Safety, trust & environment
I treat each pet as if it were my own. I believe in building trust not only with my human clients, but with the animals as well. I do not push animals to do things they are not comfortable with, and prioritize their health and safety above all else. This means relying on positive reinforcement training techniques and allowing space for each pet to be comfortable
Information Julia B. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know what special needs (medical, behavior, etc) your pet may have. Is your dog or cat on any medication? Are they wary of any people or situations? Is there anything I should avoid when spending time with them?
A typical day
I believe in the importance of enrichment for each animal. I know the importance of one on one play time and interaction, but know that not all dogs or cats love to play the same way or at all- some prefer cuddle time, and I am happy to cater to each pet individually

Pet care experience
My name is Julia, and I have been caring for animals in various capacities for most of my life. I most recently worked as a vet tech at a Somerville vet clinic and have previous experience in an animal shelter for four years as both an adoptions counselor and foster coordinator. Beyond that, I volunteered at two different shelters before that. I currently have my own dog and have lived with dogs and cats of various ages and sizes over the past 8 years. On top of working with animals and having my own pets, I have also been pet sitting and dog walking for the past 16 years. I have a flexible schedule and experience with a variety of pet care, including medical. I am able to walk dogs of all sizes, and I hope you will allow me to take care of your furry loved ones. Feel free to enquire if you have further questions! I work full time away from home so I am only able to drop in around my work schedule. I work in Harvard Square and live near Teele Square so prefer if your pet is near to those spots! I take care of pets as they were my own. I work on a positive reinforcement training style and do not work with clients who use aversive training techniques. I believe in the safety of the pet first and foremost, in whichever regard that may be
Reviews

Julia is a caring, conscientious sitter. Would recommend her to any pet owner!

Julia was fantastic! We spent a weekend away for our wedding and didn’t have to worry one bit about the cats while we were gone. Her reports were thorough and we came back to a clean home and happy cats!

Julia was a great sitter, easy to contact and a good find. Would definitely ask her to sit again.

Julia was so kind and responsive, she did a great job looking after our pup! From the first visit our dog was super happy and comfortable with Julia. It was much easier to leave for the weekend knowing that Lola was going to get lots of love and attention from her new friend. Thanks Julia!
