“Casey is a very reliable caretaker. I was nervous about leaving my 8 month old kitten alone for the first time but she took amazing care of him. Casey provided detailed updates about her drop-in visits and was very easy to communicate with. Knowing that she’s such a great care provider, I will absolutely go to her for any future requirements. I highly recommend her!”

“Mina is fantastic and the consummate kitty sitter! She’s a great communicator and really has the feline expertise that we were looking for. Additionally, she provided great, timely care and very detailed report cards. The kitties and I will absolutely be utilizing Mina’s awesome services in the future!”

“Serena was super attentive to my cats medication needs, provided ample playtime and connected with my cat while I was away. Her extensive experience with cats shows and I would definitely book her again. Serena did a great job.”

“Macy was absolutely wonderful with our 12-year-old Shih Tzu, Charlie. Caring for a senior dog comes with its own considerations, and we felt completely comfortable knowing Charlie was in her care. She was attentive, dependable, communicative, and treated him with genuine kindness throughout his stay. It was clear that Charlie was comfortable with her and very well cared for, which meant a great deal to us. We would unequivocally recommend Macy to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pup, especially those with an older dog. We would happily have Charlie stay with her again.”

“Ren did such a phenomenal job taking care of my cat, Ziggy, while I was away for two weeks. She sent thoughtful updates and photos for each visit and played with Ziggy more than most sitters do. She is extremely responsive and also left the litterbox spotless which is something that I really appreciated. Booking with Ren means feeling at ease while away. Highly recommend!”

“Stephanie was great, communicates quickly, and was wonderful with my cat. He liked her a lot as well, which is good because be can be quite skittish. I'll definitely pick her again!”

“I cannot recommend Kyle enough! He is reliable, flexible, and our pets love him. He gives updates and responds to any questions we have quickly. He always makes sure our pets are cared for and comfortable. He is the only pet sitter I will use!”

“Jenna did an AMAZING job taking care of my girl Ivy! She was so attentive to her needs, followed instructions clearly, communicated with me quickly and efficiently, and made sure Ivy was her sole focus of attention, playing with her using her favorite toys and giving her lots of love!! You can tell Jenna is passionate about what she does and the pets she cares for! I will definitely be reaching back out to her in the future and highly recommend her if you need someone to watch your fur babies!🙌💓🐾”

“Jess is super kind, attentive, and made us feel at ease knowing she was looking after our little Savannah. Savannah's comfort was apparent in the photos Jess sent during her drop ins. Will absolutely be reaching out again. Thank you Jess!”

“Emily did such a great job with Ziggy and Smokey! She was consistent, attentive, and super communicative. I felt like my babies were loved and well cared for while I was away.”

“Miliana did a great job taking care of my grumpy 16-year-old cat Percy. He hid from her at first (his normal behavior); but within a few days they were clearly buddies!”

“Hannah is wonderful and my go- to cat sitter! She is very responsible, is an excellent communicator and my cat loves her ( my cat doesn’t like most people, to be honest- haha). I highly recommend her!”

“Second time booking with her! Our cat was very happy to have her looking after him. She sent plenty of photos and updates while we were away. Will book again, tidy and trust worthy sitter”

“Katherine went above and beyond in just a single visit. It was immediately clear how much she genuinely cares for animals, especially cats. Finding a trustworthy cat sitter can be surprisingly difficult, so we feel incredibly lucky to have found Katherine!”

“Kristina is fantastic! She really cares about my fur babies and even my shy kitty loves her. She goes above and beyond every time to make sure they are comfortable and happy while I am away. Highly recommend!”

“Melissa did some drop ins on our cats over Christmas week and it was a huge relief knowing we didn’t have to worry about them while we were gone. She cleaned the litter boxes, fed both of them, and gave one their daily medication. I would definitely book her again! Thank you Melissa!”

“Jenin is a very reliable and communicative sitter who is a natural with cats. I appreciated the detailed notes and photos she shared everyday. I’d love for her to look after my cats whenever I’m away!”

“Anna was a fantastic pet-sitter and I'm so glad I chose her to care for my cat Betty. Anna was excellent! She was responsive, communicative in booking, came over for a intro visit, and followed all the care instructions. She sent thorough updates on each visit, sent pictures, and really bonded with my (grumpy) cat. I loved her updates on my cat's behavior, bowel movements, and eating/drinking habits. I felt incredibly comfortable knowing I had her as a pet sitter, which is something all pet owners seek. I definitely recommend Anna for cat drop-in visits and intend to book her for future travel. Thank you Anna!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Boston
Jenin is the absolute best sitter in the Boston area! My wife and I travelled for 9 days and selected Jenin to watch our 2 kitties. She was timely each and every day and shared great photos and a thoughtful recap each day. She even went above and beyond and stopped by extra times since she lived to close. She did not just come in, feed them, and leave. She took the time to figure out their personalities and build an actual relationship with our picky girls. We have a gecko as well and she checked on her to make sure her water was filled, which was not part of the gig! Also, we were delayed returning to the US and she stopped by 2 more times for us before we landed without even requesting us to book/purchase! She will be our GO TO sitter each and every time we travel!

Josh is a rockstar! This was his second time doing drop-in visits with my shy cat, and within a few days she was greeting him as he arrived and accepting not just pets but also brushing from him, which is astonishing for her! He’s clearly perfectly attuned to what cats need to feel safe and comfortable and I’ll be thrilled to have him watch my girl in the future.

I’ve booked with Szu yu before and can’t emphasize enough that she is reliable, communicative, and caring. I highly recommend her with your fur-babies. She visited my 3 cats 2x a day while i was out for the weekend, and I felt secure in that she’d keep them safe and cared for while visiting. Thanks, again, Szu yu!

Liz was amazing with our three cats! She was incredibly communicative and detail-oriented from the start. She came over to meet our babies beforehand and asked great questions, which made everything feel seamless while we were away. Our cats can get pretty anxious when we’re gone for too long, but Liz was so wonderful with them that we barely saw any of that anxiety this time. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend Liz to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pets!

If I could give Alexina 10 out of 5 stars I would! She really understands cats and was so good to my sweet cat. I came home to find my sweet and extremely social kitty happy and well cared for. He is usually anxious when I come home from a weekend away but he was calm, happy and confident. Also everything was pristine/clean. 💕💕💕💕

Karina did drop-ins for our 2 cats while we were away for a few days and she was awesome! Very quick to respond, provided lots of photos and updates. Our cats warmed up to her very quickly which was huge! You can tell she really loves cats and has a lot of experience caring for them. Will definitely be booking her for future pet sitting needs!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boston. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
