About: I grew up in a household where there were always other animals around. At a time, I’ve had a maximum of 4 pets in my home, 2 at minimum. I grew up taking care of my sick-prone Chihuahua who I cared for until she was 16 years old. I am familiar with senior pets (both cats and dogs) and can administer basic sickness medication. I am an avid animal lover and would love to spend some time with your pet!!! I am a recent college graduate! I work remotely and my schedule is extremely flexible. While I can not offer care in my home for your pet(s) due to my housing, I have the flexibility to check-in for long and short periods of time, house sit, take animals on walk, administer basic medication, just love and cuddle on them—you name it. I am happy to work around your animal’s schedule and figure out what works best for you and them! In caring for your pet, my top priority is ensuring that your animal feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, and that you feel safe and comfortable with my service! Your pet’s safety is my number one concern: I will take the time to learn your pet’s specific needs and ensure that their home is secure. I believe trust is the foundation of a great pet-sitting experience, so I will clearly communicate with you regarding your pet with regular updates and following your instructions! I am familiar with most safety systems, fences, gates, codes, etc… I myself am an anxious pet mom, so I am happy to meet you where you are at in regards to communication about your pet.

About: A recent BU grad in Biomedical Engineering. I’m an experienced pet owner with my own orange cat at home, who struggles with asthma. I have owned a multitude of species and breeds and have experience with senior animals and their conditions. I have experience and am comfortable dosing and administering insulin to both dogs and cats, as well as caring for visually impaired animals. I am currently looking for part-time work, so I have and will continue to have lots of time to walk and play with your animals. My own animals function best on a routine, so I will be happy to try my hardest to stick to your own pets. I understand that pets are important members of the family, and I treat my own as such, and will treat yours as well. The most important thing is keeping everyone safe, which means careful consideration for how we interact, on their terms. I have experience with medical conditions and am comfortable administering any needed medications, as well as know warning signs that an animal may be stressed. As we know, Boston can be warm, supplying water for walks and outside time is a necessity.
“Olivia took great care of our dog during drop-in visits for two weeks while our schedules were hectic. She provided lots of updates and was proactive and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend her services and look forward to working with her again!”

About: I have grown up around animals both big and small. I have had to take care of both a three legged elderly dog and, more recently, a rescue kitten! I have a lot of experience with larger dogs and puppies/kittens, even some rodents and reptiles. I’m currently just home from college for the summer and have a very flexible and available schedule. I already have a simple routine down for my own pets and would find little to no trouble working around them. I hops to make the time spent away from their owners as comfortable and easy as possible for the pets under my watch. Sticking to their typical routine and learning the pet is most important to me when sitting.

About: I lived my life for my beautiful Siberian Husky for 13 years. I have years worth of experience with pup walks, runs, hikes, dog parks, etc. I would love to do the same for your dog, even if it's just watching or going for a walk around the city! From my own experience, I know it's important to have a reliable person to watch your dog while you are at work, so I am happy to help. Please message me and feel free to ask any questions along with information regarding your pup. Let’s explore Boston 🐾 I have a flexible work schedule, especially in the summer. I’m a nutritionist and soccer coach. I love being outside and dog walking, fits into my routine. When going to a clients homes, I’m super particular about making sure doors and fences are closed. As a husky owner (aka escape artists) I know how important it is to trust that whoever is watching your pup keeps a close eye on them! Leashes are carefully secured before walking. Temperature and weather is accounted for.
“Isabel did a wonderful job looking after my cat while I was away for a week. She was very responsive and a clear communicator from the meet-and-greet all the way through the last house visit. I felt very comfortable having Isabel drop in and care for my cat and hope to see her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was a kid and have always loved watching and walking my friends’ and family’s pets. I have significant volunteer experience at animal shelters and with service dogs in training and have been a sitter for my friends’ pets for my entire adult life. I am very flexible for July and August, with some occasional travel and conflicts of my own built in. I am happy to work out a time for you and your pets! I have experience caring for pets in others’ homes and ensure that instructions are all meticulously followed and to spend time meeting the needs of every animal I see.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Brookline
Hannah took great care of Noori and sent me pictures which made my day as I did miss him while gone. Hannah was consistent, very communicative and professional. My cat takes a long time to warm up to anyone but with Hannah he didn’t take too long. The whole thing experience was smooth and seamless. I definitely recommend her and will definitely be booking her again for Noori.

As usual Julie was the absolute best! If you need someone to look after your babies don’t hesitate to book with her. She’s detailed, kind, compassionate, and we wouldn’t go with anyone else for our shy sensitive cat. Thank you for another amazing experience!

Zhao is an incredible pet sitter for my two cats! I have now booked with her multiple times and I’m always impressed by how much she cares about ensuring they have a great time while I’m away. I don’t have to worry about anything as she documents all of her care for the cats including extensive playtime and I can tell that they look forward to her visits. I would highly recommend booking with her for any pet care needs.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brookline. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
