“We had a great experience with Elizabeth and Rodrigo! There was daily communication as well as photo updates — our dog looked right at home! We had total peace of mind while we were away. Murphy already can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!”

“Charlie had a great stay with Christina! I was nervous leaving Charlie and Christina sent photos throughout the stay so I could see what she was up to. Charlie had lots of walkies and snuggles and enjoyed her visit.”

“Tiffany was awesome! We left our 3yr old Boxer with her for a week over Christmas, and she had us totally at ease while we were away. She sent lots of photo updates, and some fun videos of him playing as well. She genuinely cares about the pups she boards, and treats them like her own. I will definitely be using her services again!”

“Leah was absolutely incredible, and I couldn't have asked for a better first boarding experience for my puppy, Luna. As a first-time puppy parent being away for several days, I was naturally a little nervous, but Leah went above and beyond to make sure Luna felt comfortable, safe, and happy every step of the way. Leah was incredibly caring, thoughtful, and attentive to Luna's needs. Not only did she take her on neighborhood walks, but she also arranged fun outings where Luna got to socialize with other people and dogs, which she absolutely loved. Leah sent multiple updates and photos every day, so I always knew how Luna was doing, and her communication was consistently prompt and reassuring. The entire experience was seamless from start to finish, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing Luna was in such wonderful hands. I would book with Leah again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will truly care for their pet like their own.”

“Miley stayed with Aurora for 4 nights while I was away on a vacation. Her pup Madi and Miley became BFF’s. She sent regular updates and she was very prompt and quick responding to my texts. Miley is my daughter and I’m very nervous leaving her at someone’s place. But Aurora did a a great job taking care of Miley and treated her like her own pup. I would definitely like Miley to have her next vacation at her place. Adding to this their pup Madi is a wonderful dog very friendly.”

“Julie did an amazing job taking care of our cat, Cal! He is usually shy and fearful of strangers, but she was incredibly patient with him and soon coaxed him out of his shell. Julie also did a great job of sending us a constant stream of pictures and updates. I highly recommend her!”

“Jagger loved Victoria, he had so much fun, and was so well taken care of!! He was in a loving and safe environment, so I was able to enjoy my trip worry free! Victoria was great at sending updates and pictures. I hope Jagger will be able to stay with Victoria again soon!! It was a wonderful experience!”

“Svetlana did an amazing job taking care of Kaia! She absolutely adored Kaia and sent so many updates. We felt at ease and did not have to worry about Kaia during our time away.”

“Antonio was great with our two dogs. We will be leaving them for a longer period soon, but wanted to do a trial run to make sure it would work. I appreciate him being in contact with us as we planned this out, and his working to understand the needs of one of our dogs who has separation anxiety.”

“Wonderful experience. Sarah took in our two pups on a last minute booking for the weekend, made sure she had all the details about their care, and sent pictures of how well they were doing. We were confident they were in good hands.”

“Brooklyn watched our Sydney for a quick overnight. She was very kind and responsive. Very accommodating of our pup's schedule and needs. We felt very at ease knowing she was in good hands”

“Emily was wonderful with our little schnoodle Theo! We had forgotten to book a sitter when heading out of town for the weekend and Emily was very welcoming and flexible with scheduling the last minute booking. She took great care of Theo and was very accommodating of our unpredictable timing driving back through traffic ti get home to Boston. I would definitely recommend her and book with her again in the future!”

“Jim was such a great sitter! We decided on a last minute trip to Florida and reached out to Jim the day before we left and he was happy to take Enzo for us! Highly recommend!”

“Linda was super nice with Aloe. She kept us up to date with how she was doing. We know Aloe sometimes can be too much, but we were impressed how Linda was able to become her friend in such a short time. Aloe was in great hands I would strongly recommend Linda and will don't think twice in asking her again to take care of our little one. 10/10”

“Guillermo did a fantastic job with my dog, Kiara. She gets nervous around new people, so it’s always tough for me to leave her. I booked an overnight stay with Guillermo to see if they’d be a good fit, and it went perfectly. As soon as I arrived, I felt comfortable. Guillermo showed me around the house so I could see where Kiara would stay, which put me at ease. Kiara quickly warmed up to him and didn’t seem upset when I left. During the day, Guillermo sent thoughtful updates and photos, which really helped me relax. When I came back to pick up Kiara, she was happy to see me. She gave me a few kisses and then settled on the couch like she was at home. I really appreciated Guillermo’s care, communication, and the calm, friendly atmosphere he created. I have already booked with him again.”

“Sarah is a winderful dog care provider. She was very attentive to the needs of Blackberry now that he has some medical challenges. She sent thoughtful photos that made me feel assured that Bberry was doing well. Thank you Sarah!”

“Logan and her dog Gus were wonderful with my golden. Logan has a natural confidence and calm presence that the dogs respond to immediately — they listen to her and clearly feel comfortable around her. She handled everything with ease and professionalism. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such capable hands. Highly recommend!”

Leah took amazing care of Buggy. We were initially worried that he may not adjust well due to this being his first time away from home. Leah made sure to keep a close eye on him as he adjusted. Buggy came home happy and excited. He was clearly very comfortable in Leah’s care. We look forward to booking with Leah again

Mallory is so awesome to work with. She provides frequent and detailed updates with pictures of her adventures with Guinness. Guinness had to take medication while in Mallory’s care, and she had no issues taking on this extra responsibility at the last minute. She sent Guinness home with detailed time stamps of when he received his medicine. Mallory goes above and beyond every time. I am confident Guinness is in the best care whenever he stays with Mallory, and he even cries when it’s time to go home.

Haowen and Yi were wonderful again with Lil’ Dan! He clearly was well taken care of and having the best time with them. He especially loved the dog park at their building and endless time to play and explore. This was Dan’s second time with them and we felt great knowing he was safe and loved. We loved all the photos and communication. We are so grateful and would definitely book again!!

Monica was an amazing dog sitter! She sent lots of updates and pictures so I could see how well my little anxious dog was doing with them from the very first day through the entire eight day stay for my senior schnauzer poodle with terrible separation anxiety. She was the perfect dog sitter for my pup, she kept her entertained and busy so she didn't even cry when I left her there! I got to actually enjoy my vacation, and do things I've been looking forward to without my dog, all while knowing my little love was in the best hands. My review for Monica would have to highlight her reliability, the warmth in her home she provided for my dog, and her professionalism. I will absolutely be using Monica for my dog sitting needs in the future.

My dog Bear had a great time staying here! He’s leash reactive and Richard and Julia did a great job of making sure he kept his distance from other dogs during his stay, which I really appreciated. They sent lots of photos & updates which was much appreciated! Bear loved them and would definitely stay there again

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
