Elena is a true dog lover who knows puppy behavior very well. We booked a consultation and met 2 hours for new puppy training. We stayed both indoor and outdoor, she was able to point out what we were doing right and wrong at puppy training. She showed us how positive reinforce works and recommended some good substitutes and products for our puppy’s biting/chewing issue since our puppy is on the stage of changing teeth. I solely recommend Elena! She loves and knows dogs!

Danny was very knowledgeable and helped me see the world from my dog’s perspective. I had been doing group training classes and it felt like I wasn’t making progress, one-on-one training with Danny gave me the tools I needed to move forward. He made me realize that I was accidentally encouraging the behaviors I was trying to eliminate. Just 2 sessions with Danny has made my life with my dog so much more enjoyable!

My friend Sydney helped my puppy Xena learn “go to spot” and practice her “heel” outside. She was patient and rewarded Xena with her favorite treats to help make training easy for her. She did not push her past her limit and left room for her to make the right choice! I would highly recommend Sydney if you’re looking to get your pup trained by someone seasoned and experienced, she is so caring, genuine and just overall wonderful to work with!

Bill was AMAZING with Yogi! We’re so thankful to have found him! Yogi was having a hard time adjusting after our move and had become reactive to dogs and people. We finally feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel because yogi is so much more confident and comfortable and was even able to walk past another dog without barking. Thank you, Bill!

Katie was SO HELPFUL. She taught me what behaviors to look for that would indicate my dog is adjusting well to a new situation versus is totally overwhelmed and needs a minute. She also had some clever practical techniques for me to use to work on my dog’s separation anxiety. I appreciated how she was able to balance the dog’s needs with my own needs and create a training plan that aligned with both. Will definitely be working with her again.

Billy did some short training sessions on cues with my 5 year old wheaten terrier, Archie. Archie learned how to properly heel on the leash in a short time and was good in reinforcing his sit, stay, down, touch, come, and leave it cues. He is looking forward to more training with Billy! Tracy B.

About: I combine precise timing, deep behavioral insight, and a structured approach that helps dogs learn faster with less stress and confusion. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor each session to the individual puppy’s temperament, energy, and learning style. My focus on building trust, clarity, and lasting habits creates results that go beyond obedience—shaping calm, confident dogs for real-life environments.

Jade is an extremely reliable, talented, and natural dog trainer. We have worked with Jade since our dog Bruno was a puppy. Bruno is an anxious pup, and he immediately took to Jade, which is rare! She always treats Bruno with kindness and has incredible patience in helping him become more confident and obedient. Jade also took the time to teach us how to best support Bruno, helping us become better dog parents. We can't recommend Jade enough!

Jenna was absolutely fantastic with my little guy. My dog has a big personality and is very anxious and defensive of me, Jenna was ready for all of that immediately. In addition to asking about his health issues prior, she came so prepared to help me and did so well at that! I’m a huge pushover with my dog and I care so much about him being happy and she totally got that. I’m super excited to work with Jenna again! Highly recommend.

Dog Training FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Trainers listing on Rover must be credentialed dog trainers, commit to reward-based training methods, and pass a background check to offer dog training in Boston.

Reward-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes; treats, play, or toys. Reward-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

If you’re searching for a dog trainer in Boston for the first time, visit the trainer’s profile and select the Contact button.

If you have an active request or have booked a service with a trainer before, learn more about how to do this in the Rover app or on your computer.

Rover makes it easy to find Boston dog trainers to provide loving care from their own home. The background-checked, 5-star trainers you can find on Rover will work with you and your dog to build new skills and address behaviors. Dog trainers can work on:

  • Puppy training, adult dog training, agility training, clicker training and advanced training.
  • Behaviors such as barking, leash manners, leash reactivity, house manners, jumping, fearful behavior, anxious behavior, separation distress, recall, biting, chewing, mouthiness, potty training and resource guarding.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer’s profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact them to ensure they’re the right trainer for you and your pet.

We get it—sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your dog training service. You can cancel an upcoming booking directly from the Rover app or your computer, in accordance with your trainer’s cancellation policy.

Note: If your dog trainer requested to cancel this booking, then they need to cancel from their account. Please contact them via Rover Messages.
