“James was an excellent caregiver for my cat. He came over early to see the house and meet Finbar, sent nice updates and pictures. I would be happy to use his services again.”

“Margaret cared for our two cats over the holidays when we went on short trip. She was very professional and we knew our cats were in good hands with her. I'd recommend Margaret and we'd hire her again for future care for our fur babies.”

“Ashley was friendly, communicative, and on time. I came home to happy and relaxed cats. From Ashley’s pics, it looked like my cats had a good time!”

“Mengyao stepped in last minute when our sitter canceled during Christmas. She was incredibly responsive and communicative. She sent lots of great pictures, videos, and updates during her visits. Our pets loved her and were very well cared for. We can’t recommend Mengyao enough! We are looking forward to having her watch our babies again.”
“We have an older, high maintenance crew and Erika was good about paying attention to all their needs (and our peculiarities for caring for them) while taking care of them. The oldest is deep into her teens: frail, blind, and a picky eater. The youngest is fine, fat, and always wants to eat. Erika made sure everyone ate the right amount. She also tackled pilling two of them, one of whom is NOT an easy kitty to medicate.”

About: My mom is a dog trainer, so I grew up around dogs (and cats and other beings) and learned from her training. Not just how to work with them, but how to build their trust. Just like with humans, care is built on relationship. I'll always take the time to get to know your pet and am a gentle, steady presence. For the past four years, I was so lucky to have an incredible service dog by my side. Sully, a Labrador retriever, was with me 24/7 and we both learned a lot about how to communicate with one another. Sully passed away from kidney disease and cancer this past December, and I miss him tremendously. I'd like to honor his memory by being there for other animal families when they need it. Throughout his illness, I became proficient at giving pills, doing subcutaneous fluids, and adapting our playing to what Sully was up for. Families can count on me to take good care of animals who need extra help. I'm in graduate school Monday-Thursdays, but can offer care first thing in the morning and after 5 pm on weekdays. Most weeks, I can be available throughout Friday-Sunday When caring for pets in their homes, I start by asking their humans to describe their daily routines, what causes the animal stress or delight, and how they'd like their homes to be used. I'll leave things just as I found them. My apartment is small, but we have a big fenced yard. I've got plenty of toys, comfy beds for dogs and cats, water bowls, and treats at home, but I encourage folks to bring over anything that will help their pet feel at home in my place.
“Ann Marie was so great! It was clear on meeting her that she loves to take care of animals, and our cats were happy and healthy when we got home from vacation!”
“Lia took great care of our cat while we were on vacation for 10 days. She made sure he had plenty of food and water, administered his eye drop, and gave him a little quality time. She was also incredibly responsive and handled our alarm system and keypad entry with no problems. Thank you so much!”

“Avery did a fantastic job watching our sweet kitty while we were out of town! She sent us many pictures during her visits and it was clear that our kitty loved her, which put us totally at ease that he was taken care of while we were away. I could not recommend her enough, and will absolutely be rebooking her next time. Thank you Avery!!”

I typically work 3 days a week so I have many days off!I am open to staying in house to care for the dog! I love walking dogs and helping with house training and play. I grew up with an adorable yellow lab and have helped many families in town with their pets as well. I absolutely love pets (cats and dogs), I love the outdoors and would be more than happy to take pets on several walks throughout the day! I am very trustworthy, responsible and reliable. I will always be on time and energetic to spend some time with your pet! I am currently on a leave from work and have lots of free time to spend caring for your pets! I am available for drop in visits as well as longer periods of time! I make sure to always keep dogs on a leash while out and about. Prior to sitting I make sure I have a good understanding of the animal.

“I'm very thankful for Wanda because I was away overseas and my previous sitter had to cancel.. this was not a situation any pet parent should ever be put through and I was able to get ahold of Wanda who came to the rescue even without me being there to show her the procedure for taking care of my 2 cats. (Granted, I had a Youtube video giving an overview of the process and I gave her the codes to my lockbox and my home alarm which all went smoothly.)”

“Carmen was extremely patient with my senior cat. She was quick to reach out when he developed something with one eye. It didn't require immediate care, but I appreciated knowing about it. I received pictures daily that really helped me know how he was doing. I definitely recommend Carmen to care for your pet(s).”
“Alyson was so wonderful! She took such good care of our baby boy while we were away for the week - always playing with him and sending us photo and video updates. She's very reliable and trustworthy and I would definitely recommend her if you need someone to board your cat!”

“Yanira took amazing care of Ruthie! She can be shy with new people but came out for Yanira, great to get the daily photos! I would absolutely book with her again!”

West Roxbury cat parents share their Rover experiences
Lucy was very receptive to what my cat needed. She came for 1 visit while I was out of state. She provided a meal, checked water, checked my cats litter, and sent a few photos. I also got a few screen shots from my apartments camera and saw that Lucy even brushed Zelish and played with her which was really nice. I felt happy knowing my cat was well taken care of.

This was the second time I booked with Michelle to take care of my car when I was out of town. Again, she did a wonderful job. I came home to a well cared for cat and she kept me updated after each visit. She was also flexible when my travel plans changed. Highly recommend.

Mengyao stepped in last minute when our sitter canceled during Christmas. She was incredibly responsive and communicative. She sent lots of great pictures, videos, and updates during her visits. Our pets loved her and were very well cared for. We can’t recommend Mengyao enough! We are looking forward to having her watch our babies again.
Debra was wonderful with our kittys. She played with them daily, gave quick updates, and took incredible photos. She made an effort to spend time with each of them, too. Two of our three cats are social little beings, and the third is a bit sassy and nonchalant. Debra was able to get him to trust and respond to her, allowing her to give him pets and he ate in front of her! That’s a big deal in our home. We recommend her and will absolutely hire her again.
