About: I am a medical student who loves pets! I grew up with dogs in my home and always have one around me if I can help it. Experience boarding and walking dogs of all ages and sizes. Great at giving necessary medications and caring for any needs that arise. I’ve walked for Wag previously. The weekends almost always work unless I’m out of town. I have a fenced yard. Currently no other pets in the home, but furniture is dog friendly. Maisie and Jack are two senior pups and what they need most is comfort and companionship. It was clear that Katie offered them all of that and more. About: I follow the guidelines of the owner. I am "present" (not distracted) with the dog. I am consistent and caring. I am very aware of the dog's behavior in the range of other pets and people, and adjust our path and pace accordingly. I am recently retired and my scheduled is flexible between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. unless I have scheduled time on the water to sail. Currently, I walked my neighbors dog. When I enter, I am careful to close the door immediately and take time to greet the dog (Mazie, female). I am attentive to details when putting on her harness for both security and comfort. While walking, I follow the instructions of the owner relative to the proximity of other dogs since Mazie is a rescue and can become agitated by other dogs. Maize heels very well for me while we walk and I believe she appreciates that I do not listen to music or use my phone while we walk. I converse with Mazie to ensure she feels companionship as well as experiences exercise.
