“Kaitlin was great! We scheduled a meet and greet and Pep was excited to meet her. She gave him lots of treats and rolled over for her. She also asked good questions about him and paid close attention to the notes I left her. I booked her for a walk while I was at work. Kaitlin was extremely prompt with communication and professional. I will definitely be booking her in the future. Thanks, Kaitlin!”

“Rachel was a huge help when I was out of town for the weekend, walking and feeding my girl who has some behavioral issues. She was communicative, kind, and most of all - great with my pup! Thanks for everything and will definitely book again!”

About: I’ve spent my whole life around animals — from helping raise dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, and hamsters in my own home, to professionally pet sitting and walking since I was a a young teen. What sets me apart is how naturally and intuitively I connect with animals of all kinds and how deeply I care about making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved when they're with me! I’ve had the unique (& humbling😄) experience of raising & training (crate, potty, leash) a beagle puppy as a 15-yr-old, while also helping my senior golden retriever through end-of-life care. I've also fostered and understand the unique needs of different breeds, temperaments, and how to meet pups where they're at. Whether it’s managing an energetic puppy's exercise routine, gently caring for a senior pet's slower pace, or understanding how to read a timid dog's body language—I’m highly attuned to the needs of every pet & always happy to follow special instructions.😊 My ultimate goal is to make sure your pet feels right at home with me & give you complete peace of mind knowing they’re in the most loving, reliable hands possible! I’m currently focusing full-time on pet care, so I have a very open & flexible schedule! Whether you need a midday walk, overnight care, or last-minute help, I’m available & happy to work around your routine. I genuinely love spending time with animals & I’m excited to fill my days/weeks giving your pet the attention they deserve. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, their safety, comfort, and happiness always come first. I’ll follow your pet’s routine, keep your & their space clean and safe, and send regular updates (& pics). Any specific instructions should be discussed ahead of time, otherwise I’ll ask questions as they arise. I am highly attentive to communications (messaging/calls) when pet sitting for everyone’s sake! I live in a spacious, 3-bed 2-bath, 2nd story sunny apartment with plenty of room to play & relax. I have a lots of cat/dog toys, but happy to use yours if applicable. My neighborhood is very safe and quiet, with quick access to the street for potty breaks & right around the corner from a beautiful park with a fenced-in play area - plus walking distance from 2 fenced dog parks for extra exercise & playtime.
“Ana Beatriz is wonderful and I highly recommend her. My dog instantly loved her and she does a great job at motivating him on walks (sometimes he's a bit lazy). She also communicates very well and provides great updates.”

“Gabriela has been wonderful with my dog. She is reliable, communicative and extremely accommodating. My dog can be leash reactive around other dogs and Gabriela is wonderful in navigating him away from troublesome situations. Highly recommend!”

“Allison is awesome!! She's so good with my reactive pup!! She's attentive, punctual, and overall a fantastic dog walker! Margo (my dog) and my family love Allison!”

“On short notice Tab came over to meet my 4 year old Golden Retriever, Waffles, and then to walk him for a couple of days when I could not. Thomas/Tab is articulate, energetic, responsive and steady. We were having significant subway / metro problems here in Boston and Tab kept me informed. I recommend him wholeheartedly.”

“Kayleigh was very easy to communicate with and flexible with her arrangements as I had booked two walkers for the same day! She was very willing to change times and thoughtful about my needs. I will absolutely have her back next week!”

About: While I’ve worked at the SPCA, I have experience with dogs and cats. I have owned dogs and am a huge animal lover. I believe animals make our days better and caring for them properly is incredibly important. I’m working part time as a server and an actress so I have flexibility in my days to get a walk in. I am currently getting my serving schedule and will update when I have the exact dates. I am also a recent graduate of Boston University so I live near campus. I try to read as many signs as I can with whatever animal I am working with. I usually approach very calmly and make sure to set up a base relationship of trust between the animal and I. I will also note what I think they need based on their behaviors but it all starts with a foundation of trust and them getting to know me as I get to know them.
“Cori was great with my 80lb pup for walks! She was flexible in scheduling, sent me lots of pictures so I knew she was being well taken care of, and was available for a quick meet and greet a few days before walking her. She is responsible and sweet. Highly recommend and will definitely use again!”

“Atlas has so much fun! Anthony has been great in helping him build confidence w men and atlas always is tired afterward! Anthony is great at communication highly recommend!”

“Zilalai goes above and beyond to provide love and care for our Husky. She is so accommodating and flexible with our needs and requests and we always feel so confident and relaxed with our dog in her care. We are so grateful for her!”

“Atlas’ ride or die. His day one. Alexandra has been with us for about a year and literally I have no idea how we could’ve done it without her. She is so knowledgeable and good and I cannot sing her praises enough”

“Annie is absolutely fabulous! She is very flexible and communicative and was willing to come meet my pup ahead of time in short notice. My dog loves her and is a big puppy full of energy, which she handles beautifully. 10/10 would recommend and will be using Annie for future needs!”

“Would highly recommend Alexis for your dog walking needs. I know my dog is in good hands whenever I book with her. She is punctual, reliable, and communicative. I appreciate the sweet photos and updates. Thank you, Alexis!!”

About: I have cared for my families two toy poodles since I was fifteen. More recently I have started to volunteer at an animal shelter and have learned a lot. I am currently home from college for the summer so I have a lot of free time. My best availability would be around 8am to 12pm, but I am very flexible. I have a fenced yard and I live in a small walkable community that does not receive a lot of traffic. I am good at following directions and take care of your pets the way you would like!

“I felt so confident that my dog loved Julia that I was able to fully enjoy my vacation. She posted lots of photos and updated often, just all around great communication and a wonderful person ❤️”

About: Hello! My name is Annie and I have been a dog lover for my entire life, at one point my family owned 5 dogs! I graduated from UMass Amherst in 2017 and during my 4 years there I was a volunteer at a greyhound rescue that took in retired racing greyhounds. During my time there I learned how to care for dogs with many different needs and temperments and I discovered a passion for taking care of dogs. I currently live in an house in Oak Bluffs with my 8 year old goldendoodle Maya and 4 year old labradoodle Luna. I have a fully fenced in yard and work from home so I am able to be with your pups all day and give them lots of attention, potty breaks, and playtime. My husband and I also walk the dogs together frequently and we would be happy to take your pups out on walks as well! I am currently working full time from home so your pup will be able to chill with me all day! My older dog is very relaxed and likes to sleep most of the day but my younger dog LOVES to play and if you have a dog that loves to play I have a big backyard for them to play in! I have a larger fenced in back yard that is great for dogs to relax or play in. When walking outside I will always have your dogs on a leash.

Mirabel was so awesome! She helped me out last minute by walking Theo and even though he gave her lots of trouble by hiding from her at first, she was so patient with him and still took him on a long walk. She provided a thorough note and lots of photos which I greatly appreciated. 10/10 would recommend!

Leilani is a wonderful dogwalker. When she came for a meet and greet, Junie liked her right away. Leilani listened carefully to all instructions and was warm and friendly. She walked Junie three times in two days, sending pics and updates each time. She seemed to enjoy her time with Junie, and made sure to give Blue some love too while she was here. I will absolutely request Leilani to care for Junie and Blue in the future.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Allston. On Rover:
- 90% of walkers can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
