“Angie was absolutely fabulous with our pup! She was so caring, sent plenty of adorable updates, and treated Maisy like her own. It was clear our dog loved her, too! Without a doubt, we’d love to book with Angie again. Thank you for taking such great care of our pup and our apartment!”

“Flex absolutely adored spending time with Deb. All the walks and sniffs and treats he could want and more. Deb took extremely good care of my boy- we will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Gavin is such a great dog sitter!! He watched our 2 dogs while we were away on vacation & they both loved him. He was available to provide updates via message and picture, followed all the care instructions, and was willing to head over to our apartment early to check on our dogs.”

“Alyssa house/pet sat for us during February break. She took great care of our two huge dogs and we were so grateful to have her keep an eye on the house for us while we traveled to California. Thanks for the peace of mind while we were on vacation! We will definitely be calling again.”

“Belen took such good care of Pedrito! We've had two sitters move out of the area, and I'm so glad it was easy to find Belen who was clear, communicative, and has experience with small, reactive dogs like mine. Belen's calm demeanor is just what my dog needs. She gave him the space and opportunity to approach her when he was ready when they first met, which made a huge difference. He warmed up to her pretty quickly because of that patience. I would definitely recommend booking with Belen. She housesat, which I appreciated because that's the most comfortable for my dog. She sent lots of update pictures and videos while I was away. Can't say enough great things, thanks Belen! I'll definitely be booking with you again for Pedrito!”

“Masiel was friendly and came over a few days before the booking to meet our dog. She got along well with our dog and took him for several walks. She kept us updated with photos and videos. She also kept the house clean. We would definitely book her again. Thank you!”

“Danielle was great! She shared great updates and pics of kuzco while we were traveling and it was clear how much she cared about him being comfortable and having a good time with her!”

“Isis took such great care of our dogs. One was sick and had medicine she needed to distribute, and the other got a UTI while we were away. Isis was able to care for both of them as if they were her own. We got wonderful updates and pictures and had such piece of mind ☺️ We're so glad we met Isis!”

“Ashlee is amazing! I was very hesitant on hiring someone that I did not know to watch my five cats while I was away on vacation for an entire week and Ashlee immediately made me feel comfortable from the second I met her. she stayed at my house and sent me pictures on a regular basis and kept me updated. I can home so relaxed and at ease. I would highly recommend her!”

“Kristina was great!! We had a sitter cancel last minute and consider ourselves VERY lucky that Kristina was available. She did an excellent job dog & house sitting and sent us detailed updates. We will absolutely book with her again!!”

“Janiya was so great with my senior cat! My cat gets medication 2x a day, and Janiya was great about giving it to her and providing me with regular updates and pictures. My cat can be slow to warm up to people, but she was sharing the bed with Janiya on the first night, which made me feel really great. I would and have already booked her for another in-home sitting.”

“Victoria stayed at my house for 5 days and cared for my elderly cat, who needs daily medication. She sent frequent updates and photos and took great care of my dear Nanette. She left the house clean and neat. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again and recommend her highly.”

“Catherine was awesome - we had 3 pups under her watch and all were looked after great (walked, fed, and played with) and had a fun. They were tired when we got back, so we know they enjoyed it!”

“River was able to come and watch our dog for just the evening on semi short notice after he was recovering from surgery. As always she was prompt, communicative and dependable! Wally was so excited to see her and was snuggled up with her all night. Will always recommend her services to anyone looking to hire her!”

About: I have been a pet sitter for a couple years! Also, I have volunteered and interned at a veterinary hospital these experiences helped me become more informed on pet care. My main priority is comfort making sure you are comfortable with entrusting your pet in my care and making sure your pet is comfortable with me. I will do this by allowing the pet to become familiar with me so they aren’t scared and providing treats as well as playful sessions to get them comfortable.

“Nathalia was fantastic! On time, communicative, and thorough. She made sure our very anxious dog was at ease and happy the entire time which isn’t always an easy task! She is everything you would hope for in a sitter!”

“Arik responded quickly to the booking request. We were able to chat on the phone prior to him taking care of my cat Smokey. Arik did a good job sharing daily updates with me, sharing any concerns/habits, and asked questions when needed. I am grateful Smokey was in good hands while I was away. Thank you!”

“Lindsay took such great care of my cat Naomi! She was extremely professional and responsive, and she was so helpful even with some very last minute changes/housesitting needs that I was stressing over. Also had no trouble administering Naomi’s medication and was so attentive to her daily routine. I really appreciated all the detailed updates and cat pics!! I would happily have her catsit for us again :)”

Janiya was so great with my senior cat! My cat gets medication 2x a day, and Janiya was great about giving it to her and providing me with regular updates and pictures. My cat can be slow to warm up to people, but she was sharing the bed with Janiya on the first night, which made me feel really great. I would and have already booked her for another in-home sitting.

Alyssa was communicative and flexible when it came time to meet and take care of our dogs and cat while we took a short road trip. She understood their idiosyncrasies and made sure all their needs were met. We received several updates that they were eating, playing, and resting well while we were away. She kept our dogs happy and safe while going above and beyond as a house sitter (kept the house clean, did her own dishes, even brought the trash cans back after morning pick up). We would recommend her to any family looking for a house sitter and will continue to work with her in the future.

Okay - how about something like this: We’ve had Gabriella stay at our place a couple times to take care of our dog, Holly, while we have been out of town. Gabriella has been wonderful each time and has such patience when dealing with a senior dog. She arrives on time and communicates throughout her stay with pictures and other updates. When we got home this past Sunday, Holly had a calmness that showed she had been well taken care of!

Communication is such a critical element of a successful “sitting” and Leo’s approach is a prime example of a five-star experience. Leo watched my “fur babies” overnight. There was never a time that I wondered how things were going, and if Leo had a question or observation to share, he was quick to reach out. I highly recommend Leo - in fact we have already booked him again!

Christine was amazing with our two dogs! They absolutely loved her. She walked them twice a day, gave them tons of love and attention and play, and was so communicative with us - sending us incredible pictures too! She even washed our sheets and towels she used, which was an added bonus we didn’t expect! Thank you so much Christine! We will be using you again!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Quincy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Quincy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Quincy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Quincy. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
