Oscar was always very communicative and always responded to all of my messages within minutes - he was also very generous in being flexible with the dog sitting schedule (as I was concerned I might not make it back from traveling due to a recent blizzard), which helped reduce any stress I might have felt if I didn’t pick him up when I originally said I would. About: I've been caring and taking care of many different furry friends over last 4 years. They vary from energetic cavalier, less than a year old, to a 12 year old pekinies with lot of medications. Every lovely souls are welcomed at our house! Let's have fun! I am a freelance designer who work remotely. My working hour is less than 3 hours each day at my desk, I always feel loved and peaceful with pet friends near me ! We do have decently spaced, semi- fenced yard right outside our door. About: I am a 21 year old college student home for the summer. I helped care for my beloved childhood dog for 13 years before he passed last year. Our house is empty now and I would love to care for your dog! I also have a year of experience volunteering at a dog shelter where I fed, walked, bathed, and helped socialize the dogs. About: I have had a dog since I was in diapers! I’ve also trained all my dogs on my own and have very well-behaved dogs. I am truly a dog lover and will take care of your dogs as if they’re my own! I am available most weekends, all day. I cannot do during the week for the most part as I have a full-time job, but there is some flexibility with holidays and such. About: I have been around dogs all of my life. Growing up in the Hudson Valley, we had two dogs: an American Pit Bull Terrier and an APBT Staffie mix. They were the most athletic and lovey dogs! They completed a five mile hike that has a fairly long and vertical scramble section at 14 years old! In their senior years, they had medical issues so I am experienced with med management and adopting activities to their capabilities. Currently, my fiance and I have a half APBT, half Siberian Husky dog. He is the best! We adopted him from a family that kept him in his crate for so long that he bit off a large portion of the hair on his tail. He was reactive in the beginning, lunging at cars on the road and barking and lunging at dogs on walks. I used Spirit Dog Training’s reactivity course and my education in behavioral psychology and research to fix these issues. He no longer does either things and his hair has grown back in spades! We keep him busy by training him (tricks) and mentally stimulated with sniff walks and games like find it, as well as off leash time, hikes, runs, etc. We love hiking with Oto: he recently completed numerous hikes in Acadia National Park and has done Camel’s Hump in VT and Mt. Osceola in NH: he plans on completing the NH 48! In general, I love being outside and active: hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, running, kayaking, rock climbing and going to the gym. I love all dogs, but have a particular drive to keep working dogs happy and healthy! German Shepherds, Border Collies, Huskies, Cattle Dogs, Anatolian Shepherds: it is amazing what they can do and how they have served our communities in numerous roles for decades. I have spent a lot of time with my sister’s German Shepherd and half GSD half Anatolian dogs. I also volunteered at a therapeutic horseback riding center and rode horseback for several years; I find being around horses to be great training for how to interact with, and train, dogs. They are so big that they don’t HAVE to listen to you. Maintaining confidence (even if you don’t feel like it) and a steady hand go a long way, as well as keeping aware of their body language and behaviors. They are very sensitive creatures. In the Fall of 2026, I am resuming my graduate program in clinical social work and have indicated my availability in the details section. However, those times and days don't apply during winter and summer breaks (open availability then). Please share your dog's behaviors and needs with me before scheduling walks. If your dog is reactive (barks at dogs on walks or lunges) please let me know and I can adjust the walking route and make sure to give other dogs plenty of space. Let me know what their usual distance on walks is, as I can try to adjust my pace accordingly. I have a lot of experience with this (decades). If you have treats for your dog, I can take them out with me if needed.

I’m a photographer (yes I can photograph your dog!!) and am flexible with my time management. Weekdays when work is in the way can be tough but I can help! I have experience crating dogs, long walks, special food necessities and lots love! I enjoy giving extra play time and attention or a comfortable lap to nap on!

“We have a Berner that is almost 3 years old and she has been staying with Kira and her family since she was a puppy. I can't give anything but the highest rating for Kira and her family. It is always hard leaving a beloved pet with someone else, but we never worry with Kira. Winnie has a great big back yard to play in with other dogs and the personal attention she receives to be part of the family is second to none. Daily updates with photos of how well our pup is doing puts our mind at ease while we are away. We always know that Winnie is being treated as part of the family and gets tons of attention and play time. Logistically, Kira is always flexible and amenable with drop offs and pick ups and their home and space for the dogs is set up wonderfully. Our dog has more room to roam and play than she does at her own home! We have been repeat customers with Kira multiple times over and will continue to plan to be for years to come!”
