“Lucy is so wonderful and such a caring and kind sitter. She is responsive, helpful, and communicative! I felt so at ease knowing she was spending time with my pup while I was at work. She made sure he got a great walk and had plenty of water after their walk. I can’t say enough positive things about Lucy. We appreciate her so much and are so grateful we met her !!”

“Nicole took the time to really gauge what Cocoa wanted each day. Some days all she wants is to play or get belly rubs and others she wants a long walk around the neighborhood. She always sent a report on how Cocoa was and what they did and included great pictures of her playing or getting pets. I couldn't recommend Nicole enough!”

About: I am a lifetime pet owner to a dog and cat, Truffle and Izzy. Aside from growing up with animal siblings, I have also worked as a dog walker, for large dogs, a doberman named Zeke, and small puppies, a Portuguese water dog named Cleo, and a range in-between. I have also house sitted for dog and cat owners. I am a college student waiting for the fall semester to start back up again, so I am largely free! I am an early riser so getting those morning walks is no probably! As well, I am available for boarding most days of the week. At home, I am all about playing and hanging out with my dogs and cats. Being with animals all my life has allowed me to know when things are getting too rowdy or when a dog or cat just wants some space. I'm all for fun and games unless there are rules that need to be followed. A counter that is off limits, section of house, or a specific nighttime routine, and I am not playing around but being stern yet gentle.

“Santiago was amazing with my 2 very high energy dogs! He was very quick to respond and gave lots of updates and sent lots of pictures! Would definitely use again & highly recommend”

About: I’ve been a dedicated dog owner for over 10 years and have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. In addition to caring for my own dog, I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, where I helped care for dogs by walking, feeding, socializing, and providing them with attention and comfort. I understand the importance of keeping pets safe, following routines, and making sure they feel happy and loved while their owners are away. I’ll care for your pet as if they were my own! I’m currently on break from graduate school receiving my Masters in Social Worker for the summer, and am free almost anytime during the day until September! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I’ll always treat your home and your pet with the utmost respect. I’ll carefully follow your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions to help them feel safe and comfortable. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away!
“Mirabel is always so good with our dog! She’s highly reliable and clearly loves working with animals. Her constant communication is excellent as well. I’ll always recommend her!”

About: Just hear to take that worry off your plate completely and replace it with real peace of mind. This is incredibly personal to me because I’ve always believed pets are family. What sets me apart from other pet sitters is the lifetime of hands-on experience I’ve had with animals and the calm, attentive care I provide. I grew up surrounded by cats and dogs and have continued to be around them ever since, so being around animals feels very natural to me. When caring for pets for friends and family, I’ve often watched multiple animals at once, usually two or three dogs along with a few cats, so I’m very comfortable managing different personalities, routines, and energy levels. I’m experienced with everyday pet care tasks such as walking, playtime, bathroom breaks, feeding schedules, and administering medications when needed. I also make it a priority to give each pet attention and care tailored to their individual needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. I currently work full time, so I’m typically available for pet care in the afternoons and evenings during the week, as well as on weekends. Depending on the location, I may also be available for visits during my lunch break on weekdays. I’m happy to work with owners to find times that fit their pet’s routine and make sure they receive consistent, reliable care. Unfortunately I currently live in an apartment that doesn’t allow pets, but I have a cat who lives with my parents, so I’m very familiar with daily pet care and routines. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow the owner’s instructions closely. I make sure to stick to the pet’s usual routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications if needed. I also treat every home with respect, keeping things clean, secure, and making sure pets feel comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away.
“Hyesoo is responsible and dependable, communication was excellent from start to finish. She shows up on time, followed the instructions, and really cared about my dogs’ safety and well-being. My dogs came back happy and well exercised”

About: I absolutely love dogs, and while mine are at home back in California I would love to spend some time taking care of dogs in Boston. I've had dogs for my entire life and have gotten to experience every aspect of caring for them. I have also helped with the process of guide dog puppy training (basic behavior and becoming comfortable with different environments). Currently dog walking & drop in visits work best for my schedule, but I am also open to chatting about shorter dog sitting jobs to see if it could be a good fit! I'm currently a part time student at Northeastern University, with a flexible schedule outside of my classes! Dog walking and drop-in visits often work best for my schedule, but 1-2 night dog sitting jobs also occasionally work for me! Happy to chat through any possibilities if you reach out! Petsitting location dependent on dog behavior, size, and schedule! I currently live in an apartment with 5 roommates so need to get approval from all house members before accepting. Happy to also care for your pet at their home. Typically my availability works best for single-night petsitting as opposed to longer stays, but happy to chat to figure out if it's a good fit!
“Grace is awesome with my dog! She's super reliable and has gotten to know my dog and her reactivity triggers well. I appreciate her being mindful of the hot weather we've had recently and her being communicative. Highly recommend Grace!!”

“Very communicative throughout the session. Cleo and i’s first time using Rover and Kieran made the experience super easy and was very patient with Cleo to ensure she was able to fully utilize her potty break & get her steps in :)”

“Alissa is an amazing dog walker. We deeply appreciate how reliable and consistent she is, and how well she manages our dog with reactivity. She always comes on time and has been mindful of the summer heat when going on walks. Alissa has been an absolute asset to our family and we are wicked lucky to have her!!”

“Grace was wonderful! Very professional and caring. She took care of my Husky over the weekend which is no small task with such a high energy pup and she did better than I could have hoped for. I will definitely be using her again in the future and you should too.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs, both larger and active like my lab and smaller dogs like my chihuahua mix. I’ve dog watched before, usually two dogs at a time. I’ve had to give oral medication while pet sitting as well. I have classes from Monday through Thursday until 2pm. I can always do a walk or drop-in on those days, but I’d only be available for overnights Thursday-Saturday. I usually care with a respect to what the dog needs. Some dogs need to play, get on a lot of walks, get their energy out. Others need a companion while there family is gone and just need some cuddles. Some are a mixture of both. I make sure to respect what the client requests, the dog’s basic needs, and the dog personality for care.
“Rachel was a huge help when I was out of town for the weekend, walking and feeding my girl who has some behavioral issues. She was communicative, kind, and most of all - great with my pup! Thanks for everything and will definitely book again!”

“Emma is amazing. Great at communication, trustworthy and absolutely amazing with my dog. He is always looking forward to his walks with Emma and will for sure miss her!”

I’m so happy we found Jeremy to care for our dog! He is attentive and very communicative. I also loved that he thinks ahead of time. For example knowing it would rain he asked us to leave a towel to dry Jackson knowing he would get wet. We’ll definitely ask for his services again!

Ginger is a wonderful dog walker. She is on time, she is very discrete, my dog returns happy and relaxed and I'm very pleased with her kind and helpful personality. I highly recommend. No hesitation. Thank you Ginger, I'll definitely will reach out to you again!

Luis is kind, thoughtful and very patient. It’s no surprise to say that he’s good with dogs, but of our two that he worked with, one is reactive and anxious. Luis did not let that bother him. He was confident and let her approach him at her pace. Never once did he rush their meeting. He clearly understands dogs, and treated our two like individuals, which was really important because they are so different. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
