“Jenin took great care of Peanut while I was away for a week! She was very communicative and sent lots of photos to curb my sadness about being away. I came home to a clean space and a happy cat. Thank you!”

“Rachel was so good with Fergus and was very communicative while I was away! I loved that she came over for a meet and greet beforehand to make sure she knew where everything was. Would definitely book her again!”

About: Hi! I am a medical student and have been in the area since 2023. I’m on Rover to help pay for medical school and spend more time with pets. For Aug - Oct 2026, I am normally available on the weekends and in the mornings/evenings during the week. I love animals and miss having a dog around the house, meaning that I will treasure the time with your pet and do everything to make them comfortable, safe, and happy! I’m a medical student, which means I am responsible and spend the majority of my day studying! Happy to drop in and take care of your pet when you’re at work or have errands to run. I am a very careful person and will do everything in my power to keep your pet safe. When walking, we will do preplanned routes. When housesitting, all rules will be followed and everything documented!
“Erin did a phenomenal job watching my two cats while I was away. She was patient and understanding of their shyness. She was able to give my cat with asthma her inhaler, even though the cat is still learning. She was clear and communicative on updates and pictures. I have more travel coming up and am so grateful I have someone to trust with the kitties!”

“Molly did a great job taking care of my girls! She was very thorough and had great communication. I came back to a clean apartment and happy cats :) 10/10 would recommend!”

About: I am a very passionate cat mom of two sweet tabby boys who understand that we all always want the best for our kitties! I got my first cat five years ago when he was seven weeks old and my second earlier this year when he was six months old, so I have a lot of experience taking care of kittens. Since I travel a lot, I know how big of a deal it can be to trust someone else with your cats, and I want to be that person for someone else. I have cat who insists on having ice cubes in his water and likes to have me watch him eat, so I am very accustomed to tending to cats' quirks. I have cared for both of my cats through surgeries, including applying warm compresses and administering medicine (even to a picky eater). I feed my cats both wet and dry food so I am very familiar with serving both. However, I have had dogs for my whole life and am very experienced in their care as well. I have cared for dogs with anxiety, as well as cared for senior pets. I am comfortable administering medicine and following special diets. I have also been walking dogs since I was a kid and would love to take your pet for a spin. I am a graduate student and I teach an undergraduate course. My classes are at night twice a week, and I teach for two afternoons during the week. The rest of my time is free to do homework, write, work, and take care of my own fur babies. I am very good at scheduling myself and would love to work your pets into my schedule. I will care for your pets by playing with them and helping them get some of that energy out or sitting beside them and just giving them pets and keeping them company. I know each pet is different and has different things they need through out the day. For cats, I can clean the litter boxes. For dogs, I can take them outside to go. I will always make sure that the food and water bowls are full and clean, and that your pet is comfortable when I leave.
“Emily is amazing! Great with our 6 month old puppy making him feel comfortable and happy while we were out. She has great communication and is very punctual. Our second time using her on Rover and will be again!”

“Megan is amazing! She is communicative, flexible, and professional. She did an amazing job with my 11 week old puppy and she will continue to be my first call when I need a sitter!”

“Casey was great! She was super responsive when I first reached out to her and was great with my cat Poppy. I especially loved all the pictures she sent during her drop-ins. I would definitely recommend her to another pet owner. Thanks, Casey!”

“Hannah did a great job taking care of my cat Luna for two weeks! She was very friendly and communicative during drop ins. Luna loves attention and was very comfortable and happy with Hannah while I was away. Would highly recommend!”

“Abigail was amazing! She sent lots of pics, played a lot with our cats, and gave them lots of love. She also did a great job with our Guinea Pig and with giving our skittish cat his oral medication :)”

“Stephanie was great, communicates quickly, and was wonderful with my cat. He liked her a lot as well, which is good because be can be quite skittish. I'll definitely pick her again!”

“Brittany was so wonderful to work with! She took care of my cat for a weekend and sent a thoughtful update after each visit. I'm so grateful and would definitely choose her again!”

“Caitlyn did a great job taking care of my cat while I was gone! She provided several pictures and detailed updates so I could stay informed of how everything was going each day. Would recommend her to others!”

“I love my experience with Jenna. 10 out of 10 would recommend. The second I walked home my bunny ran to the door, which is a sign he really enjoyed his sitter!!! Jenna sent lots of photos so I know he got a lot of engagement while I was gone.”

About: Hi! I grew up with dogs & cats throughout my childhood and then got a dog of my own during COVID. Due to a breakup, I no longer have my dog & have been chasing to get puppy snuggles wherever possible. I have dog sat for friends and family countless time. I also volunteer occasionally at the Animal Rescue League of NH & also am looking forward to find a MA organization, now that I live down in MA! I work full time with 2 days in the office. The other 3 weekdays, I work fully remote & am flexible! If you live close by, I can stop by to let your dog out, take them for a walk or just give them some love for a bit. And of course, I’d love to stay at your home if needed (and could even work remotely from there if you’re okay with that!) I’m happy to accommodate to whatever you need in your own home! Since I don’t own my current place & have a dog living here currently, I am only offering services outside of my house. This will include- dog walking & in house visits/stays for cats & dogs. However, that means you get to tell me where everything is & we don’t need to take your perfect dog/cat out of their safe space. 🤍

Gabrielle was wonderful! She was reliable, attentive, and took such great care of Penny while we were away. She followed all of our instructions, kept us updated, and made sure Penny got plenty of playtime, cuddles, and attention. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her.

Lan-Ting was incredibly caring and great to work with. She took terrific care of my cat again. He was extremely shy at first, but she got him out of his shell and managed to have him laying on his back getting his belly brushed by the middle of the trip. Thank you :)
Paul was wonderful to work with! He was always on time, very flexible with our changing schedule, and took great care of our cat with asthma. We really appreciated how reliable and caring he was. We would absolutely book with Paul again and highly recommend him!

Caitlyn is truly the best! She’s taken care of our 2 cats during long trips ranging from 2-4 weeks multiple times now and never fails to go above and beyond during every visit! She takes special care to make sure everyone has eaten, gets plenty of pets, treats and playtime! I couldn’t recommend her more ❤️

Thank you so much for taking care of our Tayto, again! We were so grateful to have Teylah care for our baby shortly after we lost our other cat. He needed a lot of TLC and Teylah was able to provide it. She was understanding when he was a little moody and gave us thorough updates every day. Thank you again!! ♥️

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boston. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
