“Julie was an excellent cat sitter and went above and beyond in taking care of my two cats while I was away. Julie made sure they were well fed and entertained and took incredible photos! I will definitely rebook.”

“We are so glad to have had Ann-Marie take care of our cats. Even our shy girl felt comfortable to get some pets from her their first time meeting! She communicated wonderfully and sent us so many pictures. Thank you!”

“Nick was the best dog sitter! We had drop in visits scheduled, and he was so intentional with spending time with our pup on each one. We will definitely be booking with Nick for our next trip!”

“Mengyao stepped in last minute when our sitter canceled during Christmas. She was incredibly responsive and communicative. She sent lots of great pictures, videos, and updates during her visits. Our pets loved her and were very well cared for. We can’t recommend Mengyao enough! We are looking forward to having her watch our babies again.”

“Our cat loved having visits and snuggles and we loved getting updates. Morgan and Meaghan were professional, cordial and so sweet with our cat. We would definitely go with them again.”

“Jennifer really helped me out in a pinch! I needed someone to check in on my cat last minute and she made it work. She’s always so enthusiastic and my cat loves her. I really appreciate all the pictures while I am away!”

“I wish I could give more than 5 stars because Kristen is just that good! We had an emergency this morning and Kristen was able to come last minute to take care of our pups. She did so fully knowing that there would likely be a crate full of poop when she arrived. She is so great with our pups and we trust her completely!”

About: I am a medical student who loves pets! I grew up with dogs in my home and always have one around me if I can help it. Experience boarding and walking dogs of all ages and sizes. Great at giving necessary medications and caring for any needs that arise. I’ve walked for Wag previously. I’m currently out of school for the summer so I’ll be able to fit in dog walks and give lots of love and attention! We have a big backyard so potty breaks will happen often. The weekends almost always work unless I’m out of town. I have a fenced yard. Currently no other pets in the home, but furniture is dog friendly. I’ve raised dogs for 14 years of my life and regularly pet sit for friends and coworkers. From the miniature breeds to the breeds that weigh hundreds of pounds, I’m comfortable with them all.
“Jana helped us out very last minute! She was flexible when I asked her to come a little earlier. Will definitely request Jana again. Highly recommend!!”

About: I have been taking care of my neighbors animals since I was 10 years old. I am reliable and communicative. I am good with giving medicine if needed. When I lived in New York I was walking dogs in the morning and the evening making sure to leave enough time for play time, their breakfast, and dinner! I have a tuxedo cat and my main goal is to always make sure she is happy! I will do the same with your babies. I always make sure the dogs are leashed before leaving the house and make sure the front door or fence is closed so they don’t escape.

“Alexandra was so great with Maker! She always included pictures from her visits and answered quickly when I messaged her for any reason. She was great! Occasionally a little late with scheduled times but that doesn't bother Maker at all so she was perfect for us!”

“Eli clearly feels at home caring for pets. We don't leave our pups alone often, but we were quickly put at ease with Eli's kindness & clear love of pets and our two took easily to enjoying their time spent with Eli”

About: I have solid experience caring for dogs, and I truly enjoy every moment with them. For me, walks are more than just a simple outing they’re fun adventures your dog deserves! I’m affectionate, patient, and always focused on making them feel safe, loved, and happy. I’m happy to take care of your best friend! Whether it’s for a few hours, a fun walk, or even staying with them when needed. I’m here to help. I’m available every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays. I’m happy to adapt to your furry friend’s routine whether it’s at home or during walks. I understand that every pet has their own needs, and I love giving them the care and attention they deserve.
“I was initially super anxious about using this service, but Stephen put my mind at ease with incredible care, kindness, and communication. Amazing sitter, went above and beyond. Thank you!!!”

Ann-Marie was so wonderful I can’t say enough good things. If anyone knows me they know my cat is my whole world, so it takes a lot for me to trust someone with her. Ann-Marie was so attentive, kind, and understanding and gave daily updates with photos to really put my mind at ease. I would book with her again in a heartbeat!

Highly recommend Marie! This was our first time using Rover and leaving our cat alone since adopting him and we felt so comfortable the entire time. She was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to handle our cat’s complex feeding routine, give him cuddles and play time, and take care of the litter box and water. Thank you so much Marie!!

Lindsay was a dream to have for our dogs. She came to meet both of my dogs in our house and had very thoughtful questions prepared for me regarding the dogs and their habits/behaviors. She was very fast at communicating and took the exact care of my dogs that I requested. We look forward to having her take care of our dogs again in the near future.

As always we feel very comfortable with Aly taking care of our, now senior, cats. There was a smoke alarm ringing when Aly came into our house on one of the days to care for the cats. She quickly figured out it was a false alarm, was able to contact our son, and get the alarm taken care of. We are so grateful for her quick thinking and resolution of the problem. Thank you Aly!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
