About: I have been around pets for as long as I can remember. I have two labradors, one 14 year old and one 4 year old, so I have experience with puppy’s and elderly dogs! I have always been in charge of taking the dogs on walks, and I have been covering for my sisters Rover dog walks when needed :) As of now I am unemployed for the summer, so I have a lot of availability! I am going on a couple short trips this summer, and will be going to the University of Miami in August, but other than that I am very available! I lived in a suburb until moving to Boston this month, so I am familiar with both yard and city environments. We used a crate until my dog was about 2, I like to keep them leashed and close to me, and I always keep their waters full!
“Rachel was so good with Fergus and was very communicative while I was away! I loved that she came over for a meet and greet beforehand to make sure she knew where everything was. Would definitely book her again!”

“Once again our 2 pugs had a great weekend with Casey! Not only did we get lots of great pictures with them walking, eating and playing, but we had the peace of mind that they were happy and well taken care of. Thank you again, Casey:)”

“Abigail was amazing! She sent lots of pics, played a lot with our cats, and gave them lots of love. She also did a great job with our Guinea Pig and with giving our skittish cat his oral medication :)”

“Emily has consistently been amazing! the most patient, calm, and thorough cat-sitter for my cat. She’s very communicative, and you can really tell her love for animals shines through. My cat loves to snuggle with her and play, and she sends lots of pictures/updates. Emily has also been super flexible and careful about taking good care of my space whenever she’s pet-sitting, which is something I really value. Highly recommend!”

About: Growing up in a 5 family member household, I’ve had hands on experience caring for 1 dog and 2 cats where I would regularly clean, feed, play and walk them (walking didn’t include the cats! 😆) on a consistent basis. I also have experience working as a Teacher Assistant for children with disabilities—ABA trained where I learned the importance of adaptability. Every child is different and so is your pet! Friday, Saturday and Sunday are my free days! I’m also available Monday-Thursday from 6AM-8AM in the morning plus 6PM-9PM in the evening. Thank you for your interest and I’ll look forward to caring for your pets around these times! 🐾 I’ll provide reliable care for pets by following the owner’s instructions closely and maintaining their normal routine and comfortability as much as possible. During drop-in visits, I’ll check on the pet’s food, water, and clean up if needed. I’ll also spend time playing with them of course (unless owner says otherwise!) If requested, I can also take dogs for short walks or let them out for bathroom breaks. I’ll be sure to send updates and photos as well so the owner is informed and comfortable while they’re away. Any other request, thoughts and concerns can be expressed through messages and in person (I’m very adaptable).
“We're so happy to have connected with Emily not only because the cat likes her and does well spending time with her, but she's such a pleasure to work with--responsive, reliable and very conscientious, kitty-focused and attentive to detail. We found a great fit!”

“Stephanie did a great job troubleshooting giving medicine to our cat, even when our cat was being difficult. She was also very communicative about how everything was going. We would book again!”

“Mina was so great with my kitty! She came to meet my cat the day before, sent me pics, played with all the teaser toys and even helped clean up a mess the cat made when I was away. I was fortunate she was available last minute! I definitely would ask Mina to check in on my cat while I’m gone again.”

About: I’ve been the designated pet sitter in my family for several years now, and I’m trying to expand operations. I don’t have pets of my own so I am so excited to befriend yours! I currently have a freelance job mostly from home that I do work for in the evenings, but I am wide open during the day and love having reasons to walk around the city! When visiting pets, I’m always very careful not to let them slip out the door, and once I’m in I’m very willing to take it at the pet’s pace! I’m experienced with waiting out nervous ones or throwing toys over and over and over for energetic ones!
“Jenna did an AMAZING job taking care of my girl Ivy! She was so attentive to her needs, followed instructions clearly, communicated with me quickly and efficiently, and made sure Ivy was her sole focus of attention, playing with her using her favorite toys and giving her lots of love!! You can tell Jenna is passionate about what she does and the pets she cares for! I will definitely be reaching back out to her in the future and highly recommend her if you need someone to watch your fur babies!🙌💓🐾”

“Madison accommodated a last minute booking and immediately gave us peace of mind with her professionalism and communication. Handled my dog’s special needs expertly. Will definitely book again!”

“Emma was great! Asked for a last-minute drop-in and she accommodated, even though I asked for a few specific things. Will definitely work with her again!”

“Caitlyn took excellent care of Noodle! She was very communicative throughout our absence and kept us updated with pics of her visit and Noodle took an immediate liking to her. We would not hesitate to have Caitlyn as a sitter again.”

“Hannah is wonderful and my go- to cat sitter! She is very responsible, is an excellent communicator and my cat loves her ( my cat doesn’t like most people, to be honest- haha). I highly recommend her!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Boston
Nicole was an amazing pet sitter and extremely reliable throughout the three days she cared for my cats. She always arrived at the agreed time, stayed for the full 30-minute visit, and was very attentive to every detail. She carefully fed them and made sure their automatic litter box, water fountain, and feeder were all working properly. She also sent me plenty of pictures and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind and allowed me to enjoy my trip knowing my cats were safe and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Nicole and would be very happy to book with her again!

Aash is the perfect cat sitter, as always she took amazing care of our girls and they loved seeing her! Our very shy cat even sat in her lap, and she doesn’t even come out for strangers. I will always book Aash and you should too for the best possible care your cats can get!

Annaliese was incredibly thoughtful, caring, and attentive to my kitten. I truly could not have asked for a better pet sitter. She went above and beyond to make sure that Skippito was happy, comfortable, and loved. In addition, she was very communicative and kept me in the loop with how my little guy was doing the entire duration of my trip away.

I can’t say enough good about Yu. She was so sweet with our kitty, spent lots of quality time with her while we were gone, and sent us so many wonderful videos and photos! I would absolutely hire her again. She was extremely flexible and understanding as my schedule kept changing. 10/10 recommend!

We couldn't have asked for a better cat sitter! From the moment we met at the meet and greet, it was clear that our cat was in caring, capable, and experienced hands. Not only did Jenin provide lots of love, attention, and regular updates while we were away, but she also confidently administered our cat's insulin injections twice a day with great care and professionalism. Knowing that our diabetic cat was receiving the correct medication on schedule gave us complete peace of mind, which is priceless when you're away from home. We have already booked Jenin for our next vacation, knowing that our cat will be very well cared for while we are away.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boston. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
