“Had a pre meeting prior to the visits to get to know us and make sure we are a good fit. Appreciated that. Highly recommend Traci. She is wonderful. Provided feedback, photos and was consistent. Thanks will use her again.”

About: I have taken care of pets for 5 years on and off. I am great with pets of all types! I bring high energy and fun to each visit, ready to help your pet have the best time while you’re away, even when they miss you. I would love the honor of caring for your pet whether you’re away or they just need a walk :) I’m currently working full time, but usually end my days by 3pm so I will have plenty of time in the afternoon and evenings to check on your companions! I am also able to stop by in the mornings before 7. I am available on weekends at anytime as long as it is scheduled in advance! I am able to take your dog for a walk and/or a run! If your pet is higher energy and needs more exercise, I am happy to take them on a run :)

“Julia took great care of our cat! She is communicative, reliable, understood/followed all care instructions, and clearly an animal lover. We knew our cat was in good hands. Highly recommend Julia for your animal sitting!”

“Bryana was an amazing for the drop in visits for my old lady Pumpkin. They were super responsive and the updates they provided were so cute and informative. They also went above and beyond making sure my cat was comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend them and will definitely hire them again the next time I travel.”

“Maria was amazing! Murphy is anxious around new people so can sometimes be difficult but she was patient with him - exactly what he needs! She was on time and made sure to send me pictures of Muprhy on their walk. So nice to have someone be able to let Murphy out and know he’s being well taken care of!”

“Susie was great with my Maine Coon Suka. She was professional and communicative. Suka is not used to meeting new people and can be an intimidating large cat, but Susie knew to give Suka her space and wait for when she’s ready. Suka warmed up to her and was side swiping her and rubbing against her. I’d hire Susie again.”

“Adelle provided great care for our cat Violet again. Helpful communication and appreciated updates. We would not hesitate to book pet care with Adelle. Thank you!”

“Emily was fantastic! She has a very calming demeanor and was so patient with my active dog! She really kept me in the loop when I was away with updates and pictures of my dog, and made sure he was well cared for! Emily is a competent, trustworthy, reliable and warm dog sitter whom I highly recommend!”

About: Hi my name is Nick! I'm a proud dog dad to my baby girl Olivia and a big heart and admiration for dogs of all kinds. I've had the experience of both having and taking care of many dogs in my life, including Pugs, Labs, Great Danes, and mix breeds. My favorite dog activities are to go on walks and play fetch in parks with them. I try to be consistent with enforcing good behavior towards them, as well as making sure they're well taken care of within their environment. My typical routine involves going walks for about 30 minutes on average, going to the dog park to get some energy out, and checking to see if they have water and food in their bowls I'm usually available in the afternoons and evenings throughout most of week, mostly on weekends. My time periods are 30 minutes to an hour with dog walking for each visit. When taking care of dogs I make sure that they are well feed, that they're well comfortable at their home especially if the temperature is too hot or cold outside, and that everything is secure and well closed off so that they wouldn't run off from home.
About: I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and devoted cat mom. Caring for my own pet has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and attention to detail. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I strive to provide reliable, compassionate care. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away. • Flexible availability on weekdays and weekends. • Morning, afternoon, and evening visits available. • Happy to accommodate your pet’s regular routine whenever possible. • Prompt communication throughout your booking. • Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. • I carefully follow feeding, medication, and care instructions. • Attentive to changes in behavior, routine, and wellbeing. • Regular updates and photos provided with every visit.
About: I am a registered nurse with a lifelong love of animals. I have always had pets since I was a little girl. I worked at an animal hospital throughout high school and college, I gained a lot of pet care experience there. I also worked on a farm growing up where I took care of horses, cats and dogs! I know how important it is to trust someone with your animals, as I have 2 kitties I care for very much! I am confident in handling all types of pet personalities and needs. I currently work 3 days per week not on a set schedule. I have 4 days off per week which is why I would love to do dog walking/sitting on those off days! I live in a dog friendly neighborhood in Watertown, MA. I love to walk around Fresh Pond, I also live near several dog parks! I can’t wait to meet your pup :)
“Isabelle did a great job! Our cat seemed very happy from the visit photos. Isabelle was very communicative and punctual, and gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away.”

“Abby was a good match for Bullet. She arrived when expected and spent an hour with him. The photo she sent us showed a happy and smiling dog! We are thankful for Rover connecting us with pet lovers.”

About: As an active athlete, daily walks with my own dogs isn't just a chore for me, it’s a lifestyle. Whether your dog needs a structured, high-energy jog or a long walk, I have the stamina and dedication to keep them active, happy, and tired by the time they get home. Because I'm a student-athlete home for the summer working only part-time, my schedule is incredibly flexible. My days are anchored by structured morning and evening workouts, meaning your dog will always get fed ant the right time and high-energy walks exactly when they need them. Because I'm not working a rigid 9-to-5, I'm able to make your pup my top priority throughout the day. Handling multiple dogs at once is second nature to me. In my own home, I regularly manage walking my Wheaton terrier, Wire Fox Terrier, and Bernedoodle all at the same time. They each have completely different energy levels and walking paces, so I've mastered the mechanics of balancing multiple leashes, maintaining control, and ensuring every dog gets taken care of. I love matching whatever energy your dog brings to the table. If they are a high-energy pup who needs to burn off steam, I have the stamina to keep up with them. But if your dog is a little more low-key and chill like my Bernedoodle, I’m just as happy laying down on the couch, watching a good show, and giving them all the belly rubs they want!
About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, especially dogs. I grew up with a family dog for 15 years and was always surrounded by dogs through friends and extended family, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I have hands on experience with daily care, potty training, and understanding dog behavior, and I’m confident handling everything from high energy pups to more relaxed, older dogs. While my background is primarily with dogs, I bring that same attentiveness, patience, and reliability to caring for cats, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own space. Pet care fits well into my daily routine. I work a standard eight hour day, so pets would have some alone time during work hours. Before and after work, I make sure they get plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and care. I also have roommates who can help with a midday check in or let pets out if needed, which helps break up the day. I’m very mindful of keeping pets comfortable, sticking to their routines, and making sure they feel cared for even on a work schedule. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities, and I adjust my approach based on the environment. In my own home, I make sure the space is clean, pet safe, and free of anything they could get into. I keep a consistent routine for feeding, walks, and playtime so pets feel settled and comfortable. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, routines, and any specific preferences. I make sure pets stay in secure areas, keep doors and gates closed, and maintain a calm, familiar environment. I also pay close attention to behavior and energy levels to make sure each pet feels safe, relaxed, and well cared for.

“Carol was absolutely amazing! I have a very anxious/reactive dog and we rarely get to go on any vacations because of this. Carol made time for us, even though she was just getting over being sick to come meet with my dog Gio prior to our trip and was extremely kind and understanding with him. She let him warm up to her, and with every visit he got more and more comfortable. Carol gave us detailed reports everyday with many pictures of Gio and it gave so much peace of mind to me and my family. She made sure our fur baby was taken care of and got the one on one time he needed. I could not recommend her more! Thank you Carol!!!”

About: I am a social worker for humans professionally but apply the same kind of all encompassing empathy and love for dogs. I haven't had a dog of my own yet, but I've lived with and cared for many dogs over the last several years, and I’m an auntie to many close friends’ pups. Just waiting until I can be a full-time pet mom before I get a pup of my own. I can commute to you by car or public transportation. I am happy to have your dog be in my car. I just want to go on adventures in the outdoors and explore with your pup! I will love him or her as my own. Hope to hear from you soon! While I am taking care of your pet, I will be very attentive to their needs and involve them in my day as much as possible! Will spend majority of my time with your pet. I will be on top of all of their feeding, toileting, exercising and socializing needs. They are my #1 priority! I recently started my own psychotherapy practice and I work Tuesday-Friday. I go into my office most days but can alter that as needed for pet sitting. On Saturdays, Sunday’s and Mondays- your fur babies will have my undivided attention! I don’t have a fenced yard but I live near many dog parks where I could take your pup. I live in an apartment building but it’s rather small, with only 6 units total, and it’s pretty quiet with very little foot traffic. I’m happy to do whatever is necessary for caring for your pets, whether it’s in my home or yours!
“Maegan has been caring for our pets for over a year now and always does the most amazing job, and a great bonus are her amazing photos! Some of the best ones I have of our pets were ones she took. Overall a great pet sitter.”

Marina took great care of my cat. He is young with a lot of energy and she spent the time to really play with him and learn what he likes during her AM and PM visits. Her daily notes are very detailed and I felt 100% comfortable with having her in charge for a week. I would highly recommend her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
