“Andy did a great job watching our cats while we were away. We got timely updates and he communicated very clearly with us. Would definitely recommend!”

“Zilalai was a great sitter for our cat Moogle! She was prompt in her visits and sent photos/notes every day. She was also happy to arrange and meet and greet beforehand to let us and our cat get comfortable with her first. We came home after a week to a happy and healthy cat. Thanks Zilalai!”

“Took great care of my ferrets!!! I got sent lots of photos and the kids were clearly hopping around having a great time. Will definitely rebook in the future if needed :)”

“Sarah is amazing! We've booked her twice and both times have come home to a happy and healthy kitty. Our cat absolutely loves her, and we feel so secure knowing she is taking care of him while we are away.”

“Adelle is always great! She’s sat our kitties 2 years in a row around the holidays and always gives great updates. Our kitties are always well cared for when we get home!!”

“Stitches’ tail doesn’t wiggle for just anybody—but with Julia, it never stops! He can instantly sense her great energy, and it’s clear how comfortable and happy he feels around her. She’s so patient, caring, and attentive with him, and even in just 30 minutes, she makes such a positive difference in his day. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands. Julia is truly amazing with him, and I couldn’t ask for a better dog walker and sitter! 🐾”

About: I’ve been watching neighbors and friends pets for as long as I can remember! Anytime a furry friend needed a companion I was the one to call. I work full time but am only in office Tuesday and Wednesday. I will gladly stop in anytime after 6 pm on those days otherwise I WFH Monday Thursday and Friday and can stop in three times a day then! I will be glad to walk your dog or just come check on them in your home! I can crate them or do whatever you would feel best about!

“Annette was great! She arrived on time and kindly followed our request to take each of our dogs out separately for their walks. Looking forward to booking her again.”

“Sydney was wonderful to work with. The cats took to her easily, she communicated well and accomplished everything we needed from her. Because of her care we were able to fully enjoy our trip. Thanks again!”

“Maegan was absolutely amazing with our pup! She sent incredible pictures, gave us great reports, and took wonderful care of her! We are so lucky we found her. We would recommend her to anyone.”

“Bobbi was an amazing sitter for our dog, Callie! We loved getting all the updates and pictures while we were gone and truly appreciate the love and care that Bobbi gave to her. We ended up crossing paths with Bobbi when we got home on the last night, and we could just see how much Callie already loved her! Bobbi is extremely friendly and will spend a lot of time making sure your dog isn't restless and that your dog feels lots of love! We will definitely book Bobbi again in the future. If you're looking for a Rover that will treat your dog better than even you while you are gone, don't hesitate to book Bobbi!”

About: I am coming back to pet sitting on Rover part time after moving to Boston! For several years, I have taken care of both dogs and cats for family and friends. I will take the time to make sure your pet is well-fed, watered, and entertained. I will feed your pet, take dogs outside for bathroom breaks/walks, and keep the pet areas clean and tidy! I work remote on Tuesdays and Fridays, which means I can work remotely from your home to stay with your pet all day on those days if needed! I am also available for drop ins on Tuesdays, Thursday evenings, Fridays, and weekends. I grew up with two cats! I fed them, cleaned the litter box, and trimmed their nails. I am comfortable taking care of more than one cat at a time. I am experienced looking after younger dogs as well as senior dogs.

About: I am a recent college grad spending some time on my own, but greatly missing my pets! I have experience with all kinds of animals including medically complex pets, seniors, puppies, doodles and other hairy friends, and more! I am a part time intern working about 20 hours per week looking for some friends to fill my downtime. I can look after your animals any time of day with this flexibility. Good for weekdays and weekends! I follow a strict schedule with animals. Feeding routines, walks, treats, and training are all scheduled and followed to a T in my household. This makes it easy for me to apply these in other households.
“Shilpa was very communicative and flexible about our arrangement, and took good care of our pup! He is a bit anxious around new people but I could tell that she was patient and calm with him, so I know that he will warm up very quickly to her. I already booked Shilpa to come back again!”

“Lavendar was available on short notice and did a wonderful job taking care of my cats. She was great about keeping me informed which I'm very thankful for! Would definitely book again!”

“Cori was a delight to work with. She was communicative and I felt totally comfortable trusting her to take great care of my cat. So glad he had her to keep him company this week!”

“Anna did a great job at caring for my cat. She followed all the instructions I gave her, gave me daily updates, and my cat warmed up to her super quickly. I would definitely book with her again the next time I have to go away!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Brighton
Maegan has been a wonderful cat sitter, and exceeds my expectations every time she’s taken care of my cat! She watered our plants and garden, took care of the mail, but what was so thoughtful was when she made an extra unscheduled visit to make sure my cat was feeling ok (he hadn’t pooped in a couple days…). I continue to be very impressed and satisfied with her level of care. I cannot recommend Maegan enough!

We came back to a happy happy kitty! She clearly had a great time with Ilgin while we were away. Our cat needs twice daily oral meds and Ilgin was amazing with that aspect of the visits. She gave her so many treats and sent adorable photos back to us!! Not a single complaint!

Jordan stepped in last minute for a weekend we needed care. One of our cats was not as warm to Jordan during our meet and greet but by the end of 4 visits he was doing much better, which made us feel great so it our choice to go with Jordan. She followed instructions and our 2 cats seemed to enjoy their visits with her!

lindy is the BEST. she’s extremely thorough and thoughtful in her care. great communication and questions, offering to do things like water the plants when i didn’t even ask! i felt so comforted knowing she was taking care of our 3 kitties. highly recommend her. thank you again lindy!

We just recently completed a 2+ week vacation, the longest we have left our cats at home. It is such a relief to know that Nick is taking such good care of them! We enjoyed his notes and photos after each visit. The cats obviously felt so comfortable with Nick that they treated him like family!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brighton. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
