“Jadeth was such a wonderful sitter for our cat George over the Christmas holiday! She was prompt, thorough in her write-ups, and sent tons of photos and videos that helped give us peace of mind while we were away. She took time to play with George and keep him active, and he seemed to warm to her quickly. It was evident in her visit summaries how much Jadeth enjoyed her time with our boy, which was a huge comfort for us. We'll definitely be reaching out to Jadeth again!”

“Aly was amazing! She was super responsive, sent lots of photo updates, and made us feel totally at ease knowing our cats were in great hands while we were away for the week. She went above and beyond sweeping up litter and bringing in our mail, which we really appreciated. We would definitely book with her again and cannot recommend her enough.”

“Lindsay was incredible with Sunny. She was very thorough during the meet and greet. She gives detailed updates with great pictures. Overall she goes above and beyond. I would definitely recommend.”

“James was an excellent caregiver for my cat. He came over early to see the house and meet Finbar, sent nice updates and pictures. I would be happy to use his services again.”

“Sarah always takes such good care of my girls and I appreciate her so much! This is my first time having Sara sit for me and she’s been wonderful every time.”

“Mengyao stepped in last minute when our sitter canceled during Christmas. She was incredibly responsive and communicative. She sent lots of great pictures, videos, and updates during her visits. Our pets loved her and were very well cared for. We can’t recommend Mengyao enough! We are looking forward to having her watch our babies again.”

“Lizz was an amazing cat sitter. Not only did she show love for our not so friendly cat but she was always responsive and went above and beyond when taking care of our place. Overall I would highly recommend her services if you’re looking for a cat sitter.”

“Zoe did a drop in visit for our young puppy (14 weeks) and did a wonderful job! We did a virtual meet and greet during which she asked very thoughtful questions. She was very communicative.”

“Yanira took amazing care of Ruthie! She can be shy with new people but came out for Yanira, great to get the daily photos! I would absolutely book with her again!”

About: I grew up in a home with dogs, cats, bunnies, hens and roosters. I have never lived without caring for an animal! I love being outside, going for walks, playing and gardening. I am a mom of two school-aged boys and a proud owner of two tuxedo kitties whom we adopted nine years ago. I work part-time in the afternoons as an outdoor preschool art specialist. I am free between 9:30 am, and 1 pm everyday, and Wednesday and Thursday until 3 pm! I may also have early evenings free starting at the end of June. I have plenty of time in my schedule to help you care for your animals. Looking forward to meeting them! I am fun, gentle, playful and caring, and have a good instinct for what dogs and cats need. I can read body language and am sensitive to energy. I look forward to learning more about your pets from you, getting to know them and forging a relationship.

About: I have taken care of friends’ dogs during trips and overnight visits, feeding, playing with, and walking them. I love spending time with pets and am open to caring for any type of dog. I’m currently looking for temporary work and have a lot of free time! Available for day visits as well as overnight, whatever is needed. I am a gentle and adaptable animal lover and I enjoy playing with, caring for, and spending time with dogs and cats of all kinds.
“Mike did a great job doting on our very neurotic cat. He managed to slip a pill into her food every morning, and stayed around for a bit so she could get a "second breakfast" afterwards. He even got to pet her occasionally, something only a very select few can say! Fountains were kept filled, cat box was clean, and bowls weren't overflowing with stale, dried up food. Definitely recommend!”

I will be available Monday through Friday for evening walks and anytime on the weekends. I will be able to give your dog a bath and a good brush after a walk if needed!
About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was an early teen. The first dog I ever walked was a golden retriever named Buddy who dragged me down the longest driveway I’ve ever seen. I quickly learned how to make sure that didn’t happen (a good hold on the leash and a treat or two) and we became best pals. Since then I’ve dog sat for friends consistently. I’ve watched dogs of all ages and sizes. I have experience caring for senior dogs (my own just passed at 16). I can administer medication if necessary. I’ve been a dog lover my whole life and truly miss having my own now. I am excited for the opportunity to care for your pups! I’m currently working from home most days and manage my own schedule. Some days are less meeting heavy than others. I have more time around lunch and after 3pm. I make sure to thoroughly follow all instructions and rules left behind by my clients. I know that mistakes can happen but I think a lot of them are preventable. Staying alert and paying attention can help you to make sure things go smoothly.
“Amanda did a fantastic job with my dog and my cat! They both warmed up to her immediately and she did great with making sure they had their medication. I would absolutely book her again!”

Kristen provided fantastic care to our 2 cats. She followed all of our instructions and kept them well fed, changed litter, and played with them. She also was able to administer medicine to one of our cats who had a medical condition. She put our minds at ease and kept us updated every day we were on vacation with a summary and photos. I highly recommend her. She has great care skills, and great communication skills.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
