“Amanda was absolutely fantastic!! My cats both have health conditions and need medicine every 12 hours. Amanda always did her check ins really promptly and was super communicative throughout, really going the extra mile several times. I'm always a little nervous leaving my very old cats and she put my mind totally at ease. I would definitely have her back again and again!”

“Thomas & Emma watched our puppy for 3 days which included 2 drop in visits per day. They were incredibly attentive, trustworthy and communicative. They even went above and beyond given the snow to have paw fits and pad balm to help goose in the snow/ice. Would rebook their service in a heartbeat!”

“Eleanor is the best! She is our first choice to watch over our kitties when we are out of town. She leaves detailed reports of her visits, takes amazing pictures and always spends quality time with our cats. We adore her and your pets will too!”

About: Hello and thank you for visiting my page! I am a lover of all animals, and I have had both cats and dogs my whole life. I’ve had my cat, Burt Macklin (if you’re a fan of Parks and Rec) for over five years and he is my favorite creature! I have no problem taking care of cats of all sizes and am comfortable administering oral medication. I currently can’t own a dog in my apartment, so I love walking and taking care of dogs to get my fix. I can take care of dogs of all sizes and ages, and I’ll be sure to ask about their walking behaviors and any habits/training they’re working on. I am able to do overnight stays when needed and aim to give your house lion and/or pooch the best care while their human(s) are away. I am a very positive and optimistic person, so I will always bring an upbeat attitude to all my dog walks. I am an open book and can answer any questions as needed. Hope to meet you and your fur child! I’m currently working part-time and have lots of flexibility during the week and on weekends. I also have a car and am able to travel with your pet if needed. I take it very seriously when someone trusts me to take care of their pet, whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or house sitting. I am always considerate of other people’s spaces and treat both your home and your beloved support creatures like my own!
“Sara was fantastic! Our old man cat clearly felt comfortable around her from the first meet and greet, and she kept us updated with amazing photos and details, going above and beyond to play with him and brush him in addition to the basic necessities, which was so nice!”

About: What sets us apart as sitters is that caring for dogs has always been a part of our lives. I grew up with a family dog, so from a young age I learned the importance of patience, consistency, and love when it comes to raising and caring for pets. My boyfriend, Jahn, shares that same love for animals and lives with me, so he’ll also be helping care for your dog. During college, we’ve continued to care for dogs—ranging from playful puppies who need extra training and attention to senior dogs who require gentle care, daily medication, and special routines. Because of this experience, we’ve become very attentive to each dog’s unique needs, whether that means reinforcing positive habits, providing companionship, or ensuring they get the right balance of exercise, rest, and care. We don’t just “watch” pets—we treat them like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while their owners are away. I currently work from home three days a week, which allows me to spend a significant amount of time with my dog throughout the day. On the days I work in the office, my boyfriend, Jahn, who is a student at MPCHS, is able to come home from campus to check in, take our dog outside, provide fresh water, and spend time with him. Between the two of us, we have a consistent routine that ensures our dog is never left alone for extended periods and always receives the attention, exercise, and care he needs. Pet care is an important part of our daily routine, and we work together to make sure all of his needs are met. In my home, pets are free to roam around the apartment and make themselves comfortable. Whether that’s lounging on the couch or snuggling up in their favorite spot. I want them to feel safe, relaxed, and at home. I also make sure they get plenty of exercise and stimulation. We go to the dog park regularly, where they can socialize and play with other friendly dogs, including those of my friends who often bring their pups along. This way, your dog gets both companionship and fun in a safe, positive environment. Most importantly, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I make sure they’re cared for, happy, and loved while you’re away.
“Nina was wonderful with our shy puppy. She knew exactly how to approach him and gain his trust, and they became instant friends! Nina was also very communicative and flexible when we had a scheduling issue come up. I would definitely book her again.”

“Madison went above and beyond for my kitties while we were away! Great communication, thorough, kind with my boys, and even went so far as to clean up a bit before we got. She really cared about my boys being well taken care of. Thank you Madison!”
“This is my second time booking with Juani! They are a literal cat whisperer. My cat Kashi loves spending time with them, and I love the cute recaps of each visit. Thanks Juani!”

About: I have two dogs back at home, a shih-tzu and a mixed rescue, and have experience looking after boarding dogs at Great Valley Pet Hotel and Wagsworth Manor in Malvern, PA. I work part time so I am free most mornings, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and weekends. I am happy to work with you to find the best times and ensure your pet receives the attention they deserve! Your companion will receive plenty of attention, love, and pets! I love playing with all types of dogs, and will of course take them on walks and potty breaks.
About: I grown up in a household that has always had dogs. Family, friends, and neighbors have relied on me to take care of their pets since I was 12. I miss taking care of my parents dog, so I would love to take care of yours! I am active so I would love to take your pet on walks or play in the park. I have a fenced in yard and near plenty of parks, and am very aware of my surroundings inside and outside. I work remotely Wednesday through Friday and can schedule walks or sittings around my job. I am also available weekends at any time if day. Im Amanda, lover of all pets young and old, big and small. We can do walks, hikes, even to a play day at the park. I have a pet friendly apartment and a yard. Any specific requests for them? Let me know! I allow them on my bed and couch, unless you prefer them not to. I always keep the water bowl full and pets happy and healthy.

About: I have had one dog of my own for eight years, and she’s my favorite snuggle bug. I would love to care for your pet with as much joy and playtime as I would my own girl Bella! I grew up pet sitting dogs and cats, and most recently, my neighbor’s springer spaniel (so I am prepared for high energy dogs). My own dog had surgery so I am also well versed at caring for recovering animals and maintaining physical therapy as needed. I am comfortable with other animals in the home (cats, bunnies, etc.) and I believe in ease of communication, so am happy to provide updates as much as you like while sitting. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I am most available on weekday evenings after 4pm and on weekends. I am happy to do a walk or a drop-in visit. Sunday morning walks are my specialty - feel free to book me when you need to sleep in! I enjoy walking pets to the nearby park (behind continuum) and into Harvard square to walk along the Charles if they are comfortable around other people or animals. I am happy to walk your fur baby to their favorite spots. If it’s a play date, I have a well groomed fenced yard, your dog will have plenty of play space and attention.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Allston
Zoe is absolutely amazing. I can tell she genuinely cares about my pup and loves dogs. Zoe is responsive and even writes a detailed report of what they did and how he was behaving. She also takes so many cute pictures every time! Absolutely love having her take care of my pup :)

Kayala was truly wonderful; this was the first time I had spent more than a day or two from my (scaredy) cat, and having Kayala come and take care of her gave me huge peace of mind. Kayala is highly responsive, compassionate, and was a true joy to work with. Could not recommend her more highly.

Liza was very responsive and timely in her communication style. I appreciated her attention to detail and flexibility with our scheduling. She definitely went above and beyond and most importantly, gave me the peace of mind I needed to enjoy my vacation without being concerned about the wellbeing of my cat. I strongly recommend her to other pet owners.

Sydney is amazing!!! She has lots of experience working with dogs and it shows. Mine can be a bit rowdy at times but she had them sitting and calm within like a minute of being there! She’s super sweet and communicative as well. We would 100% use Sydney again. I had 0 concerns after meeting her and our experience was great!

I booked Claire while traveling out of state to care for my cat, Zelish, and she was exceptional. Claire was incredibly receptive to Zelish’s care instructions, paying close attention to specific details like water quality and regulating the apartment temperature during a severe heat wave. She even thoughtfully offered to water my plants, though it wasn't needed because I thoroughly watered before my departure. Her frequent photo updates gave me complete peace of mind while away. I am extremely grateful for her attentive care and would highly recommend booking with her again.

Nicole was our first experience with Rover. We were going on a fairly long vacation and couldn’t take our cat with us, so needless to say, we were a little nervous about leaving her behind. We booked Nicole for nine visits, and she was fantastic. She always showed up when she said she would, did everything we had asked, and sent us detailed updates after every visit. She played with our cat, groomed her when needed, replenished her water bowls, and cleaned the litter box. Nicole is an extremely reliable and dependable pet sitter—no weirdness, no drama, just someone you can trust to show up and take good care of your pet. We know pet sitting is only a temporary, part-time job for Nicole as she finishes college and prepares to move away from Boston, but the maturity, trustworthiness, reliability, and sense of responsibility she showed us will serve her well wherever her career takes her next. We are extremely grateful to Nicole for taking such good care of our cat and giving us peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely recommend her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
