“Scooting is typical of Mae, inconsistent but common. Ill keep an eye on her, it could be a sign of a vaginal issue. Thanks for your help today. My train back to Boston, 30 minutes in, is heading back to NY due to an electrical issue. If this turns out to be an issue that requires me to stay in NY tonight, would you be available tomorrow AM to walk and feed them? I dont want to confirm any plans until I know what Amtrak is going to do. I’ll request the booking through Rover when I know.”

“Alyssa is amazing! She took care of Emilio, my cat, while I was away. Communication was great, and she helped me clean after, which is always appreciated. Thank you !”

About: Hi my name is Nick! I'm a proud dog dad to my baby girl Olivia and a big heart and admiration for dogs of all kinds. I've had the experience of both having and taking care of many dogs in my life, including Pugs, Labs, Great Danes, and mix breeds. My favorite dog activities are to go on walks and play fetch in parks with them. I try to be consistent with enforcing good behavior towards them, as well as making sure they're well taken care of within their environment. My typical routine involves going walks for about 30 minutes on average, going to the dog park to get some energy out, and checking to see if they have water and food in their bowls I'm usually available in the afternoons and evenings throughout most of week, mostly on weekends. My time periods are 30 minutes to an hour with dog walking for each visit. When taking care of dogs I make sure that they are well feed, that they're well comfortable at their home especially if the temperature is too hot or cold outside, and that everything is secure and well closed off so that they wouldn't run off from home.

“Carol took great care of my senior cat and helped us feel more comfortable with leaving him. She gave him his wet food daily to keep up his regular routine and sent us daily updates and pictures. She took an earful from him everyday, but I appreciate her dedication so he could stay home in his environment rather than being boarded. Thanks, Carol!”
“I booked Hanna last minute to dog sit our aussie Freckles and she was amazing! Super flexible, friendly, and great with our pup. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Chloe is great. Her updates and photos put us at ease to know our cat was doing well while we were away. She is super communicative and we appreciated her checking in on our cat!”

“Kay is a great cat sitter! She comes on time, shows our Ted plenty of love, and sends us detailed updates along with pictures. She is also super responsive to messages. Would definitely use her services again!”

“Julia took great care of our cat! She is communicative, reliable, understood/followed all care instructions, and clearly an animal lover. We knew our cat was in good hands. Highly recommend Julia for your animal sitting!”

“Laura was thorough and so attentive when watching our girls. Having such a thorough sitter was a weight off our shoulders when we we traveling. Looking forward to our next sessions!”
“Maria was amazing! Murphy is anxious around new people so can sometimes be difficult but she was patient with him - exactly what he needs! She was on time and made sure to send me pictures of Muprhy on their walk. So nice to have someone be able to let Murphy out and know he’s being well taken care of!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, especially dogs. I grew up with a family dog for 15 years and was always surrounded by dogs through friends and extended family, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I have hands on experience with daily care, potty training, and understanding dog behavior, and I’m confident handling everything from high energy pups to more relaxed, older dogs. While my background is primarily with dogs, I bring that same attentiveness, patience, and reliability to caring for cats, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own space. Pet care fits well into my daily routine. I work a standard eight hour day, so pets would have some alone time during work hours. Before and after work, I make sure they get plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and care. I also have roommates who can help with a midday check in or let pets out if needed, which helps break up the day. I’m very mindful of keeping pets comfortable, sticking to their routines, and making sure they feel cared for even on a work schedule. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities, and I adjust my approach based on the environment. In my own home, I make sure the space is clean, pet safe, and free of anything they could get into. I keep a consistent routine for feeding, walks, and playtime so pets feel settled and comfortable. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, routines, and any specific preferences. I make sure pets stay in secure areas, keep doors and gates closed, and maintain a calm, familiar environment. I also pay close attention to behavior and energy levels to make sure each pet feels safe, relaxed, and well cared for.
About: As much as I love playing with puppies I have a fondness for senior dogs. I have spent more time caring for senior dogs and enjoy being around them. I worked nights and was always available for vet appointments. My dog Nicholas went to aquatherapy often and my Pug did acupuncture. I have cared for dogs needing meds, diaper changes, extra lifts, & short walks that required a long time. I often had dogs that needed fresh or homemade food and lots of treats & love. Being retired I am often home working on projects. I also am fortunate to have friends all over the country. I go to their homes and care for their pets while they vacation. I currently have no pets. I live 50ft to the paths along the Charles River. It is a great place to walk dogs. We come upon small wildlife, other dogs and lots of joggers. Some dogs still get excited need some training and treats. I have spent hours out there sitting with pets.
About: I am an absolute dog-lover and will provide your pup with the care and affection they need. I am open to pet sitting, dog walking, or quick pop-ins. If your dog loves walks and exploring the outdoors; if you need a reliable dog sitter; and if you want to have confidence in your dog's safety while you're away, please contact me and I would be thrilled to discuss what works best for you and your pup. I work from home and am available for walks most days of the week, with flexible timing. I can dog sit week days and weekends with proper notice. I prefer to stay in my clients homes where the dog is most comfortable, offering a gentle transition to your absence! I do offer stays at my home, however the dog must be house trained but I have great walking areas around me and a small backyard.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Watertown
Sydney is amazing!!! She has lots of experience working with dogs and it shows. Mine can be a bit rowdy at times but she had them sitting and calm within like a minute of being there! She’s super sweet and communicative as well. We would 100% use Sydney again. I had 0 concerns after meeting her and our experience was great!

I booked Claire while traveling out of state to care for my cat, Zelish, and she was exceptional. Claire was incredibly receptive to Zelish’s care instructions, paying close attention to specific details like water quality and regulating the apartment temperature during a severe heat wave. She even thoughtfully offered to water my plants, though it wasn't needed because I thoroughly watered before my departure. Her frequent photo updates gave me complete peace of mind while away. I am extremely grateful for her attentive care and would highly recommend booking with her again.

It’s hard to tell who has more fun when Megan walks Clare! Today, they explored far beyond what I booked Megan to do. We ‘ve been relying on Megan for two walks each time we call on her, and she’s very responsible, considerate, and loving to Clare, always adding tummy rubs and topping off her food and water before she leaves.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
