About: A recent BU grad in Biomedical Engineering. I’m an experienced pet owner with my own orange cat at home, who struggles with asthma. I have owned a multitude of species and breeds and have experience with senior animals and their conditions. I have experience and am comfortable dosing and administering insulin to both dogs and cats, as well as caring for visually impaired animals. I am currently looking for part-time work, so I have and will continue to have lots of time to walk and play with your animals. My own animals function best on a routine, so I will be happy to try my hardest to stick to your own pets. I understand that pets are important members of the family, and I treat my own as such, and will treat yours as well. The most important thing is keeping everyone safe, which means careful consideration for how we interact, on their terms. I have experience with medical conditions and am comfortable administering any needed medications, as well as know warning signs that an animal may be stressed. As we know, Boston can be warm, supplying water for walks and outside time is a necessity.

“We are privileged and grateful that we booked Kira to take care of our two cats! She was very communicative while we were away for several days, and Kira was attentive to the individual behaviors of each of our sweet girls :) Her photos of our cats made us feel like we were right at home with them and that they were both safe in loving hands. We look forward to booking with Kira againas our first option, as long as she is available! Thanks again ☺️”

About: I'm a life-long dog lover who doesn't have the schedule for a dog full time. Bad news for me, good for you because I have SO much love to give during my free time that your pup will be treated like royalty. I am an educated professional with sound judgement who understands that dogs miss their pack mates when they are away. I will do everything I can to make your dog comfy until that tail-wagging moment when you get back. I will also send you regular updates to show you how much fun your pup is having. I work full time but can give a long walk before and after work. On the weekends, I can go for regular potty walks plus a longer adventure walk. I live in Cambridgeport which has parks full of new smells every few blocks. I am a regular four-legged companion sitter for friends (they know who gives the best snuggles) and lived with dogs through much of my childhood. My condo is on one floor with a half-flight of stairs to the outside.
“Cori is incredible! She did such an amazing job with my cat Suki. She was very thoughtful and responsive, and she took the best pictures of Suki. I was so anxious to leave Suki for the first time, but Cori helped ease that anxiety. And Suki loooves her! I will definitely be a returning customer and will recommend Cori to my friends with pets :). Thank you Cori!”

“Julie is super great! Even though I asked her to watch Ellie with short notice, she still took the time to let Ellie get to know her so she was comfortable! Great pictures and detailed messages about their time together!”

“Emma was attentive with our two playful kittens! She followed feeding instructions to the letter, played with and petted them, and overall preserved our peace of mind. She showed up precisely on time for daily drop ins and provided detailed report cards. Would highly recommend her as a cat sitter!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Allston
Hannah took great care of Noori and sent me pictures which made my day as I did miss him while gone. Hannah was consistent, very communicative and professional. My cat takes a long time to warm up to anyone but with Hannah he didn’t take too long. The whole thing experience was smooth and seamless. I definitely recommend her and will definitely be booking her again for Noori.

As usual Julie was the absolute best! If you need someone to look after your babies don’t hesitate to book with her. She’s detailed, kind, compassionate, and we wouldn’t go with anyone else for our shy sensitive cat. Thank you for another amazing experience!

Emma was amazing! She took such great care of my cat and made me feel so much better about being away. She sent daily updates and photos, was always quick to respond, and it was so obvious my cat loved her (every picture was of them cuddling on the couch together). I've already booked Emma again for my next trip and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a cat sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Allston. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
