“This is the second time that Savannah has watched our pet. She is always very communicative and punctual in all her check ins. She sent us lots of photos of our furry one with each visit. I also appreciated Savannah's flexibility when we had to add some extra days beyond the booking . Thank you for all you have done for Ms. B!”

“Erin was a wonderful catsitter for our boy Merlot! She was kind, respectful, responsible, and communicative. We asked to receive picture updates and received daily photos of well-loved cat. I would recommend Erin without hesitation and will gladly ask her to watch Merlot again.”

“Having someone experienced with giving cats inhalers was the most important thing, and Liz handled it perfectly. This was by far the easiest time leaving the cats alone for me: I trusted Liz completely. Super caring and devoted to making sure our cats had the best time.”

“Soli is amazing! Such a wonderful, kind, and professional catsitter. Especially appreciate her persistence and patience in resolving a house access issue due to a miscommunication that was squarely on our end. Would recommend Soli to any cat parents without reservation and will likely book her again if we need to use Rover!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for as long as I can remember. Most of my friends and family have dogs that I have cared for and my family rescued a husky lab mix during Covid so I finally got to experience caring for a pet first hand. Because he’s a rescue, I’ve had a lot of experience dealing with adjusting to new surroundings and experiences, training, and dealing with different temperaments. Also had exposure to many different breads. Live in East Boston in a pet friendly apartment so happy to walk/do overnights in my apartment or yours. I don’t have a backyard but live very close to Eastie’s best parks and green spaces where I’m usually walking anyway! I have a hybrid job so on days where I’m working from home I can walk in between meetings if I’m sitting for longer than a day. Have much more flexibility on Fridays and weekends. I don’t have a backyard but live less than a 5 minute walk from East Boston’s best parks and green spaces. My apartment is pet friendly and there is ample space. Can crate dog if needed.
“annaliese did an excellent job taking care of our sweet but shy cat, she quickly gained his trust which is not always easy to do. she always responded to my messages quickly. we will definitely hire her again 😻”

“Marissa was very responsive and on top of all communications. She gave great updates! My cat tends to get shy around new people, but she really took a liking to Marissa! It was nice knowing my cat was in good hands while I was away.”

“Svetlana took wonderful care of Cosmo, our cat, giving him all the love, cuddles, and attention he needed while we were away. He’s usually quite shy around new people, but he warmed up to her very quickly. We received consistent updates and photos the entire time, which gave us such peace of mind. We’re incredibly grateful and highly recommend her!”

“Had my first drop in with Emily and she was so reassuring! She sent me pictures and updates during the drop in and was very in tune with my dog’s temperament. She genuinely cares about you and your dog!! If you are looking for someone to trust your dog with, Emily is the person!”

“We asked Arianna for a drop in visit of our cats and take care of their food and litter and renew their water. She was very helpful and even though our cats are afraid of other people, she knew how to make them feel comfortable. I recommend her to any cat owner and ask her to look out after them in the future whenever I travel.”

“Emily is AMAZING! She cared for my pup, Peanut during Thanksgiving for me. I got home and I swear she was looking for Emily and not me, when I walked through the door. Would 10/10 recommend her to take excellent care of your pup too!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’m very attentive, patient, and caring, and I understand how important it is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, or just keeping them company, I’ll treat your pet like they’re my own. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to be available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet care when needed. I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine and do my best to accommodate different times throughout the week. I make sure to follow their normal routine as closely as possible. I’ll pay attention to feeding instructions, water, walks, litter box cleaning, playtime, medications if needed, and any special notes
“Brittany was so wonderful to work with! She took care of my cat for a weekend and sent a thoughtful update after each visit. I'm so grateful and would definitely choose her again!”

“Lindsey was a great day sitter! She sent us detailed report each day with many pictures and it helped make us feel less anxious about leaving our two kitties for five days. She went above and beyond, not just feeding them each day but also playing with them using their favorite toys, scooping the litter box every day, changing it once, and even cleaned up a couple hairballs. We could tell that our kitties bonded with her and will miss her now that we're home. Everything we expected in a car sitter and more. We'll definitely use Lindsey again!”

“Was able to come a check in on my baby last minute before the storm! I got stuck out of the country and was not going to be home when I thought and she made sure he was okay. Thank you so much. A life saver!”

“Ingrid has been so great with our puppy Addie!! She is always working with our busy schedule and constant training changes that come with a puppy. She is very responsive and I know Addie loves to see her when she drops in. Highly recommend, we are so glad we found her!”

Annaliese was incredibly thoughtful, caring, and attentive to my kitten. I truly could not have asked for a better pet sitter. She went above and beyond to make sure that Skippito was happy, comfortable, and loved. In addition, she was very communicative and kept me in the loop with how my little guy was doing the entire duration of my trip away.

I can’t say enough good about Yu. She was so sweet with our kitty, spent lots of quality time with her while we were gone, and sent us so many wonderful videos and photos! I would absolutely hire her again. She was extremely flexible and understanding as my schedule kept changing. 10/10 recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Boston. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
