“Sarah provided phenomenal house sitting care for our anxious dog. She was very reliable and responsive and calmed our nerves with multiple photos and updates throughout the week. Highly recommend!”

“This is the 2nd time this year I’ve worked with Sarah and once again she was fantastic! I would recommend her - and work with her again - without hesitation. My cats are so calm and happy when I return. And I love the pictures and updates she sends me every day. She’s great about keeping in touch to confirm all the details beforehand and about letting me know that everything is OK while I am away. Sara makes it much easier for me to go away knowing that my cats are well cared for.”

“Victoria did a great job with Freya (who can be very shy and anxious with new people). She kept me updated with pics and texts throughout the session. I would definitely trust her to watch Freya again!”

“Lindsay took such great care of my cat Naomi! She was extremely professional and responsive, and she was so helpful even with some very last minute changes/housesitting needs that I was stressing over. Also had no trouble administering Naomi’s medication and was so attentive to her daily routine. I really appreciated all the detailed updates and cat pics!! I would happily have her catsit for us again :)”

“Marilyn is a fantastic sitter and considerate homestay. She took great care of my two cats (and my home), and they really liked her based on the numerous pictures she sent where it appeared they were following her around, and not just to the wet food. What's more, Marilyn goes above and beyond. When I left for my trip and Marilyn was to begin residency the following day, my neighbor texted me and showed me that there was a window situation where a cat could escape. Even though her duty started the next day, Marilyn made a special trip to confirm cats were safe, and to fix the window situation. She even washed the bedding and towels I had left her so I wouldn't have to do it when I got home, and she generously allowed my to book two more nights of her care when I wanted to extend my trip. Marilyn is very caring, considerate and flexible. I will definitely be requesting her services again. I recommend her highly as one of the best Rover caretakers I have encountered.”

“Angie is the best ever!! Not only is she amazing with my puppy, but she also takes the best care of my space and I come home to a well taken care of pup and a spotless apartment! She also constantly keeps me updated throughout her stay which is amazing :)”

“Cynthia was wonderful! She kept us regularly updated on the pups and did an amazing job with our older, more antisocial dog. Her attention to detail and care really made a difference, and we felt completely at ease while away. We'll definitely be booking her again in the future.”

“Boning was so great with our senior French Bulldogs! She house sat for us over a holiday weekend. She was prompt, sent lots of pictures and was in communication every day, whether to give an update, send pics are ask specific questions. Would love to have her again!”
“Amanda watched my high-energy dog, Buffy, for almost 2 weeks, and she did an amazing job! She seemed to bring my girl on so many adventures, and she made me feel like she really cared about Buffy and loved her like I did. It really calmed my nerves while I was away on vacation. I can’t thank her enough!”

“I’m very thankful to have found Anne to stay at my place for four nights with my 45 pound love bug. It’s the first time I’ve been able to successfully make arrangements through Rover and I knew as soon as I met Anne that she was the right person. I usually stick to road trips so I can bring the dog with me. It was great to be able to fly across the country and know that my dog was being well taken care of.”

“If we could give Yanira 10 shining stars, we would! Yanira took exceptional care of our sheltie Pepper in our home. Yanira arrived on time, which we appreciated since we had a plane to catch. Yanira sent regular updates and photos, and when we returned from our trip, Pepper was happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. Our house, BTW, was immaculate. Yanira has our highest recommendations, and we will definitely be using her again. Thank you, Yanira!!!!!”

“Anna was wonderful! Kind, responsive, and clearly our dogs adored her, which was a huge comfort to us while being out of town for several days. We can't wait to use her again, and I know the pups will miss her until then!”

“Danielle was great! She shared great updates and pics of kuzco while we were traveling and it was clear how much she cared about him being comfortable and having a good time with her!”

“Isis was so attentive and left such detailed and thoughtful messages for us. Our dog got sick in the middle of the night and she handled it, cleaned it, and let us know what happened in a timely manner. She even then changed our dog's breakfast to help their tummy. We will definitely be asking Isis back 🧡”

“Donna did a good job taking care of Tashi under fairly difficult circumstances, including a snowstorm and a dog who was reluctant to cooperate at first. She sent pictures every day and kept us updated on how he was doing. Will use Donna again in the future.”

About: I am a lifetime pet owner to a dog and cat, Truffle and Izzy. Aside from growing up with animal siblings, I have also worked as a dog walker, for large dogs, a doberman named Zeke, and small puppies, a Portuguese water dog named Cleo, and a range in-between. I have also house sitted for dog and cat owners. I am a college student waiting for the fall semester to start back up again, so I am largely free! I am an early riser so getting those morning walks is no probably! As well, I am available for boarding most days of the week. At home, I am all about playing and hanging out with my dogs and cats. Being with animals all my life has allowed me to know when things are getting too rowdy or when a dog or cat just wants some space. I'm all for fun and games unless there are rules that need to be followed. A counter that is off limits, section of house, or a specific nighttime routine, and I am not playing around but being stern yet gentle.
About: I have been a pet sitter for a couple years! Also, I have volunteered and interned at a veterinary hospital these experiences helped me become more informed on pet care. My main priority is providing your pet with the best care!! I will clean water bowl, provide fresh food and any further needs . I currently work a full time job but typically free Monday anytime before 8am and then again after 6:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday anytime from 9-11:30am and then again after 4pm, Wednesday, and Friday anytime from 7-1:30pm. For Saturday anytime in the day works for me and for Sunday anytime before 6am and then again at 3:30pm. My main priority is comfort making sure you are comfortable with entrusting your pet in my care and making sure your pet is comfortable with me. I will do this by allowing the pet to become familiar with me so they aren’t scared and providing treats as well as playful sessions to get them comfortable.

Jess was amazing! She was available last-minute and super flexible with timing in terms of arrival and departure. I felt completely comfortable with her staying in our home and caring for our dog Rayne while we were away. We had an unexpected plumbing issue while we were away which Jess handled calmly and patiently on our behalf. I couldn’t recommend her more!

Al is amazing! She house sat for us for 4 nights/5 days, and she took wonderful care of our home and our 3.5-month-old beagle puppy. We set up a meet-and-greet with Al a few weeks before her stay, and we knew we would be in good hands from the moment we met her. Our puppy instantly gravitated towards her, too, and enjoyed playing with her and snuggling with her. Al was communicative throughout her entire stay at our house, sharing text and photo updates with us each day. She’s fun, caring and responsible, and we’re so grateful we found her. We highly recommend her!

Lindsay took such great care of my cat Naomi! She was extremely professional and responsive, and she was so helpful even with some very last minute changes/housesitting needs that I was stressing over. Also had no trouble administering Naomi’s medication and was so attentive to her daily routine. I really appreciated all the detailed updates and cat pics!! I would happily have her catsit for us again :)

Sarah was fantastic. She took Luna on fun adventures, gave her lots of attention, and made sure she was well cared for the entire time. We especially appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our Luna was happy, active, and loved. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter.

Eleanor diligently cared for my cat while I was away for a few days, so that when I returned, my cat was happy to see me without being starved of the love she had needed! I appreciated the photos Eleanor sent, and the care and love Eleanor provided. Eleanor even cleaned up a hairball at one point! My cat's current comfort upon my return shows Eleanor helped my cat feel secure, cared for, and safe.

I was so glad that Madison was available to watch our dog Molly for our past trip. It was the longest we've ever left her with a sitter which made me nervous but knowing Madison was going to be there with her eased all my worries. She kept us updated on Molly's everyday routine and any issues that arose. We feel so lucky to have her as a regular sitter! :)

Belkis is fantastic! We were so grateful to find her last minute! She was incredibly helpful, reliable, and took such great care of our pup while we were away. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. You can tell she genuinely cares about animals, and we’d absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend!

Katie did a wonderful job, taking care of our (very anxious) dog and two cats while we were gone for the weekend. She met with us the week before to go over all the information and she was great sending pictures/videos while we were gone. We returned home to a house that was cleaner than we left it, which is always a wonderful surprise. I would not hesitate to have Katie care for our crew again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hyde Park on Rover is $58.85 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 6,734 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hyde Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hyde Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hyde Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hyde Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hyde Park. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
