Amanda can care for
Availability
As a Tufts graduate student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to fit in plenty of quality time with your pets. Beginning in early September, I’ll have class Monday and Wednesday evenings, but I’m still available for afternoon visits or late-night check-ins on those days. The rest of the week, I’m available to give your pets all the love and attention they need.

Safety, trust & environment
I’m committed to caring for your pets exactly the way you would. I’m happy to follow any routines, feeding preferences, or house rules you have in place—whether it’s how you like meals prepared, where your pets are allowed to roam, or simple entry guidelines for your home. I treat both your pets and your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. Additionally, for my dog clients, all walks are private—just me and your dog(s). I never combine walks with other households, so your pup gets my full attention, care, and plenty of one-on-one time. I also steer clear of interactions with unfamiliar dogs while out walking, out of an abundance of caution. This helps ensure your pet’s safety, prevents unnecessary stress, and keeps our time together focused entirely on their needs.
Information Amanda H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about your pet’s typical temperament so I can approach them in the way that makes them most comfortable. I’m happy to care for shy or timid pets and will give them all the time they need to warm up to me—whether that’s a few minutes or a few weeks. Knowing in advance how they feel around new people helps me ensure our first meeting is calm, positive, and stress-free, without overwhelming them with too much enthusiasm too soon.
A typical day
The fun depends on your pet’s personality and energy level. For senior pups, we’ll enjoy gentle, leisurely strolls with plenty of time for sniffs along the way. For younger or more energetic dogs, we’ll pick up the pace with a brisk, engaging walk. I always let my furry friend set the pace—and the route—so every outing is just right for them. For my feline friends, the day might include playtime, cuddle time, or both if I’m lucky! Whether your cat is in the mood to chase toys or curl up for a nap, I’ll follow their lead to make sure they feel happy and comfortable.

Extremely passionate pet caretaker!
Pet care experience
I have been caring for animals of all kinds, from dogs to hedgehogs for most of my life. I grew up with a long haired miniature dachshund and she is the love of my life!! We got Lexi at 8 weeks old, she just recently turned 15 and is doing very well! I'm very familiar with anxious animals, administering all kinds of medication, senior pet needs, puppy care, etc. Unfortunately, my baby doesn't live with me (she lives at home with my family), so I’m sourly missing all the animal loves on a daily basis and would love to care for your babies! I'm currently a graduate student with plenty of availability to hang out with your babies!

Reviews

Amanda was so amazing with our puppy! She took great care of him, played with him, and took him out on walks. He loved hanging out with her and was calm and rested when we returned!

Amanda took great care of my cat, Trinnie, over 3 consecutive weekends of travel while I adjusted to life in a new city. She consistently went above and beyond to make sure Trinnie had everything she needed and was very flexible and helpful when the automatic feeder had a malfunction. Her communication was excellent across all three bookings - with special mention to the update photos she captured! I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience with a pet sitter and will definitely rebook for any future trips!

Amanda took great care of our two cats while we were away. She sent lots of photos and our boys were very happy when we came home! Thank you, Amanda :)

Amanda was wonderful with my kitty Jones. She spent quality play time with him on each visit and sent many fun pictures. I will absolutely rebook with her for future vacations.
