problems staying with Brooklynn. She made sure to walk him in quiet areas during less busy times, and her home is quiet and peaceful, which I'm sure helped Monty a ton. She had no problem giving him two different medications every morning, and he got so much love all weekend. We got so many pictures of Monty snuggling with Brooklynn and Adam - so cute! It was like he went to the spa for the weekend - we would love for her to watch Monty again!”

“Just moved to town and started having Krystal & William watch Thor. This was only his 2nd time with them, but he LOVES his home away from home! Got tons of pics and vids of him playing and being pampered while I was away. Would definitely TRUST them anytime with him. And absolutely recommend K&W to any friends/family.”

“Tyler was great to Coco! He helped her become part of the pack he was watching and kept me well informed. She was so exhausted after her stay- like she just got back from summer camp!”

About: I have one dog and have fostered over a dozen others, including various breeds, sizes, and personalities. I have experience working with super energetic dogs and reactive dogs and love training! I am home for the summer, and I am available all day, because I am working from home! My schedule is very flexible so let me know what works best for you :). Safety is always my number one priority. I have lots of experience reading animal behavior. Please tell me what I should know about your pets or before coming to your home, and if there are any precautions you would like me to take in order to keep your pets happy and healthy! I will always keep dogs on leash, and keep water and treats with me. Will send updates and picture/videos too!

Zarah is very attentive to my dog Wolfie. He’s got some real separation anxiety, and that in turn gives me anxiety when I have to find a new sitter. Zarah wanted to learn about all the little things she could do to make Wolfie feel safe and at home while staying with her. She even set up a Google form to fill out to learn more detail about wolfie’s behavior and preferences before we did our meet and greet, where I quickly felt great about booking with her. Her dog honey is very sweet! Highly recommend.

Meg was so amazing caring for my cat Dumpling!! I was in between apartments moving from NYC to Boston over Labor Day weekend, and I am so thankful to have found Meg to house Dumpling for a few weeks. She was so communicative and sent me lots of pictures! Super flexible for pickup and drop off and provided the best care for Dumpling during a stressful time! I will absolutely be using her again in the future!!

Our dog Breezy seemed to enjoy her stay and we’d book with Tauryn again! She was a good communicator, followed our instructions, and she sent photos each day. From the initial visit, Breezy seemed comfortable with her and her house, which doesn’t happen with all new people.

Julie was the absolute best! Our dog Buck is home, happy, clean and clearly enjoyed his time. Julie is responsive and sent so many photos and updates. Our kids were so happy to know our pup was well cared for while we were away. We will absolutely be using Julie again!

Highly recommend Mokeisha to watch your pups!! She was a fast communicator, reliable and took excellent care of our two dogs!! She sent lots of photos of them while we were away and was accommodating to their unique routines. She was also really understanding and comforting to our pups while they had some separation anxiety which was extremely comforting to us. Thanks Mokeisha! We will absolutely leave our dogs with her again.

So glad that Lauren is back on Rover. Sierra remembered her, and I think it must have been 4 years since her last stay there. From the second she got out of the car, she was excited, and by the time we got to the sidewalk up to the door, she was wagging her butt off, so excited to be back. A great stay!

ARIANNA ROCKS!!!! Not only did she renewed my faith in Rover again after having two bad experiences with sitters who confirmed and then ghosted me, but the way she and her family cared for my Pepper was PRICELESS!!! Pepper IMMEDIATELY gravitated to her and the family! THANK YOU for making Pepper feel like family! She even misses her son, who cried as Pepper left which made me get emotional! Don’t worry, Pepper will be back VERY SOON!! 5 STARS AND A MILLION THUMBS UP!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
