“Kim was wonderful with our dog Ziggy. She treated him as if he was part of her household! I received beautiful photos of him playing with her dog, her walks in the woods, and of him sleeping. I definitely recommend Kim. She has a caring way with her own dogs and my dog immediately seemed comfortable with her and them. Kim made me (and Ziggy) feel feel cared for!”

“Our Bernese Mountain Dog, Greta, has has two wonderful stays with Kira and her family! I would HIGHLY recommend Kira to any dog owner. Her daily updates and pictures are such peace of mind while we were away and the smile on Greta’s face was priceless! The second time we pulled up to the house, Greta excitedly ran to their front door and I had to ask her to come back so I could say good bye! There’s no doubt that Greta will return anytime we are away. We’re so grateful for the care and love she receives with Kira.”

“Alan and Ying are beyond attentive, made us feel very comfortable and confident when leaving our pup with them. Great communication across the board!”

“Awesome down to Earth couple. My dog Luna had a rough first night and they were nothing but kind to her, understanding her nerves in a new home. Luna warmed up to them after the first night and they sent me photos throughout the trip which comforted me. Highly recommend Stephen and Cece!”

“Eric was great! I was taking care of my nephew's dog and had to find him a place to board at the last minute due to a death in the family. My travel plans kept changing and Eric kindly accomodated the situation. He also sent daily photos which helps to assure your dog is being well cared for. I highly recommend Eric.”

“My first experience was Rover was great. Nalix was amazing! We had a video chat before meeting. Then when she had my pups she communicated very well with check ins, pics and videos. Definitely will be using her services again. Chance & Skyy had a great time at her home.”

“Natacha is a great caregiver! She took great care of my dog Mollie, and was quick to respond to questions. I will certainly ask her to watch my Mollie again. Thanks!”

“Steven was great with our dog. We boarded her with him for a long weekend She is a nervous girl and often barks at new people. When I dropped her off he took her leash and her treats and immediately got her to sit and calm down. During her stay with Steven he sent us photos, which I appreciate. When I picked her up she was in good spirits and wagging her tail which is always a good sign. We will definitely be using Steven's services again.”

“Tianyue took great care of Elliot. She sent lots of photos and managed his medications and eye drops very well. I felt super comfortable leaving Elliot with her for nearly a week.”

“Our dog loved staying at Sean's house! He was great at communicating to set up the booking. He also sent adorable photos each day so we were able to enjoy our trip without worry.”

“Isabella was extremely responsive and communicative! She took on a tall task of watching after not only my dog, Muzzy, but 3 other dogs simultaneously, all while also taking care of her baby. Isabella kept us updated with videos throughout the day. I would definitely ask Isabella to care for Muzzy again in the future.”

“Mo clearly loves and understands animals and kept me updated the whole time 🧡 she adapted to my pup’s quirks, sent daily pics, and I felt confident Arya was being cared for and loved on the whole time”

“Minglu and Yilun are excellent— I can’t recommend them enough. It’s clear they’re both dog lovers and took extraordinary care of our goldendoodle puppy. They have two dogs and our pup clearly enjoyed playing with them — she came home tired out and actually didn’t want to leave! They sent us videos and photos so we always felt well informed and knew she was in good hands. Would definitely use again!”

“Great experience! Joseph was awesome, he went above and beyond, to ensure my great dane was well cared for while we were out of town visiting family. Joseph kept us updated with messages and pictures. Once again, thank you for taking care of our child ? in our home - we wouldn't have found a better dog sitter! We definitely will use Joseph again in the future. ?”
“Jason was great with our dog Calvin. It's always hard finding a new sitter (we just moved to Boston), but Jason was probably one of the best we've ever used on Rover. He communicated multiple times a day, sent photos of our buddy and asked questions when he had them. Calvin had a great time with Noah, his new bestie, and settled in much faster than he usually does. We know Calvin looks forward to his next stay with Noah, and so do we!”

“Greta is an amazing dog sitter! She provided lots of updates every day, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog looked incredibly happy and well cared for throughout the stay. She even gave my dog a bath, which was such a thoughtful offer. Juniper is also absolutely adorable, and it was wonderful that my dog had such a sweet companion to play with. I would highly recommend Greta to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter!”

“Allie is fantastic. She is attentive to my dog's needs, had great questions about things she noticed during his stay, and her communication style is terrific. My dog will be back again in a few weeks.”

“We had never left our fur babies with anyone outside of family before Kayla. She put our minds at ease and took such good care of them, and we could not be more grateful. Thank you, Kayla!!”

Caroline, her dog Butterscotch, and their family took great care of my dog Bao Bao. He’s a shy, slightly nervous fellow and it was his first time boarding without his late big sister, but he had a lovely time. Caroline sent photos and updates daily. I’m really glad Bao got to stay with a nice family with a dog and a yard instead of some mass boarding setup. We will definitely check with Caroline before any other sitters in the future!

Kayla is an amazing sitter! I have struggled for YEARS to find a dog sitter for my anxious dog, Onyx. He is very flighty and takes a long time to warm up to people and trust them. For those reasons, every sitter and trainer we have tried to use since getting him as a rescue pup has not worked out. He would fail meet and greets and temperament tests and the only time we have been able to take vacations has been to find family or friends that he is comfortable to house sit. Onyx was comfortable with Kayla as soon as we had the initial meet and greet. She has a wonderful setup that is dog focused, from fresh water that is always available to the nice quiet backyard where the dogs can just relax. Onyx felt comfortable walking right into Kayla's home and did really well meeting Kayla's dogs. They were very well trained and friendly and helped my Onyx settle in quickly. Kayla maintained excellent communication from the start of our interactions and was very responsive to any questions or concerns that I brought up. She sent us updates and pictures of Onyx daily so there was never a point during our vacation when I was worried about my dog or wondering if he was getting enough attention or activity. Walking Onyx can be a very difficult challenge and I let Kayla know that she didn't have to try if he was showing a lot of anxiety but she went above and beyond to make sure Onyx was included on any walks with the other dogs and he did amazingly! I only have positive things to say about Kayla and her services as a dog sitter. I feel so comfortable having Onyx stay with her that I will definitely be booking again for any future vacations and maybe even doggy daycare because he had so much fun. For the first time in years, I feel a relief from the stress I would get from even thinking about vacation and it is all thanks to Kayla and her experience and skills as a dog sitter! Thank you Kayla!!

Brian was an excellent sitter for.our English Bulldog and Pug. We got lots of pictures assuring us they were getting lots of love and attention, and when we picked them up they were happy and attentive. It's great to have found a sitter as good as the family that used to watch our dogs. We will ABSOLUTELY take our dogs to Brian in the future.
Words cannot describe how well our dog was taken care of while we were away! D was absolutely fantastic and gave us consistent daily updates filled with silly and cute pictures. Our dog can be challenging around new faces, but they took that in stride and he immediately was comfortable around them due to their caring nature. HIGHLY recommend your dog staying in their loving home!

As an owner to a newly adopted dog, I was very anxious about having to leave my dog behind for two days so soon after bringing her home. Jodi was quick with responses, sent lots of pictures and videos, and asked questions when necessary. She was wonderful and I will be booking her again. Thank you, Jodi!

Joe had the BEST time with Karin and Charlie, truly his home away from home and he has been so sad to leave. We got daily messages and adorable photos each day from Karin and they were so attentive to Joe's needs and daily medication and quirks. We can't wait to have them babysit him again, I'm sure Joe feels the same. A+++++ sitters

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
