“Chris seems like a very sweet and reliable person- he was universally very fast to respond to messages, kept in contact with us while we were away, and all our critters seemed very happy when we got home!”

“Carmen was fantastic! My husband and I left for a 11 day vacation and left our puppy under Carmen’s care in our home. She first came to visit for a meet and greet to make sure it was a proper fit. From there, she made sure to understand our dogs routines, high energy puppy behaviors and our training expectations. She certainly gave our puppy nothing but love! We got multiple pictures many times of day that showed what great care he was under! When we returned, our home was exactly how we left it and our dog learned some new tricks! Carmen is trustworthy, professionally and very loving. We will certainly rebook her for future needs! Thanks Carmen!”

“Bethany took great care of my dogs and kept me up to date on what was going on with them. When one of my dogs got herself into some trouble, Bethany kept her cool and and had a sense of humor about it. Jasper and Zoe really seemed to like having her stay with them!”

“Belen took such good care of Pedrito! We've had two sitters move out of the area, and I'm so glad it was easy to find Belen who was clear, communicative, and has experience with small, reactive dogs like mine. Belen's calm demeanor is just what my dog needs. She gave him the space and opportunity to approach her when he was ready when they first met, which made a huge difference. He warmed up to her pretty quickly because of that patience. I would definitely recommend booking with Belen. She housesat, which I appreciated because that's the most comfortable for my dog. She sent lots of update pictures and videos while I was away. Can't say enough great things, thanks Belen! I'll definitely be booking with you again for Pedrito!”

“Danielle was great! She shared great updates and pics of kuzco while we were traveling and it was clear how much she cared about him being comfortable and having a good time with her!”

“Marilyn is a fantastic sitter and considerate homestay. She took great care of my two cats (and my home), and they really liked her based on the numerous pictures she sent where it appeared they were following her around, and not just to the wet food. What's more, Marilyn goes above and beyond. When I left for my trip and Marilyn was to begin residency the following day, my neighbor texted me and showed me that there was a window situation where a cat could escape. Even though her duty started the next day, Marilyn made a special trip to confirm cats were safe, and to fix the window situation. She even washed the bedding and towels I had left her so I wouldn't have to do it when I got home, and she generously allowed my to book two more nights of her care when I wanted to extend my trip. Marilyn is very caring, considerate and flexible. I will definitely be requesting her services again. I recommend her highly as one of the best Rover caretakers I have encountered.”

“Sarah was great with Otis! She checked in an appropriate amount and clearly had done her homework reading about him and his quirks. Would highly recommend and hope our schedules line up so we can have her back!”

“Victoria did a great job with Freya (who can be very shy and anxious with new people). She kept me updated with pics and texts throughout the session. I would definitely trust her to watch Freya again!”

“Isis was so attentive and left such detailed and thoughtful messages for us. Our dog got sick in the middle of the night and she handled it, cleaned it, and let us know what happened in a timely manner. She even then changed our dog's breakfast to help their tummy. We will definitely be asking Isis back 🧡”

“Ailise did a wonderful job housesitting with my cavapoo Freddie over the long weekend! She sent great updates, videos, and photos of my boy, and I felt confident that he was safe in her care. She left my apartment in great condition. I highly recommend Ailise and would definitely book with her again! Thank you :)”

“Maddie came in last minute to help us out with pet sitting our dog with separation anxiety. She was amazing! We are so glad she could be there and help our dog stay calm while we were away.”

“Cynthia did a great job taking care of Teddy. She sent adorable collages of him through out the day. When we returned Teddy was very happy and the house looked great.”

“Isabella took very good care of my two Boston Terriers. She communicated with us regularly and sent lots of pictures. Both my girls looked they they were having fun while we were gone. I would highly recommend Isabella and would certainly use her again.”

“Our first experience with Masiel was great. She was warm, friendly and had great energy. She was so loveable with my dog, Charlie. She sent photos and updates and kept my house very clean. We’re excited to use her again.”

“Katherine was a rockstar from start to finish. We just moved to the area, and so we had to find a new sitter for our cat, Moose. Moose absolutely loved Katherine and warmed up to her within minutes. He was playing with her on day 1, and it took prior sitters multiple visits before he even thought of touching a toy. Katherine gave multiple photo and video updates during her visit, and was super communicative of any issues. She stayed overnight and treated our home as her own. We will definitely be asking her to sit for Moose again!”

“Sarah is amazing. So responsive, so responsible and so lovely. She housesat for us for almost two weeks, caring for our dog and our elderly cat. I cannot recommend her enough. A true angel.”

“Anna was wonderful with our 2 boys, Frank and Eddie. She communicated daily with many pictures which made being away so easy and stress free. It was easy to see from the pictures how happy they were during her stay at our house. Thank you for taking such great care of our boys!”

About: I used to have two dogs and a cat along with many other random animals. Have always loved pets, just not in a place to have my own at the moment but would love to help others! I work full time, but I am available at night and on the weekends to help out with your furry friends! We can work together to find a schedule that works for both of us. I live in a one bedroom apartment in a managed building. It is a very pet friendly building and has a fenced in area for dogs. We also have a grooming station.
“Deirdre was so great with our pups! She sent regular updates with photos and kept us up to date on how they were doing. Our older pup gets some pills - she handled that without issue and helped us be away without having to worry at all!!”

We are so grateful to Sue for taking such wonderful care of Harlie and our home while we were away for our daughter’s wedding. Knowing Harlie was in such caring and capable hands—and that our home was being looked after—gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to fully enjoy such a special weekend. Sue was attentive, loving, responsible, and made sure Harlie was comfortable and well cared for. She also took great care of our house and kept everything in order while we were away. It was clear that she treated Harlie like one of her own and our home with the same care and respect. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog and house sitter. We would absolutely recommend Sue to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, dependable, and caring. Thank you, Sue, for taking such great care of Harlie and our home!

Deirdre was fantastic and I highly recommend her to any and all pet owners! Deirdre house sat with our young cat Misty for 2 weeks. We are new pet owners and have never Misty alone for more then 15 hours. We had a big family trip planned, and as really nervous parent, I didn't want Misty to face a stranger on the first day of our trip. Deidre was so kind to come 3 times before we left to get to know Misty and build a bond, and it was clear with all her updates and photos that they really did bond. Misty welcomed us home with good health and happy demeanor. Deirdre took such great care of Misty, I already asked for her to come sit again! Thanks Deirdre!
Emily was such a dedicated and attentive sitter— I highly recommend her! She took amazing care of my dog, Palmer, and sent photos every day. She took her on long walks and provided her with enrichment activities and cuddles for all 5 days that she was with her.

Alessandra was an excellent dog sitter! She was communicative, sent tons of photos, and kept our home just as we left it. She even helped to navigate some unexpected building maintenance issues, which we so appreciated. We would definitely hire her to watch our pup again!

Jess was amazing! She was available last-minute and super flexible with timing in terms of arrival and departure. I felt completely comfortable with her staying in our home and caring for our dog Rayne while we were away. We had an unexpected plumbing issue while we were away which Jess handled calmly and patiently on our behalf. I couldn’t recommend her more!

Janiya was so great with my senior cat! My cat gets medication 2x a day, and Janiya was great about giving it to her and providing me with regular updates and pictures. My cat can be slow to warm up to people, but she was sharing the bed with Janiya on the first night, which made me feel really great. I would and have already booked her for another in-home sitting.

Dani was awesome with our rambunctious pup! Sammie is a big lab puppy who's still learning the rules, and Dani was very skilled, patient, and made sure to give her lots of exercise. She was communicative and took great care of the house. We'll definitely use her again!

Tommy did an excellent job keeping our elderly dog happy, safe, healthy, and loved while we were gone. I had a lot of anxiety leaving the dog behind this vacation, but Tommy did a great job putting my mind at ease. He left the house in great shape and communicated daily throughout the stay. Tommy will be our first choice next time we need a sitter!

I cannot say enough great things about the exceptional care and love my pup received in Jesse’s care. This was the first time we traveled without our high activity, people-needy 18 month old pup so my anxiety was high. Jesse went above and beyond, caring for Willow in her home and making her part of the family. Daily updates with pics and videos assured me that Willow was enjoying her vacation too. I could not imagine better customized care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Milton Village on Rover is $80.25 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Milton Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Milton Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Milton Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
