“Julie provides a truly special experience for the pets she cares for. My two special needs cats get playtime, cuddles and everything else they would need two feel comfortable while I'm away. She also goes above and beyond to care for my home. Thanks Julie!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was a kid and have always loved watching and walking my friends’ and family’s pets. I have significant volunteer experience at animal shelters and with service dogs in training and have been a sitter for my friends’ pets for my entire adult life. I am very flexible for July and August, with some occasional travel and conflicts of my own built in. I am happy to work out a time for you and your pets! I have experience caring for pets in others’ homes and ensure that instructions are all meticulously followed and to spend time meeting the needs of every animal I see.

“Molly did a great job taking care of my girls! She was very thorough and had great communication. I came back to a clean apartment and happy cats :) 10/10 would recommend!”

“Nick was such a pleasure! He was timely with his check-in visits for our two dogs and provided great updates each time. Definitely planning to work with him again!”

“Neil and Yvette were fantastic. They were very understanding and accommodating when I had to leave on short notice. They cared for my cat well and followed all instructions.”

“Morgan and Meaghan were fantastic. They took really good care of our three kitties and completely put my anxieties about leaving them to rest. Lots of pictures and good updates. They allowed me to better enjoy my trip! Thank you SO much. I will be hopefully using their services again in the future!”

“Liza truly went above and beyond to give the best care for our cat and to keep us updated every visit on how our cat was doing. With our cat recently getting diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, we knew we were in good hands as Liza has experience administering these thyroid medications. She also helped us manage the heat in our apartment during an extreme heat wave, and that meant everything to us. She is flexible, reliable, and really cares about making sure every pet is happy. We will be rebooking her every time!”

“Julia is literally the best!!! She looked after my cat over the summer and was so thoughtful! She bought him treats and toys and was such a great help! Will definitely book her again🥰🥰”

“taylor was absolutely amazing with our dog Simon! he’s a puppy who is nervous about new people, and she navigated him perfectly. as an added bonus, she made friends with our cat! i would recommend taylor, and would book her whenever we need a dog or cat sitter in the future!”

“Anastasia was so great with our young puppy. We were a little anxious about leaving her for the first time, but this was an excellent experience. Definitely booking again!”

“Was incredibly attuned to my lil anxious Winston, provided consistent helpful feedback & was just overall a perfect pet sitter for my baby boy! I was nervous using rover for the first time, and Rachel exceeded my expectations & went above and beyond. Will be working with her again!”

“Emily was amazing. She took great care of our dogs and was very understanding and accommodating when unforeseen circumstances led us to booking at the last minute. Will definitely use again in the future and recommend her!”

“Mirabel is the VIP! She did an incredible job with my fearful cat while I was out of town for a week in the middle of invasive renovations to our apartment. Knowing she was looking after him gave me so much peace of mind. Highly recommend!”

“Nathan was wonderful and gentle with our senior dog. He was very communicative and attuned to Buddy's needs in what ended up being the final days of his life. We were very glad it was Nathan he got to receive attention from and spend some time during this sensitive time, and knowing he was in such good hands relieved a lot of stress!”

“Gabriel was wonderful with my pups! He was very communicative and flexible with my whacky schedule, and he took the time to come over in advance to meet them first and introduce himself so they wouldn’t be meeting a strange for the first time during their drop in. I can’t recommend him highly enough!”

About: Outside of family pets growing up, I have experience raising, training, and caring for a golden doodle puppy at 23. I was also the partial caretaker for a rescue dog from 2016-2018. Since then I’ve taken care of roommates dogs, and have built a repertoire as a dependable pet sitter amongst friends. I love long walks and outdoor fun, but am just as happy being a couch potato pal. I am currently a full-time graduate student with this summer off, so i am generally available all weekdays and weekends. I occasionally will be unavailable due to travel, but no more than 2-5 days at a time. In my spare time i enjoy playing rec league volleyball, currently just once a week for a few hours. I believe in maintaining a calm and comfortable environment for your pets, especially if it is a first time interaction. Giving them time to warm up to a new person also allows me time to understand their temperament and what to avoid when caring for them. Pets understand their schedule and have habits and I’ll do my best to meet them where they’re most comfortable.
“Lianne has taken care of my cat multiple times and she has been wonderful each time, taking care of the basics as well as playtime. From the pictures, it is clear that my cat looks forward to Lianne's visits and I would recommend her to anyone in need of care for their pet.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Brookline
Liza was wonderful with my two cats. She was easy to work with and accommodating about minor scheduling changes (time to meet, request for an extra visit, etc.). She was attentive to detail and asked important follow-up questions to be sure she could take good care of my cats. Most importantly, she showed up when she said she would, won over both cats, and paid plenty of attention to them and gave me important updates. I can’t wait to book her again!

Most reliable, genuinely caring and competent cat sitter I have worked with in years! Can’t even imagine what I would do if we had to move and Leo was not around to look after my kitty when I am away. I have already written several reviews for Leo, but wanted to add another shoutout!

Nicole was an amazing pet sitter and extremely reliable throughout the three days she cared for my cats. She always arrived at the agreed time, stayed for the full 30-minute visit, and was very attentive to every detail. She carefully fed them and made sure their automatic litter box, water fountain, and feeder were all working properly. She also sent me plenty of pictures and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind and allowed me to enjoy my trip knowing my cats were safe and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Nicole and would be very happy to book with her again!

Kira was an amazing cat sitter. While taking care of my cats for a week, she provided detailed updates and multiple pictures each visit. She also left everything clean and tidy. She is a very sweet, dependable, caring person who I highly recommend! Thank you for everything Kira!!

Jose provided incredible, consistent care for our sweet senior cat. He checked in on her daily for 3 weeks while we were away, paid extra attention to her cleanliness and nourishment, and provided reassuring updates and photos. We couldn’t be more grateful! Will book him again anytime :)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brookline. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
