“Julie is great! Very reliable and respectful. We left our keys at home and she on a weekend, while it wasn’t her working day, waited for us to go and get the spare keys from her. Also our cats loved her!”

“Amanda was great with taking care of my cats while I was gone. They clearly warmed up to her quickly based on the photos she sent. She handled insulin dosing my cat wonderfully. 10/10 would book again.”

“Alexa is super caring and was wonderful with my cat Pippa. Her photos were great and I could tell that she spent a lot of quality time loving on her, which made me feel so much more relaxed while I was away.”

“Sabina did an amazing job. Went above and beyond in taking care of my cat even bringing over a comb, some rub in shampoo, and staying extra one day. Truly a great cat sitter!”

“My cat loves Maegan! I have had her take care of my cat multiple times, and I’m so pleased with care and connection she has with him. I highly recommend having Maegan care for all your fur babies 😻”

“Darby is reliable and trustworthy. Having her check on my cats gave me peace of mind. She provided daily updates and cute pictures for each visit. She is great and I definitely recommend her!”

“Anna was a fantastic pet-sitter and I'm so glad I chose her to care for my cat Betty. Anna was excellent! She was responsive, communicative in booking, came over for a intro visit, and followed all the care instructions. She sent thorough updates on each visit, sent pictures, and really bonded with my (grumpy) cat. I loved her updates on my cat's behavior, bowel movements, and eating/drinking habits. I felt incredibly comfortable knowing I had her as a pet sitter, which is something all pet owners seek. I definitely recommend Anna for cat drop-in visits and intend to book her for future travel. Thank you Anna!”

“Sarah was excellent! She was very prompt and thorough in all of her communication leading up to and during the drop-in visit. She took great care of our dog. I highly recommend Sarah!”

“Sasha is great! She took amazing care of our two kitties while we were away for almost two weeks. Communication was excellent; she sent little updates and pictures every day. Thank you, Sasha!”

About: Hi! My name is Dora, and I'm a 20-year-old neurobiology student at Boston University. I've been around animals my entire life, growing up in a family that rescued pets. Back home, we currently have two cats and a dog who I miss very much while I'm away at school! In addition to caring for my own pets, I have experience dog sitting and cat sitting. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, cleaning litter boxes, and giving lots of love! I’m currently working part-time, so my schedule is very flexible! I am available in the mornings Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. I am available in the afternoons and night time Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday. I am currently living in a college apartment where I am not permitted to have any pets. But, I am happy to commute to your place!
“Sara was fantastic! Our old man cat clearly felt comfortable around her from the first meet and greet, and she kept us updated with amazing photos and details, going above and beyond to play with him and brush him in addition to the basic necessities, which was so nice!”

About: I’ve taken care of neighbors & family friends dogs since middle school, doing drop-ins, walks & overnight stays. I also have experience with senior dogs, both my own & friends’ who I’ve cared for. My childhood dog, and best friend, passed away almost two years ago, and as a huge dog lover, I’ve been missing having a pup in my life! I would love to love yours <3 I work a full-time job, but am hybrid, so I’m only in the office Tuesdays & Wednesdays! I can do walks in the mornings before work on Monday or Friday, after work any day of the week (adjusting for the commute on Tuesday/Wednesday), and can be free on the weekends! If you’re near where I live, I could also pop in during the work day on my remote days. Unfortunately our apartment doesn’t allow dogs :( But I will follow your lead on what works best for you & your pup(s) in your space! I want to make sure everyone feels comfortable with the routine & arrangement!
About: Hello, I would like to say I have had the joy of having dogs and petsitting throughout my life and have loved every aspect of it. My dog, Holly, lived to be 18 years old under my care. I took care of her from when she was a puppy until the end of her senior years so I have a wide range of knowledge on aging dogs. I have a lot of energy so keeping up with a dogs' exercise needs will be no problem. And to me, dogs are family. My dog was like a little sister to me so I understand the trust involved in letting someone else take care of them. I can assure you I have a wealth of compassion for animals, and, given the opportunity, I will care for your dog as if they were my own. Thank you for considering me to care for your dog and I hope you have an amazing day! My schedule is pretty flexible. As of this month I have all day Thursday and Friday available as well as the rest of the week as long as the pet care ends by 2pm. If this doesn't work for you please reach out so we can find a solution! I will keep this updated as my schedule opens up. My home has 2 locked doors to get in and is in a very safe part of Somerville. I currently have a gecko who I feed daily and ensure he has a balanced diet and regular vet appointments as well as enrichment. When I had dogs and cats in the past I was outside for hours every day playing with them and making sure their lives were happy and fun. It brings me a lot of joy to see animals happy and enjoying life. Their lives are so short I want to make every moment a great one.
About: I have helped take care of my parents' dogs since I was a kid. While I don’t have any pets of my own (yet!) I love to be around them. I am comfortable with watching a few dogs at a time, and even walking more than one at a time since my parents have 4 large dogs. I am also very comfortable with puppies, including potty and other training, having helped train 5 of my parents' dogs. I have watched other peoples’ dogs, and I know what questions I need to ask to get an idea of how to care for them well. I have experience caring for very young puppies, senior dogs, and dogs in heat. I've been missing the time with my family dogs and would be honored to spend time with yours! I’m currently between jobs having just finished graduate school so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I know the importance of routine for our furry friends and am looking for some of that for myself right now too! I will likely ask many questions when we first meet in order to make sure I know everything I need to care for your beloved pet properly. I love to send updates and photos to keep you in the loop and make you feel comfortable knowing your pups are well taken care of!
About: I've lived with dogs in a variety of environments through the years and have adopted roommates furry friends as my own children. The most unique setting has been the remote mountains of Glacier Peak Wilderness where I was tasked with hiking and camping over 50 miles with a 25lb Cairn Terrier who thought he could (and should) challenge marmots, deer, and bears alike to a wrestling match! Keeping your dogs safe and happy is my top priority. I am a part time grad student with a flexible and accomodating schedule! Most days I can spend all day with your furry family member, and others I will only be out for a smal chunk of time. I have lots of slots in my day where I can pop by for a walk or a frisbee game. I am a guest in yours and your pets home. I want to be there to keep their routine as predictable as I can to ensure their safety and comfort. I am a respectful visitor and make sure to ask questions so I can provide everything that they might need.
“Grace is awesome! She is very communicative and happily worked with my random schedule. I couldn’t be happier. And my dog loves Grace as well. He is all about people but he knows his favorites and Grace is one of them. She is great to work with!”

Liza is an amazing person and cat sitter. Going above and beyond, not only with Phyllis, but with our home as well. She is extremely well versed in the ways of the kitty, and we never worried, even for a minute, that Phyllis was getting the royal treatment. We will be thrilled if we can have Liza back to hang out with and take care of Phyllis. 10 out of 10

Aleksandra was amazing!!! She diligently took photos and completed all care tasks. She was very respectful of my home and sent additional updates when needed. All three cats can be difficult in their own ways and she was great with all of them, spending time with each individually. Thank you!

Aimee did a fantastic job at making me feel at ease with leaving my baby for a week. She sent plenty of pictures and made sure to include how Bubz was doing. Bubz eventually warmed up to her (as much as my cat can to a stranger 😂) which I'm very happy about. Will definitely book with Aimee again and hope she continues to use Rover.

Second time booking Annika, and she was again super communicative and great to work with! My kitty had a sudden health issue right before the booking and my trip, and Annika was so easy to work with and kind towards my kitty. She made sure my cat was well cared for, got her medicine, and reported any changes in her health and behavior to me each visit. Will definitely book Annika again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
