About Amanda D.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for a pet in the clients home, I would treat their space with the same respect and care I would want someone to show my own home. I will follow any instructions you leave closely, and respect your space as I would want mine to be. I also understand that inviting a new person into your home can feel stressful! Not only because of your pet, but because of your personal space as well. I want you to feel completely comfortable while you’re away, and I will do everything I can to earn and maintain your trust through clear communication and respect!
Information Amanda D. would like to know about your pet
I’d love to know your pet’s normal routine, personality, likes and dislikes, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and safe. Please let me know about feeding schedules, medications, allergies, walking preferences, fears or sensitivities, behaviors to be aware of, and how they typically interact with people or other animals. I also appreciate knowing where their favorite toys, treats, leash, food, and other essentials are located, along with emergency contact and veterinary information. The more I know about your pet beforehand, the better I can care for them!
A typical day
A typical day will depend on your pet’s personality, energy level, and routine. So I would depend on you to communicate that to me! For dogs, I would love to go on walks, and getting outside, but also if they are more of a couch potato, I am also down to do that! For cats, I’ll follow their lead, as I know they take more time to get comfortable. That could mean interactive play, cuddles, brushing, or simply spending quiet time together.

Pet care experience
I’ve grown up around dogs and have always enjoyed being around them. While I’m new to professional pet sitting, I’ve cared for friends’ dogs and am confident with walks, feeding, playtime, and maintaining their usual routines. I also have extensive professional experience as a teacher of young children, which has developed my patience, responsibility, and ability to follow structured routines. I believe these are all caregiving skills that translate well to caring for pets, as well as having a professional attitude while doing it. I will care for your pet as I would any small being in my care and am happy to provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind!

Reviews
Amanda took wonderful care of our cat Suki for the week we were away. She was so caring and communicative. She sent us frequent text updates and photos, checked in to make sure Suki had plenty of her favorite food, and even administered her medication! Suki is a very shy cat around new people, but I could tell from the photos and her demeanor when we returned that she quickly became very comfortable and loving towards Amanda. It’s always hard to leave your pet for a long trip, but I had no doubt that Suki was in great hands.
Amanda is one of the best caretakers I know, both with animals and children. I trust her wholeheartedly in caring for my cat while I am away! She is responsible, dedicated and nurturing, and I am so lucky to have her to depend on when I need cat care!
