“Kristina did a fantastic job taking care of my 2 dogs and cat while I was away! Her detailed updates and myriad of adorable pics gave me confidence everyone was being very well taken care of while I was away. We'll definitely be booking Kristina again in the future”
“Jean and Tom L. House sitting - August 15, 2025 Five Stars. Lauren was outstanding. She took exceptional care of Our Bischone, Rosie. It was the first time we had a non-family member watch our dog. Rosie is very skittish and anxious around people she does not know. However, Lauren took great care to set Rosie at ease. We highly recommend Lauren and are planning to book her again.”

“Our dog Penny adores Skylar! We got so many great updates of their cuddles and walks during our 2 weeks away. We already have plans to book Skylar again, and I know Penny will jump for joy when Skylar comes back to our house.”

“Kelly is a great sitter and always leaves our place in great condition after her stay. Our animals are well taken care of and they definitely enjoy her as their sitter”

“Angie was absolutely fabulous with our pup! She was so caring, sent plenty of adorable updates, and treated Maisy like her own. It was clear our dog loved her, too! Without a doubt, we’d love to book with Angie again. Thank you for taking such great care of our pup and our apartment!”

“We're so grateful to Melissa for taking such good care of our wonderful but neurotic dog Birdie! Melissa is communicative, responsible, and clearly loves dogs. We would have her to sit for Birdie again anytime.”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for as long as I can remember. Most of my friends and family have dogs that I have cared for and my family rescued a husky lab mix during Covid so I finally got to experience caring for a pet first hand. Because he’s a rescue, I’ve had a lot of experience dealing with adjusting to new surroundings and experiences, training, and dealing with different temperaments. Also had exposure to many different breads. Live in East Boston in a pet friendly apartment so happy to walk/do overnights in my apartment or yours. I don’t have a backyard but live very close to Eastie’s best parks and green spaces where I’m usually walking anyway! I have a hybrid job so on days where I’m working from home I can walk in between meetings if I’m sitting for longer than a day. Have much more flexibility on Fridays and weekends. I don’t have a backyard but live less than a 5 minute walk from East Boston’s best parks and green spaces. My apartment is pet friendly and there is ample space. Can crate dog if needed.
“Jamie is an absolute lifesaver. She watches Maui most days while I’m at work, and I couldn’t ask for a better person to trust with my dog. She’s attentive, patient, and genuinely loves her, which shows in how happy and relaxed Maui is around her. She was even able to cut Mauis nails and brush her teeth which is literally a miracle considering Maui doesn’t allow anyone to do it (including me). Knowing Maui is cared for by someone so responsible and kind gives me total peace of mind. I’m beyond grateful to have her as both a roommate and someone Maui adores.”

“Emily was great house sitting my cat! She is very easy to work with, communicative, respectful, and sent me updates! Thank you so much for your help Emily. Will definitely be asking her to sit again!”

“Adrian was calm, patient, and caring. Our dog can be reactive and Adrian showed great poise, confidence, and a gentle hand. He quickly won our dogs trust and they had a good couple of days together. Adrian was very responsive and communicative with us which I appreciated.”

“Haowen was very communicative and sent at least 10 photos a day, the most photos I’ve ever had from any sitter! He was upfront and honest when our dog had a little vomit from running around after eating too soon, and managed his multiple medications as a senior dog.”

“Soli was awesome and we will absolutely be requesting her services again. She was kind/friendly, treated our home like her own, and most importantly she was great with our dog. I got regular updates from Soli that gave me peace of mind and confidence that Murray was in good hands. I highly recommend Soli for dog sitting!”

“Christine was wonderful! She was very communicative while house sitting our pup and it was nice to see him be comfortable with her in such a short amount of time. We’ll definitely be rebooking when she’s available!”

“Erin did an amazing job taking care of our guy. She was great at communicating when she’d given his medication and sent tons of photos. Not only that, he warmed up to her immediately and clearly loved her company. She so far exceeded our expectations - anyone (or cat) would be lucky to work with Erin!”

“Amy has done a great job taking care of our two cats and our house. This is the third time she's stayed here, and we plan to hire her again. She clearly loves cats, and we can tell our guys like her too.”

“I’m afraid to leave this review because Sasha may have less availability in the future, not that I’m so influential…lol. However, I must say that my dogs, who have separation anxiety, took to Sasha like no other dog sitter we have had! The communication and engagement throughout her stay was excellent. We got pictures and feedback while she was with the dogs and she answered all our messages very quickly. I could tell by the pictures that our girls were very comfortable and happy and that means the world to us. Perhaps these empty nesters will actually get to go away for a weekend in the near future! Sasha welcomed my list of instructions and followed through and left our dogs and our home in great shape. I couldn’t be happier!”

“Masiel did amazing with Saint! She kept Saint entertained and kept me updated throughout my trip. She also cleaned up a bit before leaving which she did not have to at all. Overall, Masiel was great and I will book her for future dates. Thank you so much, Masiel💗”

“I had a wonderful experience with Victoria (Rev). We recently moved to Boston and Rev stayed in my apartment with Charlie for 5 nights, which is the longest I have had to leave him since moving. Charlie is older and has been a little anxious while adjusting to our move and it was clear that Rev gave him the love and attention he needed to keep him calm while I was away. Rev sent regular updates and photos, which helped keep my mind at ease. My flight was delayed and Rev was super accommodating to stick around until I got home. I would absolutely recommend Rev to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and truly exceptional dog sitter. We look forward to working with Rev in the future!”

Triin was the perfect sitter! She was able to ensure all of Clancy’s needs were met while we were away from our puppy for the first time. Triin’s attention to detail and ability to provide the appropriate training, play and care for Clancy made us feel relieved and comfortable to leave Clancy with her. Thank you, Triin! Would recommend her to anyone!

We chose James based on his glowing reviews and let me just say, I am SO glad we did. I wish there was an option to give 10 stars. We have 2 very different dogs. One is very quirky and James was not only willing, but seemed excited to play bubbles, the hose, and even late night beach ball with him. He sent us great updates, photos and videos, some so funny that I have rewatched them too many times. This was the first time I came home and genuinely worried my dog would miss James and want him over me lol. He left our house spotless, took great care of everything around the house. Even was flexible enough to leave in the early morning hours because we came in on a red eye. He is the BEST. Anyone is lucky to have him as a dog sitter. Brady and Winston miss him already.
Valeria took great care of my Dobby while also house sitting! She sent me regular updates on his eating and walks and even cuddled with him at night 🥹 She also left everything tidy for our return. Overall super great experience and I will happily have her take care of Dobby again. Thanks Vale!

Danielle did a fantastic job taking care of my dogs while I was away for a couple days. She had great communication, keeping me updated with how they were doing/ what was going on and included great pictures of the dogs! Danielle is very trustworthy and I’m extremely grateful that everything went smooth. I would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter!

Juliana watched our dog and cat for a week, and her conscientiousness, anticipation of their needs, and excellent communication really stood out. Our beloved companions were safe, clearly well-loved, and kept happy and stimulated while we were away. She also took wonderful care of our home—everything was left exactly as we found it, if not better. We had complete confidence in Juliana and would absolutely have her stay with them again. Thank you, Juliana!

I cannot recommend Arik enough - he did an excellent job housesitting my Cane Corso and I will definitely be booking with him again. From start to finish, communication, clear was easy and prompt. Throughout the stay Arik sent plenty of photos of my pup, and my dog was as happy as could be in every update. He also took great care of my apartment! I highly recommend Arik, especially if you have a large guardian breed - experienced, confident, and trustworthy sitters are hard to come by and he excelled on all fronts.

Absolutely phenomenal dogsitter. Haowen has dog and house sat for us several times, mostly recent for 3 weeks. our pup was loved and cared for, all our instructions were followed and we didn't worry about the house or dog once while we were gone. Highly recommend!!

Jessica was amazing with our 10 month old puppy, Max, while we had to travel across country for a wedding. Jessica shared pictures/videos while we were away and was always great with communication. She is so kind, very respectful of our home and followed care instructions perfectly. She truly went above and beyond. We would absolutely have Jessica take care of our Max again in the future and would recommend her to anyone in need!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Boston walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Boston maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Boston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
