About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life, including two Labrador Retrievers named Maverick and Goose, and a Beagle that I cared for over 10 years, so I’m very comfortable with daily routines, exercise, and understanding different personalities. I’ve also done several overnight house-sitting and dog care jobs, working with a wide range of breeds, from small dogs like pugs to larger, high-energy dogs like huskies. I’ve always had a genuine love for animals and caring for them. The first animal I really fell in love with was a manatee when I was about 5 years old living in Florida, and that kind of stuck with me. My time as a kid was spent at the beach boogie boarding out into the ocean hoping a dolphin would find me and become my friend. Growing up, I loved going to the aquarium and the zoo to learn about different animals, and I’ve always been especially drawn to red pandas and stingrays. That curiosity and appreciation carries over into how I care for pets—I really enjoy getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel safe and happy. In addition, I have a lot of hands-on caregiving experience through taking care of my brother who has special needs, as well as working with special needs youth. That’s taught me to be patient, attentive, and very in tune with individual needs, which I bring into how I care for animals as well. Pet care honestly fits into my routine really naturally because it’s something I genuinely enjoy and look forward to. I have a part-time job in the mornings and some evenings, so I have a lot of flexibility during the day to spend quality time with dogs—whether that’s going on long walks, stopping by for visits, or just hanging out and keeping them company. I grew up with dogs and took care of my Beagle for 10 years, so I’m very used to building my day around their needs. It doesn’t feel like a task to me—it’s something I love doing. Being around dogs, getting outside, and making sure they’re happy and cared for is something I naturally make time for every day. I focus on making pets feel comfortable, safe, and at ease by sticking closely to their normal routine. I know how important consistency is, so I follow feeding schedules, walk times, and any specific instructions carefully. When I’m in a client’s home, I’m very respectful of their space and make sure their dog is always supervised and within my sight. I pay attention to their behavior and energy so I can respond to what they need, whether that’s a long walk, playtime, or just relaxing together so they don’t feel alone. If I’m caring for a pet in my own home, I create a calm, safe environment where they get plenty of attention, exercise, and downtime. I really just try to treat every dog like my own and make sure they feel happy and cared for the whole time.
“Zilalai is so great with my large husky! She learned the commands he knows and uses them for him. This helps us so much, and him, with sticking with routine. It’s a breath of fresh air to have Zilalai!”

“Isla took great care of sparkles and melon. She was easy to coordinate and communicate with at a late notice, and I had full confidence that my pups would have a safe walk!”

“Ana Beatriz is wonderful and I highly recommend her. My dog instantly loved her and she does a great job at motivating him on walks (sometimes he's a bit lazy). She also communicates very well and provides great updates.”

“This is the second time Kira has walked my pit bull mix, Bebe, and she’s been amazing both times! The first time, it was extremely hot outside, and she stayed a little longer after the walk just to make sure Bebe was doing okay. Today, she was able to walk Bebe again even though I reached out at the very last minute. She also fed her, which I really appreciated. She’s incredibly sweet, reliable, and Bebe seemed to love her. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again whenever I need someone to take care of Bebe. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi! I’m Paige, a graduate student at MassArt and lifelong animal lover. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, fish, and small pets, and have years of experience helping friends, roommates, and family members with pet care. I specialize in cats and small dogs and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. My goal is always to make pets feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I’m happy to provide regular photo and text updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re gone! As a graduate student, I have a flexible schedule during the summer and plenty of availability for pet care. I'm available for drop-in visits, walks, and house sitting on both weekdays and weekends. I understand the importance of consistency in a pet's routine and will work to make sure they receive exactly what they need! I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust. I take that responsibility very seriously by following care instructions closely and treating every home with respect. I prioritize clear communication and regular updates so owners can feel confident that both their pets and their homes are being well cared for.
About: I’ve cared for numerous different kinds of animals over the last 9 years, especially dogs and cats! I’ve spent several years caring for an old pup that needs daily medication and special care. I’ve raised a high energy puppy to be a very sweet and gentle well trained baby. I know how to get your pups energy out and care for your older animals. I have a sweet 15 year old cat & am experienced in administering medication to cats. I am professional, reliable and provide detailed updates and lots of photos so you can see your babies while you’re away! I am working part time and have plenty of time to play with your pets! I take my own dogs on walks 2-3 times a day, in addition to 1-2 play sessions with frisbee or fetch. My pups are my passion and I would love to have yours join the crew for a bit! I have two friendly dogs to keep your pets entertained and happy! I take them on several walks a day and several play sessions. I have a separate area for your pet if they prefer or need their space. My home is safe, fun, yet calm at the right times!

“Gabriela has been wonderful with my dog. She is reliable, communicative and extremely accommodating. My dog can be leash reactive around other dogs and Gabriela is wonderful in navigating him away from troublesome situations. Highly recommend!”

“Hannah was great! I had to go out of town for a conference and we needed someone to take our dog Riley out during the afternoon for a break and a walk. Great communication, and very easy to work with. I'm sure Riley can't wait for the next time I have to go out of town so he can see Hannah again!”

“Thomas is such a gem!!! Book him! He’s punctual, communicates well, and is patient. My dog Cairo is not everyone’s ’cup of tea’ (not that I care, since I love him) but he’s vocal at times from excitement and has high energy as a 2 year old Aussiedoodle. Thomas arrived on time, and took Cairo on an hour long dog walk. Although it was 80+ degree humid weather with no breeze, he did it with a smile on his face. Moving forward, whenever I need a walker for Cairo (most likely 1x weekly), I will contact Thomas to check his availability. And next time Thomas, I’ll have a nice cold unopened bottled water for you. Thomas, thank you for bonding with Cairo and accepting his high energy level. Not sure if you’re told this enough, but you are absolutely amazing!”

About: Hi! I'm Abby, a registered nurse currently transitioning into my career as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. During this transition, I'm excited to spend my free time caring for pets, because I've always been an animal lover! I grew up with dogs of all sizes, including Labs, a Labradoodle, and Pugs, as well as a cat, so I'm comfortable with pets of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just some extra cuddles, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. As a nurse, I'm dependable, responsible, and attentive to detail. You can trust me to follow your pet's routine, administer medications if needed, and keep you updated with photos and messages while you're away. I'm happy to walk locally or drive to your preferred location to make sure your pet gets the care and attention they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! My availability can vary from week to week because of my nursing schedule. However, for the first two weeks of August, I have open availability and can accommodate walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting throughout the day. I do my best to keep my calendar up to date and am always happy to discuss scheduling, feel free to reach out, and I'll do everything I can to make it work! Creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet is my top priority. As a registered nurse, I'm naturally attentive, dependable, and detail-oriented, and I bring those same qualities to caring for your furry family members. While my apartment doesn't allow pets, I regularly get my "pet fix" by visiting my family's dogs whenever I can. Caring for animals has always been a part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy giving them the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. I'll treat your home with respect and your pets as if they were my own, so you can feel confident they're in caring and capable hands.
About: Growing up my home had all kinds of pets from bunnies to fish, but most importantly dogs and cats! I’ve grown up with various dog breeds from small to big. I’ve also helped care for dogs with anxiety, handled dogs with behavioral issues and familiar with walking large dogs. I’ve handled puppies and smaller breeds as well with bottle feeding and medication. I currently work for a dog toy company focused on making dogs happy! I often foster and volunteer when I can at local shelters. My love of animals goes beyond pets to fueling my mission to care for pets/rescues. I’m a graduate from Boston University currently here for the summer. I’m a social media intern for a small dog toy brand and work remote so I’m flexible with my time and hope to fill my free time by caring for pets! I’m openly available and ready at the whim to help in case you need a hand spontaneously! As a pet owner, I would treat all pets as my top priority just as I would for my own fur babies. I’ll be sure to send detailed updates, communicate thoroughly and be as helpful as possible to clients that could use an extra hand with their pets.
“Alissa is an amazing dog walker. We deeply appreciate how reliable and consistent she is, and how well she manages our dog with reactivity. She always comes on time and has been mindful of the summer heat when going on walks. Alissa has been an absolute asset to our family and we are wicked lucky to have her!!”

“Rachel was a huge help when I was out of town for the weekend, walking and feeding my girl who has some behavioral issues. She was communicative, kind, and most of all - great with my pup! Thanks for everything and will definitely book again!”

“Kaitlin was great! We scheduled a meet and greet and Pep was excited to meet her. She gave him lots of treats and rolled over for her. She also asked good questions about him and paid close attention to the notes I left her. I booked her for a walk while I was at work. Kaitlin was extremely prompt with communication and professional. I will definitely be booking her in the future. Thanks, Kaitlin!”

“Grace is awesome with my dog! She's super reliable and has gotten to know my dog and her reactivity triggers well. I appreciate her being mindful of the hot weather we've had recently and her being communicative. Highly recommend Grace!!”

“Cori was great with my 80lb pup for walks! She was flexible in scheduling, sent me lots of pictures so I knew she was being well taken care of, and was available for a quick meet and greet a few days before walking her. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Allston
Lucy is so wonderful and such a caring and kind sitter. She is responsive, helpful, and communicative! I felt so at ease knowing she was spending time with my pup while I was at work. She made sure he got a great walk and had plenty of water after their walk. I can’t say enough positive things about Lucy. We appreciate her so much and are so grateful we met her !!

Luis is kind, thoughtful and very patient. It’s no surprise to say that he’s good with dogs, but of our two that he worked with, one is reactive and anxious. Luis did not let that bother him. He was confident and let her approach him at her pace. Never once did he rush their meeting. He clearly understands dogs, and treated our two like individuals, which was really important because they are so different. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
