About: I have been around pets for as long as I can remember. I have two labradors, one 14 year old and one 4 year old, so I have experience with puppy’s and elderly dogs! I have always been in charge of taking the dogs on walks, and I have been covering for my sisters Rover dog walks when needed :) As of now I am unemployed for the summer, so I have a lot of availability! I am going on a couple short trips this summer, and will be going to the University of Miami in August, but other than that I am very available! I lived in a suburb until moving to Boston this month, so I am familiar with both yard and city environments. We used a crate until my dog was about 2, I like to keep them leashed and close to me, and I always keep their waters full!
“Jenin is exactly what you want in a sitter - amazing communication, lots of pictures, and a real sense they care about your pet. Highly recommend booking their services!!”

“Erin did a phenomenal job watching my two cats while I was away. She was patient and understanding of their shyness. She was able to give my cat with asthma her inhaler, even though the cat is still learning. She was clear and communicative on updates and pictures. I have more travel coming up and am so grateful I have someone to trust with the kitties!”

“Casey was so great! We requested her cat sitting services last minute and she easily accommodated us in. She sent us lots of photos and updates and our cat even came out while she was there, which is rare!! Casey was also always within the time frame she said she would come and made the whole process really easy and smooth. Will be booking her again. Thanks, Casey! :)”

About: I love dogs of all shapes and sizes and I’m hoping I get to play around with as many as possible. I can’t think of a better way to send my days! I’m free all afternoon Monday to Thursday so I’m hoping to fill that time up taking care of pets! It just seems like a fun thing to do I’ve had cats and dogs since I can remember and they just bring happiness to my life of if I hope to do the same to your pets
“Emily is amazing and truly loved pups. I truly felt so safe having her there and in our home! I’m definitely excited to work with her in the future and I’m super grateful for her.”

“Stephanie did a great job troubleshooting giving medicine to our cat, even when our cat was being difficult. She was also very communicative about how everything was going. We would book again!”

“Abigail was such a wonderful sitter to our cat. Very punctual, super quick at answering messages, sent plenty of pictures every visit. I highly recommend her!”

About: Hi! I grew up with dogs & cats throughout my childhood and then got a dog of my own during COVID. Due to a breakup, I no longer have my dog & have been chasing to get puppy snuggles wherever possible. I have dog sat for friends and family countless time. I also volunteer occasionally at the Animal Rescue League of NH & also am looking forward to find a MA organization, now that I live down in MA! I work full time with 2 days in the office. The other 3 weekdays, I work fully remote & am flexible! If you live close by, I can stop by to let your dog out, take them for a walk or just give them some love for a bit. And of course, I’d love to stay at your home if needed (and could even work remotely from there if you’re okay with that!) I’m happy to accommodate to whatever you need in your own home! Since I don’t own my current place & have a dog living here currently, I am only offering services outside of my house. This will include- dog walking & in house visits/stays for cats & dogs. However, that means you get to tell me where everything is & we don’t need to take your perfect dog/cat out of their safe space. 🤍
“Jenna did an AMAZING job taking care of my girl Ivy! She was so attentive to her needs, followed instructions clearly, communicated with me quickly and efficiently, and made sure Ivy was her sole focus of attention, playing with her using her favorite toys and giving her lots of love!! You can tell Jenna is passionate about what she does and the pets she cares for! I will definitely be reaching back out to her in the future and highly recommend her if you need someone to watch your fur babies!🙌💓🐾”

“I really appreciated how patient Mina was with my ever-so-nervous cat who spent most of her time hiding. Mina brought toys, gave her treats and had a lot of patience. Thank you for such great care!”

About: I’ve been the designated pet sitter in my family for several years now, and I’m trying to expand operations. I don’t have pets of my own so I am so excited to befriend yours! I currently have a freelance job mostly from home that I do work for in the evenings, but I am wide open during the day and love having reasons to walk around the city! When visiting pets, I’m always very careful not to let them slip out the door, and once I’m in I’m very willing to take it at the pet’s pace! I’m experienced with waiting out nervous ones or throwing toys over and over and over for energetic ones!
“Emily did such a great job with Ziggy and Smokey! She was consistent, attentive, and super communicative. I felt like my babies were loved and well cared for while I was away.”

“Emma was great! Asked for a last-minute drop-in and she accommodated, even though I asked for a few specific things. Will definitely work with her again!”

“Thank you Hannah for taking such wonderful care of our elderly and shy kitty! She really took to you , which I’m sure took quite a bit of effort on your part. Thank you again!!!!”

“Caitlyn took excellent care of Noodle! She was very communicative throughout our absence and kept us updated with pics of her visit and Noodle took an immediate liking to her. We would not hesitate to have Caitlyn as a sitter again.”

Nicole was an amazing pet sitter and extremely reliable throughout the three days she cared for my cats. She always arrived at the agreed time, stayed for the full 30-minute visit, and was very attentive to every detail. She carefully fed them and made sure their automatic litter box, water fountain, and feeder were all working properly. She also sent me plenty of pictures and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind and allowed me to enjoy my trip knowing my cats were safe and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Nicole and would be very happy to book with her again!

Aash is the perfect cat sitter, as always she took amazing care of our girls and they loved seeing her! Our very shy cat even sat in her lap, and she doesn’t even come out for strangers. I will always book Aash and you should too for the best possible care your cats can get!

Annaliese was incredibly thoughtful, caring, and attentive to my kitten. I truly could not have asked for a better pet sitter. She went above and beyond to make sure that Skippito was happy, comfortable, and loved. In addition, she was very communicative and kept me in the loop with how my little guy was doing the entire duration of my trip away.

I can’t say enough good about Yu. She was so sweet with our kitty, spent lots of quality time with her while we were gone, and sent us so many wonderful videos and photos! I would absolutely hire her again. She was extremely flexible and understanding as my schedule kept changing. 10/10 recommend!

We couldn't have asked for a better cat sitter! From the moment we met at the meet and greet, it was clear that our cat was in caring, capable, and experienced hands. Not only did Jenin provide lots of love, attention, and regular updates while we were away, but she also confidently administered our cat's insulin injections twice a day with great care and professionalism. Knowing that our diabetic cat was receiving the correct medication on schedule gave us complete peace of mind, which is priceless when you're away from home. We have already booked Jenin for our next vacation, knowing that our cat will be very well cared for while we are away.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boston. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
