“Casey is a terrific cat sitter! Since I lived near her office, she took time to stop by and meet Quigley before I left town. Her updates and pictures were super thorough and she helped with some cleanup when my cat had an accident. I’d recommend her to anyone!”

“Jenna did an AMAZING job taking care of my girl Ivy! She was so attentive to her needs, followed instructions clearly, communicated with me quickly and efficiently, and made sure Ivy was her sole focus of attention, playing with her using her favorite toys and giving her lots of love!! You can tell Jenna is passionate about what she does and the pets she cares for! I will definitely be reaching back out to her in the future and highly recommend her if you need someone to watch your fur babies!🙌💓🐾”

“Stephanie watched my two Frenchies and they absolutely love her! My dogs were well exercised and happy. The updates and photos sent throughout her stay gave me complete peace of mind. I highly recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter. Thank you again for taking such great care of my fur babies!”

About: I have been around pets for as long as I can remember. I have two labradors, one 14 year old and one 4 year old, so I have experience with puppy’s and elderly dogs! I have always been in charge of taking the dogs on walks, and I have been covering for my sisters Rover dog walks when needed :) As of now I am unemployed for the summer, so I have a lot of availability! I am going on a couple short trips this summer, and will be going to the University of Miami in August, but other than that I am very available! I lived in a suburb until moving to Boston this month, so I am familiar with both yard and city environments. We used a crate until my dog was about 2, I like to keep them leashed and close to me, and I always keep their waters full!
About: I’ve had dogs in my own home/in my life for as long as I can remember! From walking to feeding to bathing, I’ve done it all. I’m currently a graduate student at Tufts University so am usually free most days for walks and/or drop-in visits! My schedule is very flexible, so even if Rover states I’m unavailable please don’t hesitate to reach out :) I have a fur baby of my own and have had dogs in my life since I was a child. My pup and I love to go on walks and I’m in charge of bathing him once a month as well. He’s also a pug, so I’m no stranger to having to clean a pup’s face and ears daily.
About: Hi! I grew up with dogs & cats throughout my childhood and then got a dog of my own during COVID. Due to a breakup, I no longer have my dog & have been chasing to get puppy snuggles wherever possible. I have dog sat for friends and family countless time. I also volunteer occasionally at the Animal Rescue League of NH & also am looking forward to find a MA organization, now that I live down in MA! I work full time with 2 days in the office. The other 3 weekdays, I work fully remote & am flexible! If you live close by, I can stop by to let your dog out, take them for a walk or just give them some love for a bit. And of course, I’d love to stay at your home if needed (and could even work remotely from there if you’re okay with that!) I’m happy to accommodate to whatever you need in your own home! Since I don’t own my current place & have a dog living here currently, I am only offering services outside of my house. This will include- dog walking & in house visits/stays for cats & dogs. However, that means you get to tell me where everything is & we don’t need to take your perfect dog/cat out of their safe space. 🤍
“Erin was awesome with our two cats! She sends lots of pictures and they definitely love spending time with her. She’s great at communicating and super reliable!”

“Mina did a great job looking after our cat over a long weekend. She provided timely updates on each visit and went above and beyond by giving our cat her eye drops every day. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a cat sitter!”

“Thank you Hannah for taking such wonderful care of our elderly and shy kitty! She really took to you , which I’m sure took quite a bit of effort on your part. Thank you again!!!!”

About: I’ve been the designated pet sitter in my family for several years now, and I’m trying to expand operations. I don’t have pets of my own so I am so excited to befriend yours! I currently have a freelance job mostly from home that I do work for in the evenings, but I am wide open during the day and love having reasons to walk around the city! When visiting pets, I’m always very careful not to let them slip out the door, and once I’m in I’m very willing to take it at the pet’s pace! I’m experienced with waiting out nervous ones or throwing toys over and over and over for energetic ones!
“Piper was excellent with our cat Eloise. She was very communicative and sent photos and updates. She seemed to understand the way that Ella communicates right away. We will definitely be using Piper again. And I highly recommend her to take care of your pets.”

About: I love and have always loved dogs! I have experience taking care of my friends and family's dogs as well as my own! I've had experience training puppies as well as caring for adult dogs so your furry friend will be in good hands! I work on a hybrid schedule so I will be available Fridays through Mondays as well as on weekday evenings to care for your pets We recently went through the puppy phase so our apartment if fully dog proof! We have a frenchie at home who can play with your pup but we also have a play pen and kennel to keep pets separated if needed. I am also happy to check in on your pet(s) in your home as well if your pets feel more comfortable staying in their own home.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boston
Caroline was wonderful! She communicated clearly before the visit and took exceptional care of my cat while I was away. She sent thoughtful updates and photos, showing that my cat was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Beyond feeing and litter, she provided plenty of cuddles, attention, and playtime, too. I would highly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter!

Juliet was great! She was very communicative and made sure my cat was well taken care of. I was nervous leaving my cat alone for a few days but she made me feel so much more comfortable because I knew Tuna Melt was having a great time. I’d definitely recommend her!

Rita was friendly and very easy to communicate with! She always responded to me quickly whenever I had questions. She left a message and cute photos of my cat Kiwi at each check in so I knew she was being well cared for. Would definitely book with her again next time we need someone to drop in on her!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Boston stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boston. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
