About: I’ve taken care of all types of dogs for most of my life. I raised, trained, and took care of 2 very different dogs of my own starting 7 years ago. One of them is a rescue with his own specific needs and quirks so I am experienced with reactive and nervous dogs. I also have cared for many other people’s dogs. I’ve walked and care of senior dogs and helped with their unique care needs. I am attentive, responsible, and genuinely enjoy building bonds with the animals I care for. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you are away. I am currently a part time retail worker, so I have plenty of time and a flexible schedule for carrying for your animals. I am available for walks and in home visits everyday of the week, and I am flexible and easy to reach to set up the exact plan for your animals. I am very aware that each and every pet are very different. That’s why I am attentive and detail oriented in order to properly care for your pet in the way that it needs.
“Juliet is amazing! She was super flexible and accommodated our last minute request. She took plenty of pictures and communicated with us throughout. We would trust her to take care of our Alfie any day!”

“Maria took great care of my cat Theodore! Loved all the photos she included from her visit with him while I was away and she was excellent at communicating any questions she had.”

“Jenica was amazing and so kind!! She took such good care of my cat Goose, sent lots of pictures and updates, and I had peace of mind knowing he was in good care. 10/10 would love for her to take care of him again!”

“Melissa was awesome, again! She gives a great summary of the drop in visit with my pup and also took a ton of photos, which gave me comfort that she genuinely was there to hang and spend time with my 7 month old puppy . I 110% recommend Melissa for anything!”

“Katherine was genuinely kind with my cat such that my cat became friend with her so quickly and completely. Also, Katherine followed my instructions accurately which made me confident that my cat had a great visit.”

“Caroline was communicative, punctual, and followed all of my instructions. My cat seemed very well taken care of when I came back. Her litter was clean, as was her food bowl, she was well fed, and relaxed.”

About: Dedicated to providing reliable, safe, and personalized dog walking services and pet care for your four-legged family members, of all sizes. I have owned pets since I was 8 years old and I’ve been walking dogs and caring for pets since 1995, with a deep respect for their well-being. Your pet’s happiness, health, and safety are my top priorities — they deserve the very best! I’m a work from home professional that is an animal lover, and I don’t feel like my schedule allows me to have a pet of my own. While not traveling for work a few days out of the month, I’d love to make sure your four-legged family members have a reliable and caring solution while you occasionally cannot be with them. Happy to answer any questions! I have several references I can provide from folks in the immediate Boston area where I have cared for their pets while they are out of town for work demands in the short term or when they need to be in the office. Happy to be flexible between the midday hours and allow you to have a last minute or a fairly regular solution to your pets care needs.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since my family rescued our first dog over 12 years ago. I have experience walking dogs, feeding dogs, washing dogs, and giving dogs their medications. I’m a night shift nurse, so I have unique availability that people in other careers may not. I specialize in taking care of people in their most vulnerable states, and would love to do the same for your pet. I work full-time at a Boston Hospital. However, I am a night shift nurse who works 36 hours overnight per week. The nights I work do charge each week, but I have a lot of availability during the day. I also only work every third weekend. I don’t plan to care for pets in my home as I live in an apartment in South Boston. However, I plan to care for pets in my clients’ homes well. I want your pet to feel safe and be excited that their friend has arrived to walk them, feed them, spend time with them, etc.
“Liz was wonderful! Provided detailed updates, was very responsive to messages, and took great care of my cat. As a first time rover user, I was a little nervous, but her patience and quick communication put me right at ease!”

“We had just moved to Boston and needed a needed a dog-sitter on short notice for our Great Dane pup, Gordon, and David crushed it! He is super-patient and confident with our big boy and expertly communicative. David will always be our “go to!””

About: I grew up with 5 dogs, now have 2 at home with my parents and one of my own in Boston with me. Willing to walk and exercise dogs twice a day. I provide lots of love and care for any animal I am around, can also help with other animals in the house, if need be. Spent a summer working in a veterinary office taking care and looking after all animals, can give medications and pay special attention to the needs of dogs. Full time working professional but willing to work out any schedule needed to take care of your pets! Would love to get to spend time with dogs while I am away from mine, so always eager to take on the sitting/walking/running challenge! Also as an added bonus always willing to take cute photos of your dog and send them along to you! I am currently a full time working professional. Am available for check ins and walks as my calendar allows and it will be updated weekly. I care for my clients pets the same way I would care for my own. I always call my clients pets my pets away from home and will provide only the best exercise, care, and love that they deserve.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Boston
We’ve had Amber take care of Cricket for awhile now and she’s always done a great job. Recently we left him in her care for a week while he happened to be recovering from a minor illness, and she kept us updated and took great care of him. She’s learned his quirks and we can tell by the pictures that he’s very comfortable with her!

Nicole was our first experience with Rover. We were going on a fairly long vacation and couldn’t take our cat with us, so needless to say, we were a little nervous about leaving her behind. We booked Nicole for nine visits, and she was fantastic. She always showed up when she said she would, did everything we had asked, and sent us detailed updates after every visit. She played with our cat, groomed her when needed, replenished her water bowls, and cleaned the litter box. Nicole is an extremely reliable and dependable pet sitter—no weirdness, no drama, just someone you can trust to show up and take good care of your pet. We know pet sitting is only a temporary, part-time job for Nicole as she finishes college and prepares to move away from Boston, but the maturity, trustworthiness, reliability, and sense of responsibility she showed us will serve her well wherever her career takes her next. We are extremely grateful to Nicole for taking such good care of our cat and giving us peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely recommend her.
Madeline was amazing!!! She helped me out last minute with my puppy and gave me such peace of mind being able to come. She was incredibly attentive and detailed with her visit notes. She followed my over explained directions perfectly and my puppy loved her!! I would 100% book with her again, thank you Madeline :)

- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
