“Betsy and her family created a welcoming environment that made it easy for our nervous dog to adjust. Betsy gave him all the care and attention he needed and was super responsive through our vacation. We will try to book again before we move.”

“Emily was great with our dog Reggie while we were away for a few days. She was quick to respond, flexible on timing, handled his medication schedule, and gave frequent updates. Would recommend her and use her again!”

“Jessica and her family were amazing! They took wonderful care of our dogs. I’m definitely using her again! We received pics daily and she is awesome with communication. Thanks again!!”

“Steven was fantastic with Guinness! My pup had a blast there. Steven cared about him like his own dog. Very responsive and knowledgeable about dogs! I will definitely be booking with him again!”

“Michelle always takes excellent care of my girl, Gertie. She is responsive, provides regular updates, and is the kind of auntie every pup hopes to have. Gertie can't wait for her next sleepover there!”

“Truly always goes above and beyond for our dog! Even got her some seasonal scarves and sent lots of cute photos. Took her to the dog park for the first time too, and really spent a lot of time with her. He and his girlfriend are the best in Boston and you can tell how much they care about dogs :)”

“Christina was amazing! I booked last minute and she was eager to take care of Beru for the weekend. She sent lots of photo updates. Beru has some quirks and Christina was more than capable and happy to accommodate Beru’s personality. Would 100% book with her again!”

“Ozzi had such a great time with Yang and her family. They welcomed him into their home and took great care of him. We received photos and videos every day to keep us updated, which was very appreciated. He will definitely go back on our next time away!”

“Nola and Damian were so great! This was our first time using Rover and we were a little hesitant about leaving Toki with someone new. However, they made us feel super comfortable and clearly took great care of her during our time away.”

“Jennifer is phenomenal!! I got so many adorable pupdates throughout the day, from how our pup was feeling, to photos of him smelling some pretty flowers (really!! it was the cutest!), to videos of him playing fetch. I love seeing that he’s having a great time, and it’s absolutely a doggie vacation when he’s at Jennifer’s. Highly highly recommend!”

“I boarded my dog for 2 weeks. Kwangwoo was very professional to work with and treated Chiffon very well. Chiffon is a picky eater, and he went out of the way to hand-feed her on her first night when she was too stressed to eat. Thanks a lot!”

“Millie had the best time with Lynne. She did not want to leave! Lynne was very communicative and sent us pictures throughout her stay. We would highly recommend!”

About: After years of working for different companies to provide care for pets, I’ve found that it’s far easier to meet the needs and wants of owners and their companions by working directly with them. I have experience caring for senior dogs and cats, as well as those called aggressive/reactive. I strive to deliver the utmost quality of care I can give. Ethical, knowledgeable care is paramount! I currently work part-time mostly during the weekends and my boss is very understanding of any flexibility I need. I much prefer to be playing with pets than my usual work! I am unfortunately unable to care for pets in my home :( I am too concerned about the stress and potential dangers it would create for my roommate’s cat ❤️🐈 I also feel it’s generally best to provide care for pets in their home environments as I feel it is what is most comfortable for them.
“Milo had an amazing week stay with Julia. He had a cat tree to play in which he adored. Julia sent wonderful pictures and was very responsive. Already booked our next stay with her!”

“Maryah did a great job taking care of Alfie. She was quick to respond to my messages and provided me updates on Alfie. When I went to pick up Alfie, I could see he was very well taken care of. Thank you, Maryah!”

“Tyler took great care of our lab while we were away and sent a couple photos a day. He came back happy and cared for! We’ll definitely book with him again.”

“Richard and his partner went above and beyond while I used his services. Very communicative and went out of his way to give my pet a great time while I was away. My dog gets anxious very easily but just by the pictures he seems so happy. I appreciate their care and will 100% be requesting their services going forward”

About: I have a 6 years old Pomeranian at home in south korea. When I’m home, as the primary caregiver, I walk, run, bathe, and comb every morning and night! I don’t have any dogs in Boston with me, but I’ve dog sat my friends’ ~25 pound dogs for several times! I’m currently a PhD student in Boston, and I usually work from home twice a week! Also, I spend most of my time at home during weekends, and our apartment has the greatest waking path for the dogs! I live in a pet-friendly apartment and a well designed park right next to it. I love playing and walking with the dogs. We don’t have any pups at home, but i have one lovely Pomeranian at my house in Korea.
“My dog and cat had a great 4 day stay with Yuting. I was glad how my sometimes shy dog was immediately comfortable in a new space with new people. And I could tell both animals were happy from the updates I received. I recommend!”

Yesika was so wonderful with my two small dogs. We planned to leave them with Yesika for four days but we had to extend the boarding one more day due to the last minute change. Yesika cancelled her plan to accommodate our sudden plan change. My two dogs, Happy and Snowy, looked great after their stay with Yesika and they seems to have really enjoyed their stay. Yesika sent us many photos of them throughout the stay so we felt good about leaving them with Yesika for one more day than planned.

Our golden retriever loves her time with Kimberlyn so much!! She’s spent many weekends with her and always comes home happy and tired from all the fun had. Kimberlyn is an excellent communicator and great about sending updates. We would absolutely book again with her!

Ben cared for our senior dog Hazel for over a week while we visited family. He was excellent and we could tell Hazel was having a blast. We get worried leaving her with sitters because of her age and being a rescue, but Ben was very sweet, caring, and asked all the right questions before we dropped her off. I‘m hoping we can have Hazel stay with him many more times while we’re in the neighborhood.

She was a wonderful sitter for my dog over three days. My dog really liked her, and she took extra care to help him feel comfortable and less anxious while I was away. She was also very flexible, accommodating, and easy to communicate with throughout the stay. I would happily book with her again and highly recommend her to other dog owners!
Metehan and Aya took great care of Fig and Pesto for over a week while we were away. We got picture and video updates regularly and they asked questions when they wanted clarification on anything. They were very accommodating and their apartment has lots of great places for the cats to hide, explore, and lounge, while being very clean. They were great hosts and very welcoming. We would recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
