“Jenica is a fantastic dog caretaker! She took our German Shepherd Justin for a nice 60-minute walk today while we were out of town. She was completely professional with strong communication, provided timely updates and even stopped by earlier in the week for a meet and greet. I highly recommend leaving your dog in such good hands!”

“Owen has been great! I can tell our pup looks forward to seeing him. He provides feedback on the walk and even helps reinforce the training habits we’ve been working on implementing with our dog. It’s fun to see the photo updates from the walk he provides. 5 stars.”

About: Feel free to request me outside of my availability. Will say yes if I can! Love dogs and going on walks during the day to get out of the office. Good to walk around the city or go to a local park and play ball. Experience with dogs since childhood and has owned dog. Owner of a puppy until senior death. I am currently working Monday - Friday full time along with another part time job. Looking to get out of the office and be a part of a dogs life again without owning one (my apt doesn’t allow them). Cannot keep pets in my apartment. More than happy to go to your home. Please leave notes for best/preferred care for animal if needed :)
About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life. From medium sized dogs to small dogs. All dogs I’ve ever had and been around have always been drawn to me. I’m currently working full time and work from home during Mondays, Fridays being able to have my own schedule. I am also free on weekends. I will follow your instructions on how to care for your dog and will be respectful of your space when coming in and out to let out or dog and walk them.
“Cassidy was wonderful. She was extremely responsive and flexible with timing. She took our pup, Olive, on a fantastic walk and got to see the sights. Olive came back happy and tired. We definitely recommend her and would work with her again.”

About: I grew up with dogs that loved to play. I am a full believer in positive reward style training and bonding to create trust (crate training, potty training, etc). In the world of pet-sitting, some dogs need specialized attention to details and extra care/protection compared to their counterparts, but they can be just as loving and empathetic. My wife and I will make sure they're in an environment where they feel safe and nurtured while living their best life! Priority is for everyone to feel happy, comfortable, and safe. My wife and I alternate working remote from home to working in office, so we will coordinate one of us to be looking after your dog at our home while we work during the day. If preferable, we can also look after your dog in your home/housesit depending on location. We have a small shared fenced condo yard as well as easy walking distance to the local dog park near L Street Beach, and Joe Moakley park. My wife and I enjoy leisurely walks along Carson to M-street beach as well as to Castle Island. We will enjoy walking your dog as we love fresh air and the beach!

“Madison was fantastic. She extremely communicative and really helped make sure our dogs were taken care of while we were on vacation. It was our first time leaving one of them and they had an accident the first day - Madison cleaned it up and took care of it in a way that only a dog lover can. Talk about the extra mile!”

“My 11 year old blind, toothless and admittedly neurotic minpin has very strong “YOU’RE NOT MY MOM” energy. He has failed two dog walkers before Dave, seeing as they couldn’t even get him out of the house because he kept trying to nip their fingers with the few teeth he has left. After reading Dave’s reviews I decided to give it one more shot. Dave blew my mind when he sent me photos of Big Bear out and about, riding shot gun in the car, traipsing around the dog park. My beloved pain in the butt little dog won’t even let some of my FAMILY members take him out, more so since he’s gone completely blind. AMAZING. Highly recommend!”

About: Saying goodbye to my 15-year-old rescue last year was a true heartbreak, but it helped me realize that spending time with furry friends is healing. As many people say, “Grief is love with no place to go.” I’m looking for some dogs and cats to channel that love towards. I grew up around animals and started pet-sitting/dog walking in middle school, so I’m comfortable with all walks of animal life. As I’ve done with previous clients, I’ll love and care for your pet as my own❤️ I’m available for morning/mid-morning walks before 10:30am on Tuesdays and before 12pm on Thursdays. I’m super flexible on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, so please don’t hesitate to reach out! We will make it work! Your furry friend would be getting all my love and attention while we are together! I do not have any pets, so yours would be my sole focus.

“Kate was so awesome with our dog. She asked great questions, communicated throughout the day, and was very flexible with her schedule. Couldn’t ask for someone better to watch our dog.”

“Catherine was excellent when sitting my dogs. They can be high maintenance. One has health issues and requires special care and meds. She was great with all that, and very responsive.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - South Boston
Lauren (Ashley) did an amazing job taking care of our fur babies while we were away for the weekend! She exercised them thoroughly, made sure they ate and pottied, cuddled them and was very mindful of their anxiety with Fourth of July fireworks, and kept us updated the whole time.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
