“Mehlani and her husband took wonderful care of my dog, TBD, for almost two weeks while I was on vacation. From the beginning, Mehlani was very flexible and accommodating. We met beforehand, and I could immediately tell that she was warm and caring and that TBD would be in great hands. While I was away, she sent regular updates and photos of their activities. When my husband’s flight was delayed and he couldn’t pick TBD up as planned, Mehlani graciously adjusted the pickup time. I was able to fully relax during my vacation knowing that TBD was so well cared for. I will definitely contact Mehlani again the next time we travel!”

“Indra was absolutely incredible with Penny! I could tell from the beginning that she was in great hands, and all the photo updates confirmed it too. He was very communicative and attentive to making sure Penny’s typical routine was kept. Thank you, Indra (and thank you to your lovely gf too)!!”

“Jason was amazing. He took such good care of our boy - good walks, play with his dog Noah outside and made sure he received a heavy dose of love and snugs.”

“Natalie is phenomenal!!! She took such great care of Teddy. Her communication was outstanding, sending pictures and texts throughout the day. Such a sweet and kind person that you will feel so comfortable leaving your dog with.”

“I haven’t used Rover in awhile as I started traveling with my pug Captain...but for a recent quick trip I decided it was worth it. I saw Ben’s profile and thought he seemed like a great fit to watch Captain. Ben and his girlfriend loved watching Captain and raved about their time with him. I could tell Captain also enjoyed himself! Ben was also very responsive and accommodated my schedule for pick up/drop off. I’d definitely use Ben as our dog sitter for our next trip!”

“Phillipa is an amazing dog sitter! The updates every day were very much appreciated and we will definitely consider her again for any future needs.”

“Julie did an amazing job taking care of our cat, Cal! He is usually shy and fearful of strangers, but she was incredibly patient with him and soon coaxed him out of his shell. Julie also did a great job of sending us a constant stream of pictures and updates. I highly recommend her!”

“Brooklyn watched our Sydney for a quick overnight. She was very kind and responsive. Very accommodating of our pup's schedule and needs. We felt very at ease knowing she was in good hands”

“Erin sent incredible photos and took great care of our dog! They had so much fun walking, playing, and eating treats that it was like a vacation for our dog too. I would absolutely rebook with her in the future.”
“Kevin was the best! Out pup was so comfortable and very well exercised (which is hard for our hyper pup!). Would highly recommend and will definitely be booking again!”

“Kayla is an amazing pet sitter! She has a warm personality and my dog James immediately connected with her! She communicated regularly with photos and videos and was flexible with adjusting time for pick-up. My husband and I highly recommend!”

“Christina was amazing! I booked last minute and she was eager to take care of Beru for the weekend. She sent lots of photo updates. Beru has some quirks and Christina was more than capable and happy to accommodate Beru’s personality. Would 100% book with her again!”

“My dog loved staying with Gina. He usually has a difficult time being separated from us, but she made him feel comfortable and secure from the very beginning. He seemed completely at home in her care, which made the transition remarkably easy for both him and our family. Gina is clearly very experienced with dogs, and she took exceptional care of Parker. We felt confident knowing he was in such capable and caring hands.”

“Our pup Cubby had a great time staying with Michaela and having a sidekick buddy for the weekend in her dog Monty! Her updates while they were hanging out at the park were so cute. She was super accommodating to us and met up with us the weekend before to meet Cubby. Thank you so much!”

“Michelle always takes excellent care of my girl, Gertie. She is responsive, provides regular updates, and is the kind of auntie every pup hopes to have. Gertie can't wait for her next sleepover there!”

“Another great 4-day visit over Thanksgiving! It’s amazing to know my dog is safe and happy with this loving family. Of course Ceila was happy to see us, but with paws on the window, she was wondering why her surrogate Dad wasn’t joining us in the car.”

Phillipa was wonderful. She was easy to communicate with throughout the entire process of booking, meet and greet, and during the stay. She sent tons of picture updates which was so appreciated. She really seemed to enjoy dogs and spending time with them. My pup was relaxed and happy during the stay.
Danielle put me and my anxious dog Josey at ease right away when we met her and her dog Moose. It is clear that Danielle loves dogs and is a skilled communicator with them. Josey enjoyed her weekend stay very much. Danielle sent updates and photos each day, and the drop off and pickup arrangements were easy. She is a great find!

Linda was just wonderful. We had a friend back out last minute watching Darla and we feel so grateful because it introduced us to her! Linda sent numerous updates and pictures throughout the weekend and it made us feel so comforted knowing she was in great hands. Darla came home so happy, in great spirits, and tuckered out from a great active weekend. We will absolutely book again! Thank you Linda!!

Jacqueline was wonderful with Mengmeng! ❤️ She took such great care of her and kept us updated throughout our trip. We could always tell from Mengmeng’s happy little face how much she enjoyed her time with Jacqueline! 🥹 We’re so grateful and would absolutely book with her again! Highly recommend! 🐶💕

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
