About: I’ve been taking care of my own pets and others’ since I was about 8 years old. Friends and family have always trusted me with their pet-sitting needs, and I genuinely love being able to help out. I grew up with both cats and dogs (and a few other animals along the way!), and spent a lot of time training and doing agility work with my family’s Border Collie. I have experience with pets of all ages, from puppies to senior pets, as well as all sizes and temperaments. I’m also comfortable administering medications to your pets, and have had experience doing this with both cats and dogs. I did a lot of dog walking this summer during the weekdays (and loved it!) , but I’m starting a new position in July so my availability is going to shift to weekends only. My cats are indoor cats and have plenty of access to toys, climbing trees/stimulation, food and water, and their litter box! I would ensure that your pets are extremely well cared for according to your instructions.
“Thank you Hannah for taking such wonderful care of our elderly and shy kitty! She really took to you , which I’m sure took quite a bit of effort on your part. Thank you again!!!!”

“Super kind and responsive, very friendly with the animals and makes sure their needs are met. Would 100% recommend and use again. One of our cats was sick while we were away and sure was very helpful and flexible working with us to help him feel better.”

“Casey was great! She was super responsive when I first reached out to her and was great with my cat Poppy. I especially loved all the pictures she sent during her drop-ins. I would definitely recommend her to another pet owner. Thanks, Casey!”

“Absolutely wonderful sitter! Abigail has gone above and beyond to make sure our cat has been well cared for during the Christmas break! She gives updates at every visit and was very flexible with us for making sure she got all her medications and such on time. Would highly recommend!”

“Jess is super kind, attentive, and made us feel at ease knowing she was looking after our little Savannah. Savannah's comfort was apparent in the photos Jess sent during her drop ins. Will absolutely be reaching out again. Thank you Jess!”

“Stephanie watched my two Frenchies and they absolutely love her! My dogs were well exercised and happy. The updates and photos sent throughout her stay gave me complete peace of mind. I highly recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter. Thank you again for taking such great care of my fur babies!”

About: Hi! I grew up with dogs & cats throughout my childhood and then got a dog of my own during COVID. Due to a breakup, I no longer have my dog & have been chasing to get puppy snuggles wherever possible. I have dog sat for friends and family countless time. I also volunteer occasionally at the Animal Rescue League of NH & also am looking forward to find a MA organization, now that I live down in MA! I work full time with 2 days in the office. The other 3 weekdays, I work fully remote & am flexible! If you live close by, I can stop by to let your dog out, take them for a walk or just give them some love for a bit. And of course, I’d love to stay at your home if needed (and could even work remotely from there if you’re okay with that!) I’m happy to accommodate to whatever you need in your own home! Since I don’t own my current place & have a dog living here currently, I am only offering services outside of my house. This will include- dog walking & in house visits/stays for cats & dogs. However, that means you get to tell me where everything is & we don’t need to take your perfect dog/cat out of their safe space. 🤍
“Erin was a wonderful catsitter for our boy Merlot! She was kind, respectful, responsible, and communicative. We asked to receive picture updates and received daily photos of well-loved cat. I would recommend Erin without hesitation and will gladly ask her to watch Merlot again.”

“Emily is very responsive and was super helpful in taking take of my young pup on short notice! She followed instructions perfectly and I came home to a very happy puppy. I highly recommend booking with Emily!”

“Mina was awesome! She came by beforehand to do a meet and greet with my 2 cats, and was so great with coordinating. She sent lots of pics and updates during the stay, and was so patient with my 1 cat who is a fussy eater. I definitely recommend Mina!!”

About: I have been around pets for as long as I can remember. I have two labradors, one 14 year old and one 4 year old, so I have experience with puppy’s and elderly dogs! I have always been in charge of taking the dogs on walks, and I have been covering for my sisters Rover dog walks when needed :) As of now I am unemployed for the summer, so I have a lot of availability! I am going on a couple short trips this summer, and will be going to the University of Miami in August, but other than that I am very available! I lived in a suburb until moving to Boston this month, so I am familiar with both yard and city environments. We used a crate until my dog was about 2, I like to keep them leashed and close to me, and I always keep their waters full!
“Madeleine is wonderful! I was so nervous to use a new cat sitter after moving, but she was exactly what I was seeking. I am so grateful, she took great care of my cat for a few weekends. She’s prompt, responsive, and gave me awesome updates :)”

“Juliet was amazing with my three cats! She babysat my kittens for the first time I ever left them and she did a great job even though they are a little crazy. She took great care of my home and gave my cats lots of love. Highly recommend and I will be using her again!”

“Miliana took care of our cat while we were out of town. She went above and beyond to connect with her, bringing a laser pointer one day to play with her. Miliana was very responsive and always shared photos and was able to stop by even during a large snow storm. Highly would recommend!!”

About: Hi! My name is Gabby and I’m looking for opportunities to walk/run with dogs in the North End (or nearby) between 11 am and 12:30 pm on mondays and wednesdays and any time 12:30 or earlier any other day of the week while I build my personal training business. 🙂 I have been dogsitting and walking dogs consistently since 2023 and previously from 2019-2020. I have watched a lot of different kinds of dogs and especially like working with active breeds who need to expand some energy on their walks! I’d love to learn about your dogs needs and what I can do to support them on their walk (or run). I’m looking to increase my running mileage this spring and summer, so if you have a dog you run with who needs a run, I can run with them to help them expend some energy!
“Emily is AMAZING! She cared for my pup, Peanut during Thanksgiving for me. I got home and I swear she was looking for Emily and not me, when I walked through the door. Would 10/10 recommend her to take excellent care of your pup too!”

“Ren is terrific! We really appreciate her consistent updates and amazing pictures of our cat when we’re gone. You can really see how much care she puts into it and we’d highly recommend her.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Boston
Hannah took great care of Noori and sent me pictures which made my day as I did miss him while gone. Hannah was consistent, very communicative and professional. My cat takes a long time to warm up to anyone but with Hannah he didn’t take too long. The whole thing experience was smooth and seamless. I definitely recommend her and will definitely be booking her again for Noori.

Courtney has been fantastic. My cat needs daily medication and is not always cool with strangers, but Courtesy drops in at the same time each day and spends some quality time with my spoiled cat. Based on the pictures, I think my cat actually enjoys the visits, which has given me great peace of mind while away.

Emma was amazing! She took such great care of my cat and made me feel so much better about being away. She sent daily updates and photos, was always quick to respond, and it was so obvious my cat loved her (every picture was of them cuddling on the couch together). I've already booked Emma again for my next trip and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter!

Jenna was absolutely wonderful!! We had our cats separate because of some new onset behavioral issues and were hesitant to leave them, and she handled everything better than we could have asked for, on top of that with a positive attitude at all times. She was communicative when she had questions and very thoughtful and intentional, and left hilarious daily updates and pics. By the end of the week I stopped worrying about the cats because I knew they were in great hands. Jenna is very respectful and responsible and I would trust her to handle anything. She left our spaces clean, followed any instructions well, and went above and beyond to clean up after our cats even outside of the norm (one threw up one day and she cleaned it without hesitation). It was clear our cats warmed up to her quickly. We can only hope she’s available the next time we go out of town!!

Haowen provided exceptional care for our cats. He was responsible, thorough, and completely worry-free, ensuring our pets were in great hands. His flexibility and willingness to accommodate ad hoc requests were greatly appreciated. Furthermore, he documented the visits with many wonderful, high-quality photos. Highly recommended for anyone needing a reliable sitter.

Having someone experienced with giving cats inhalers was the most important thing, and Liz handled it perfectly. This was by far the easiest time leaving the cats alone for me: I trusted Liz completely. Super caring and devoted to making sure our cats had the best time.

Nicole was so wonderful with my cat, who is on the delicate side and doesn’t warm up to strangers easily. She followed his daily routine closely and was punctual with every visit, which made all the difference for a cat who relies on his consistency. Her communication was lovely throughout - timely daily updates, quick replies to my messages, and such genuine attentiveness to his needs. I came home to a calm, happy cat, which says it all. Thank you, Nicole - highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boston. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
