“Kaelyn was great. She communicated through out about how Melanie was doing & really loved Melanie like she was one of her own pups. Will definitely use Kaelyn’s services again. Thank you for everything!”

“Paula was great! She was communicative and wonderful with our pup. It was a very hot weekend and our pup does not do well in the heat and Paula was super accommodating and aware of her needs. She sent great pictures and updates. Felt very comfortable with her and will absolutely be using her again. Highly recommend!”

“Oscar took great care of our dog, Bella! They were very communicative (+ sent lots of photos and videos of our girl having the best time). The first night Bella had some tummy problems, and they took care of her and communicated throughout the day. She was better by day two! I can’t speak highly enough! Will definitely have Oscar watch Bella again soon!”

“Jason was absolutely amazing with my dog, Tayto! I felt so at ease knowing he was in great hands. Jason totally welcomed Tayto in to his home and family. His dog, Noah, was the best playmate for Tayto. Jason gave lots of updates and photos to share all the fun they were having together. Definitely recommend and will be booking with him again!”

“Erin was simply incredible in caring for my dog. She kept me updated with daily photos and I knew he was being cared for with the utmost love. I definitely will rebook in the future!”

“Tyler and his wife did such an amazing job caring for Walter! They were very communicative and sent pictures throughout his stay. I would absolutely trust them to care for my baby again!!”

“Jing really took the time to get to know my dog and check in with me about her behaviors so I knew she was being well looked after. Plus I appreciated seeing pictures of her as she explored her new surroundings. I am glad we found Jing and her family!”

“Very happy with Norman’s stay. Dan has a sweet dog of his own that Norman for along with. They went in a nice walk up to Blue Hills for some outside time. Great communication to let me know everything was going well.”

“So caring, kind, and wonderful. They took great care of my dog when I was in a bind, were flexible and understanding as my schedule changed, and kept me updated with photos along the way. Thank you again so much!”

“Shuhua is such an amazing dog sitter. She treats my dog with such care and love, send me tons of pictures and updates, that I feel completely stress free when I’m traveling. My dog is in great hands!!! Maybe better hands than mine! :)”

“Pluto had an amazing time with Ruya and Aybark! I was nervous to leave him in boarding as he has separation anxiety, but they took such good care of him and made him feel at ease. It was also very easy to keep in touch and they sent pictures of him throughout his stay. Overall, a great experience!”

“Atticia took great care of our puppy. We were hesitant to leave him with anyone because he'd just joined our family a few weeks prior and is already spoiled rotten. But she treated him like part of her family and reinforced the routine we've developed. She kept us updated with his daily progress and activities and we were at ease and able to enjoy our time away.”

“Tae is wonderful! Ella (our dog) was anxious at first, but Tae did a great job making her feel comfortable and loved. Tae was highly communicative, sent regular pictures and updates, and took Ella outside for walks and runs in the park regularly (and during a very cold stretch). Ella was happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend Tae!”

“Lauren did an amazing job caring for my pup, Poppy! Lauren was caring, thoughtful, and responsive throughout the entire process. Poppy felt right at home! Lauren is a great petsitter and provides a really safe, fun, and relaxing home away from home for each pet. Poppy and I are looking forward to her next stay with Lauren!”

“Xiaoyuan and William were the best. I was out on a business trip and they were able to board my Shiba Inu Bolt. Because they had another Sheebs in the house, they were already aware of the quirks of owning the breed but sure it would have been translatable to other breeds. They were very communicative and provided a lot of updates throughout. I highly recommend them.”

“Vanessa took wonderful care of my dear Clementine. Clementine was very happy in Vanessa's care. I'm very grateful for how well cared for Clementine was with Vanessa!”

Our dog Astro had a great stay! Casey was very accommodating with our early morning departure and even drove Astro home when our flight was scheduled to come in later than expected. She kept me updated with photos and videos of Astro. It was such a relief to know Astro was in good hands while on vacation.

Sunil took wonderful care of our dog, Brownie, while we were away\. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and treated Brownie like one of her own\. She made sure Brownie got plenty of walks and even cooked chicken for her dinner, which was such a thoughtful touch\. Throughout our time away, Sunil kept us updated with messages and photos, giving us complete peace of mind knowing Brownie was happy and well cared for\. I truly appreciated her communication, compassion, and dedication\. I would highly recommend Sunil to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter\. We will definitely use her again\!
Dana was incredible. We had a last‑minute trip come up, and he didn’t hesitate to take in Zeus, our 11‑year‑old boy, with so much care and kindness. He sent daily updates and photos, and it was obvious in every single one that Zeus felt comfortable, happy, and completely at ease. Zeus is older and can be particular, but Dana handled everything beautifully. When we picked Zeus up, he was relaxed, content, and honestly a little exhausted from all the fun he had. That told us everything we needed to know about the level of attention and affection he received. We’re so grateful for Dana’s flexibility, communication, and genuine love for animals. We’ll absolutely book with him again.

Caroline, her dog Butterscotch, and their family took great care of my dog Bao Bao. He’s a shy, slightly nervous fellow and it was his first time boarding without his late big sister, but he had a lovely time. Caroline sent photos and updates daily. I’m really glad Bao got to stay with a nice family with a dog and a yard instead of some mass boarding setup. We will definitely check with Caroline before any other sitters in the future!

Kayla is an amazing sitter! I have struggled for YEARS to find a dog sitter for my anxious dog, Onyx. He is very flighty and takes a long time to warm up to people and trust them. For those reasons, every sitter and trainer we have tried to use since getting him as a rescue pup has not worked out. He would fail meet and greets and temperament tests and the only time we have been able to take vacations has been to find family or friends that he is comfortable to house sit. Onyx was comfortable with Kayla as soon as we had the initial meet and greet. She has a wonderful setup that is dog focused, from fresh water that is always available to the nice quiet backyard where the dogs can just relax. Onyx felt comfortable walking right into Kayla's home and did really well meeting Kayla's dogs. They were very well trained and friendly and helped my Onyx settle in quickly. Kayla maintained excellent communication from the start of our interactions and was very responsive to any questions or concerns that I brought up. She sent us updates and pictures of Onyx daily so there was never a point during our vacation when I was worried about my dog or wondering if he was getting enough attention or activity. Walking Onyx can be a very difficult challenge and I let Kayla know that she didn't have to try if he was showing a lot of anxiety but she went above and beyond to make sure Onyx was included on any walks with the other dogs and he did amazingly! I only have positive things to say about Kayla and her services as a dog sitter. I feel so comfortable having Onyx stay with her that I will definitely be booking again for any future vacations and maybe even doggy daycare because he had so much fun. For the first time in years, I feel a relief from the stress I would get from even thinking about vacation and it is all thanks to Kayla and her experience and skills as a dog sitter! Thank you Kayla!!

We never feel nervous about going away when our dogs are staying with Jess. She is absolutely wonderful! Jess is so caring and nurturing and treats our dogs as if they were her own. They truly become part of her family! Also, Jess is careful to follow any notes I send and makes sure they get plenty of potty breaks, exercise, and attention while we are away. She will update you often, but now that we have entrusted our dogs with her so many times, I no longer feel the need for frequent updates because I know they are in the very best hands. Her home has truly become our dogs' "home away from home," and I really couldn't recommend her more highly!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
