I work from home, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, attention, and care throughout the day, not just quick check ins. My goal is always to create a calm, safe, and loving environment where your dog feels comfortable and at ease.

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog will be staying in a true family home. We have a fenced in dog run for safe outdoor time. Four friendly resident dogs (2 small JRTs, 2 Labradors) who are well socialized and three dog loving kids (16, 8, 6) who understand how to respectfully interact with animals. Because of this, your dog will have a great mix of structure, play, and companionship, but I’m also very mindful of individual needs. If your dog prefers space, a slower introduction, or a quieter environment, I can absolutely accommodate that.

Information Sarah H. would like to know about your pet
Every dog is different, and the more I know ahead of time, the better I can make your dog feel comfortable, safe, and right at home. I love learning the little details that help me care for your dog the way you do. Here are a few things that are especially helpful for me to know: Is your dog more playful and social, or do they prefer a quiet environment? Do they warm up quickly, or take a little time to feel comfy? Since we’re a home with both dogs and kids, it’s helpful to know how your dog typically interacts in this setting. What do they eat, when do they eat, and are there any quirks (like guarding or picky eaters)? Are they on a schedule? Do they signal when they need to go out? Do they love to run and play, or are they more of a lounge and snuggle? Where do they typically sleep? Crate, dog bed, your bed? Whatever they’re used to, I try to keep things consistent! Any medications, allergies, or things I should keep an eye on? Does anything make them nervous? Feel free to send their favorite bed, toy, or blanket. I know that familiar things can make a big difference. My goal is simple, make your pup feel safe, and as close to “home” as possible.
A typical day
Your pup will be part of our daily routine. They won’t just be watched. They will be part of a loving home. Mornings start with outdoor time in our fenced dog run, giving everyone a chance to stretch, play, and settle into the day. After that, we transition into an indoor routine with fresh water, breakfast (if applicable), and plenty of attention. Because I work from home, your dog is never left alone for long stretches. My workday allows me to stay present and attentive, with natural breaks built in for bathroom breaks and outdoor time, play time, tons of socializing, and my favorite, snuggles and snacks! The dogs love to relax nearby while I work, with plenty of cozy spots for napping, hanging out with me, or playing with the other dogs if they are up for it! Midday and afternoon is outdoor time, light play, and a walk. Evenings are when my house comes alive and social. My family comes home, which means lots of extra attention and snuggles. Lots of wagging tails always at the door! This all said, every pup is different. I’m very mindful of each dog’s needs. I want to make sure our hyper friends get a chance to play, wiggle, and burn energy. Our chill or older friends get space and a quieter pace, and new pups are always introduced thoughtfully to ensure everyone feels comfortable.

Reviews

Sarah has been amazing with my two rescue dogs. She is patient with them and they look forward to their walks with her.

Sarah provided phenomenal house sitting care for our anxious dog. She was very reliable and responsive and calmed our nerves with multiple photos and updates throughout the week. Highly recommend!

Sarah was an absolute life saver. I had a sudden injury that made it quite challenging for me to walk my pup. Sarah was a huge help in making sure coco got her exercise, but also in making sure I had what I needed to recover! Super grateful for Sarah’s help but she is also just a wonderful human!

Sarah was awesome at accommodating a last min walk and was so sweet with my pup. She asked great questions and was nice enough to leave out fresh water for my dog when she left. We look forward to having Sarah help again soon!
