Hello! I am a fourth year MD-PhD Student at Harvard-MIT who would love to meet the pets in the Boston/Brookline community! I am in my research years and am flexible with drop-offs and pick-ups. My partner lives with me, and he is often working from home when I head out for errands or go to school. I live right next to a park and will be able to give your pups plenty of exercise and play time if they stay at my home. I also love spending ample time with cats and making sure they get the playtime and socialization they need while you are away! I moved to Boston from Boulder, CO, where I majored in chemical and biological engineering and biochemistry and was a student-athlete. I was a full time pet sitter there as well and had multiple regular clients. I've hosted pets in my home between 2017-2019 and since 2021, so I have a lot of experience helping pets feel comfortable and safe. I love all types of dogs and cats and will make sure yours feels loved and cared-for while you're away! I have experience raising dogs, cats, hamsters, and fish and can check up on any other small critters you might have. I will ensure that your house and dogs/cats are safe while you are away. I can walk dogs every three hours on weekends and can provide constant company weekday afternoons and on the weekends. If you are away for an extended amount of time and requesting drop-in visits, I can help with maintenance around the house such as gardening, watering plants, and picking up the mail. If your dogs are active, I can take them on hikes, runs, and to the park to play. And of course I will cuddle with them when they're ready to take a nap. I can provide overnight watch on any night of the week. Your dogs and cats will never feel lonely under my watch! I have experience with small and large dogs, puppies, senior dogs, and special-needs dogs and feel confident that I can keep your dog healthy and safe while you are away. I have no breed preferences (or prejudices) and have worked with dogs of a wide range of demeanor. I feel comfortable with my abilities to read how animals are feeling and respond proactively to keep them happy! I would love to know everything about your dog or cat's normal schedule so I can keep them comfortable while you are away. I customize every care plan to fit the needs of every dog. I can brush them regularly and give baths. I will also be sure to send you daily photos of your pets so you don't miss them too much! I can't wait to meet your furry friend! I live right across from an amazing park and can provide a lot of exercise to your pups! I live on the first floor, so senior pups should not have an issue with stairs. Pets are welcome on my furniture and will be kept on their regular schedule.

I can’t say enough good things about Michaela as a dog sitter. She was incredibly flexible when some plans came together last minute and was so kind and helpful about it. Her communication was excellent, and the regular updates gave me such peace of mind. I truly felt my dog was safe, happy, and well cared for. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Schedule
I'm currently in my research years of school, so I can be flexible around your pup's needs. My partner is often home when I need to leave for school or errands, and we work together to ensure maximum safety and care for the pets that we sit for.

Safety, trust & environment
When boarding pups, we always use our entrance that has two doors to ensure that no escape artists can get outside without a leash. I will also ask about how your pup interacts with other dogs and children. I know most of the neighborhood dogs and will be sure to only introduce your pup to friendly dogs when appropriate. Pups are always kept on leashes, and we will only feed them the food and treats you send along! For drop-in visits, I always double check that doors are closed and locked when I leave, and I ensure that there are no new hazards for pets during each visit and that they can access everything they need while they're alone.
Pets
A typical day
I will take your dogs on walks around my or your neighborhood or to the park and can take them on hikes and runs if they are active. When it's naptime, we'll cuddle up together. I love going to parks to give dogs some fresh air and time to play in the grass! We will play together as much as possible, and you will return home to a very tired and happy pup!
