“Belinda was wonderful with our furbaby and sent us an update each day. She was very accessible by text and easy to communicate with. Our dog got along well with her dog, Sloane, who is a sweetie. Also, she has the perfect fenced in yard for the dogs to play! We will certainly work with Belinda again!”

“Zwany and Leandro were conscientious and kind with Serena and Bobby; they sent daily pics and/or videos which helped with my missing my pups while away, and my friends enjoyed them, too! I loved receiving the puppy report card of their stay—a personal touch from a professional duo.”

“Patrick was great with Willow, it was obvious from pictures and videos that she loved him and was well taken care of! We would happily book with him again and feel confident she’d be in good hands.”

“Matias takes such good care of our Boston Terrier Milo every time! He clearly has a love for dogs and our dog loves spending time with him! Would highly recommend!”

“Emily was great with our dog Reggie while we were away for a few days. She was quick to respond, flexible on timing, handled his medication schedule, and gave frequent updates. Would recommend her and use her again!”

“Kathryn was amazing! Extremely easy to communicate with, took the time to get to know and ask about my dog's needs and took great care of her for a weekend. I received daily updates and pictures and could tell she was well cared for. I would definitely both recommend and book with Kathryn again!”

“Ye and family were excellent with my senior dog Jake. They sent me updates every day and catered to Jake’s needs as an older pup (eating habits, meds, frequent potty breaks). Jake also met a few other pup friends on his visit. Would love to have Jake stay again in the future.”

“What an amazing experience. My first time using Rover and Haowen exceeded all expectations. Haowen's apartment was neat and clean, and has many pet friendly amenities at his complex. His communication is superb and responses are very prompt (usually within mere minutes). All throughout the stay, he kept me posted with lots of photos. My dog was definitely well taken care of. Will definitely book again.”

“Tyler was a rock star! We were up for our daughter running the Boston marathon. It was a long day and it was nice to not have to worry about Baxter. He also was able to have puppy playtime with two other guests. After a long day Tyler was there to meet us with our boy. He also sent a few pics during the day. This was our first experience with Rover and we will return.”

“We had great experience with Nalix dog sitting our 14 year old Shitzu. Nalix took great care of our dog, keeping daily communication and pictures. She even put booties on her when it snowed so she’d feel more comfortable going on walks. We highly recommend Nalix for your next vacation.”

“Nola and Damian were amazing! They took us last minute for my two young high energy pups. Communication was prompt and professional. My boys came home happy and well cared for, and I would happily book with Nola & Damian again!”

“Michiko and Cliff were great. They sent me pictures and updates every day and took great care of Henry! They were very easy to communicate with. I would definitely book with them again!”

“We couldn't have asked for better care for our dog while we were away over the holiday weekend. Krystal and William tailored their care to Benny's needs, made special treats for him, took him on plenty of walks, and sent dozens of pictures and updates throughout the weekend. It was such a relief knowing that our little guy was in good hands while we were gone. Will be booking again in the future :)”

“Shana was great with our dog Basil! She watched her just overnight but Basil definitely looks like she got plenty of walks, attention, and couch time! Will definitely keep Shana in mind for future sits!”

“Zahira is the BEST! She has watched Ollie twice now and he has had such a wonderful time. She provides updates with photos and took great care of our dog, going above and beyond in every regard. I highly recommend Zahira!”

Gustavo was absolutely perfect to watch my 9 month old puppy. He was intentional, caring, and had great communication. He took care of Remi under a last minute request and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Definitely recommend and will re-book when I can!

Mehlani and her husband took wonderful care of my dog, TBD, for almost two weeks while I was on vacation. From the beginning, Mehlani was very flexible and accommodating. We met beforehand, and I could immediately tell that she was warm and caring and that TBD would be in great hands. While I was away, she sent regular updates and photos of their activities. When my husband’s flight was delayed and he couldn’t pick TBD up as planned, Mehlani graciously adjusted the pickup time. I was able to fully relax during my vacation knowing that TBD was so well cared for. I will definitely contact Mehlani again the next time we travel!

Daria and her dog Kova was incredibly kind to my little puppy Totori Daria is really confident dog care taker and she gave lots of love and attention to Totori Also Her dog Kova, makes Totori more comfortable stay with them I always laughed when I see pictures of them playing together It is Always delighted to read Daria’s daily reports about my puppy and it also helps me a lot

I truly cannot say enough amazing things about our experience! We boarded our Maltipoo here, and from start to finish, the level of care was absolutely incredible. He means the world to us, so leaving him with someone else is never easy, but we felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such loving and attentive hands. It was so clear that he wasn’t just being “watched” — he was genuinely cared for, loved, and treated like part of the family. He received so much attention and affection, and we could tell how happy and comfortable he was. The communication was also wonderful and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. The best part was seeing how happy and relaxed he was when we picked him up. With a small dog who is very attached to his people, that says everything! It is such an incredible feeling to find someone you completely trust with your dog. We are beyond grateful for the care he received and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, loving, responsible, and genuinely passionate about dogs. We will absolutely be bringing him back. Truly a 10/10 experience! ❤️🐾

Chantel was amazing! She took great care of my cat, Tookie. She got snacks, sent several pictures, and treated him like he was her own. When I got Tookie back I could tell he was taken care of because he attitudes were better, he was well brushed, and he was happy. I can’t recommend Chantel enough, definitely hire her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
