“Melodi is amazing! 2nd time we leave Ron with her and he could not have had a better time. She does not only take care of him amazingly well but also keeps us updated and sends a ton of pictures, which we appreciate! Melodi is definitely our go-to person whenever we need to leave Ron do to travel or work!”

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! We had the pleasure of leaving Max for the very first time in the care of Hyesoo , and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we booked with Hyesoo she kept us updated with lots of pictures and videos, which made us feel at ease while we were away. Max came back happy, well cared for, and clearly enjoyed his time with her. We’ll definitely be using Hyesoo again in the future, and we highly recommend Hyesoo to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter!”

“This was my second time using Bridget and she was awesome! She was super flexible about drop off and pick up times and sent plenty of pictures! Cleo was so excited to see her and I will definitely use her again! Highly recommend!”

“Silver took such great care of our Lab for us and we would definitely trust him with her care in the future! Communication was great, we got regular photos and updates and we could tell she was happy and in good hands. Thanks Silver!”

“Julie was amazing! She sent us pictures of Pepés adventures and told us about all the fun things they did. It was like a luxury vacation for pepé, he loved it. We will be return customers!”

“Joshua treated our dog Arthur like one of his own and provided updates throughout their time together. This was our first time booking boarding services through rover so we were a bit nervous and Joshua made us feel at ease!”

“Jim was such a great sitter! We decided on a last minute trip to Florida and reached out to Jim the day before we left and he was happy to take Enzo for us! Highly recommend!”

“Jagger loved Victoria, he had so much fun, and was so well taken care of!! He was in a loving and safe environment, so I was able to enjoy my trip worry free! Victoria was great at sending updates and pictures. I hope Jagger will be able to stay with Victoria again soon!! It was a wonderful experience!”

“Joseph took great care of my little Frenchie back in January. I had to change my plans quickly due to my pup going into heat super early and a few days before our trip. It was stressful to try and find someone quick that I could trust with my literal child but Joseph made it SO much easier even accommodating pick up and drop off. He sent me lot of picture updates and kept me well informed when she was having tummy issues (due to her heat). I tend to worry about my pup a lot due to her breed and the strict routine I have to make sure she is healthy (if you have a Frenchie you know lol).”

“Elise watched our dog Boone very last minute for us - Greatly appreciated! Boone can get stressed out in new settings, but just arrived home happy as ever. Both my husband and I had great interactions with Elise. She sent pictures and assured us that he was doing well. We would definitely recommend her and plan on using her in the future!”
About: I’ve been caring for family pets for over 10 years and have developed a deep understanding of the attention, patience, and love that animals need. From daily walks and playtime to feeding routines and basic grooming, I’ve helped care for dogs of all ages and personalities. I’m comfortable handling pets with different energy levels and temperaments, and I always prioritize their safety and well-being. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. I just graduated from Suffolk Law and will be home studying for the bar exam all summer! Having furry friends around is a great way to unwind and recharge from studying! Your dog’s safety is my top priority every step of the way. I take great care to make sure each pup is safe, secure, and stress-free! Whether we’re on a walk, playing in the yard, or hanging out indoors.
“Nola and Damian were so great! This was our first time using Rover and we were a little hesitant about leaving Toki with someone new. However, they made us feel super comfortable and clearly took great care of her during our time away.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, and caring for them isn’t just something I enjoy, it’s who I am. Back home in Ecuador, my two dogs, Pepper (a Jack Russell) and Pinky (a Senior Chihuahua), along with Mi Niño (my rescued cat), are truly my whole world. Being away from them now while living in Boston has only made me realize how much joy and purpose animals bring into my life. I grew up with not one, not two, but three Jack Russells, so if you know the breed, you know they’re full of energy and personality. That means I come with plenty of real, hands on experience, patience, and the ability to handle even the most active pups. I am currently a Psychology student in Boston and a Intern at Boston Children’s Hospital, where I work on the HBCD Study. I have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs throughout the week. Right now, I live in an apartment in Seaport and nothing would make me happier than having the chance to care for, support, and give attention to pets who need it. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own. I have a very flexible schedule and am available all day on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I am available after 4:00 PM. I do my best to accommodate each pet owner's needs and am happy to discuss scheduling options to find what works best for you and your pet! In my care, I make sure pets feel comfortable and secure by following their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions from the owner. I take time to understand each pet’s personality, energy level, and boundaries so I can adapt my care to what makes them feel safest and happiest. In a client’s home, I am very respectful of the space and keep everything clean and organized. I make sure doors and windows are secure, follow all safety instructions carefully, and always keep a close eye on the pet to prevent any accidents or stressful situations.
“Michaela took great care of my two dogs during their 4 night stay. They enjoyed all of the attention and snuggles they received! Michaela is an excellent communicator and trustworthy!”

“Stocai had the best day with Jessica and Desmond. They went to a big park out in the burbs and ran around all day- such a treat! She was exhausted when she came home! :)”
“Nancy was incredible!!! I felt so safe with her having my girl and she spoiled her. She kept me up to date and took amazing care of all of Petunias needs. I couldn’t be more grateful and will definitely use her again.”

“Charlie had a great stay with Christina! I was nervous leaving Charlie and Christina sent photos throughout the stay so I could see what she was up to. Charlie had lots of walkies and snuggles and enjoyed her visit.”

“Nalix was great with my boy Bentley, very understanding and a true dog person. I was provided pics, which I always appreciate and was glad to see my boy looked happy. My dog is a senior and Nalix was very patient and kind with him, I felt very assured while I was away for a couple of days.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Boston
Leah took amazing care of Buggy. We were initially worried that he may not adjust well due to this being his first time away from home. Leah made sure to keep a close eye on him as he adjusted. Buggy came home happy and excited. He was clearly very comfortable in Leah’s care. We look forward to booking with Leah again

We had a wonderful experience with Kat and Matthew! This was our Suki's first overnight stay away from home, so we were naturally a little nervous, but they made us feel completely at ease from the start with their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. They were very thorough with their drop-off instructions and were so receptive/attentive to the "Suki Care Guide" we provided, which was much appreciated! During Suki's stay, they sent detailed daily updates with lots of pictures and videos and were always quick to respond, which gave us so much peace of mind. Suki was a little anxious and whined her first night, but Kat and Matthew were incredibly patient and understanding, helping her settle in and become much more comfortable over the following nights. We also really appreciated that they kept up with Suki's regular grooming by brushing her during her stay, which showed how much they truly cared about maintaining her normal routine. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better first overnight boarding experience. Suki was in such caring, attentive hands, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with Kat and Matthew again. We highly recommend them!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
