About: Having my own animals as well as fostering, I'm good at helping shy animals feel safe and cared for. As a registered nurse and with experience caring for senior animals I can also help administer medications so you know your animals health is cared for while you are away. I'm currently enrolled in Master program at Boston University with mostly evening classes, so I have a lot of flexibility to meet your pets needs. I am available most days during normal business hours and have weekend avaibility as well. It can be hard on your pets while you're away. Whether it is walking your dog while you are at work or caring for your cat while you're on vacation, my goal is to keep their routine as possible. I will come out to your home and strive to feed and walk them at the same time of day as you usually do. I am particularly good at caring for senior pets, giving them the gentle calm care they need. If your pet has medicine or special care I will work with you so that you know they are getting what they need while you're gone. I take time to get to know each animal I care for and what their needs are. All along the way I will provide you with updates.
“Isabel is reliable, caring, calm, and communicative! All the qualities of an excellent pet sitter and Tako was so lucky to be in her care. I’d recommend any time!”

“Amanda took great care of my cats, was diligent about meds, and even managed to lure out my very shy cat (which usually hides whenever a stranger appears). Would definitely hire again”

About: Ive been been an avid animal lover my whole life, and spending time with animals brings me great joy. Over the years, I’ve taken care of cats and dogs of different sizes and ages. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and play with their pets. I am very detail oriented, and will follow all instructions you give me on how to take care of your pet. As a both, a pet owner and Rover user, I understand the great responsibility I am given, and the anxiety that comes for you and your pet, and I want to make sure I am able to help by being your pet's companion, as well as communicating and giving you all needed updates! I recently graduated law school, and took the bar exam in July 2026. I currently have fully open availability, and happy to work around your schedule, including any last minute bookings. I service only at client's home. Given that I have a cat home, I want to make sure your fur baby is comfortable in their own home and space, rather than introducing them to a new space with a new cat.

“This was our second time booking with Gabi and just like last time, she took such great care of our girls! She was so mindful about making them as comfortable as possible that when one of my cats was feeling a bit shy, Gabi gave her a treat to reintroduce herself. Love the thoughtful and carefulness that Gabi has when checking in on my cats. Will be my go-to sitter from now on!!”

“My cat Joey received good care during my two nights out. I had great communication with Isabel and I felt Joe received attention which is not secondary to food (Joey feels lonely when I'm away). I will definitely book again.”

“Eleanor is great! Lister needed some drop in visits and warmed up to her pretty quick. She even took him for a walk around the block and was quite intuitive about when Lister was in a mood to walk and when not. Great communication! Would definitely book again”

“Nate has been awesome with our dog, Sadie. She can be fearful, but it was very clear at the first meeting that she was comfortable with him right away. He’s very attentive and communicative - sends pictures and videos during his visit, which we love. We will be continuing to have him watch Sadie on a regular basis and occasionally day care and overnights!”

“Sean was friendly and professional and responded quickly to my messages. He showed up for check-ins when he was supposed to, provided detailed reports, and plenty of photos.”

“Thank you for watching Beanie! Definitely would recommend. Minhyung stayed longer than necessary for the drop in to give extra care and companionship to Beanie which meant so much. She provided a thorough review. I came back to a very happy pup. Looking forward to having you watch Beanie again”

“she’s amazing and after she learned I am Deaf, she finds a way to communicate with me. I truly appreciate that. my cat likes her a lot. I recommend her to pet sitting your furkids and I trust her. I definitely will have her again in the future.”

“Lorena took great care of my cat while I was away. She shared photos of him and gave me updates via his visit card. She also communicated quickly leading up to the visit. I would book Lorena again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Somerville
Nicole was our first experience with Rover. We were going on a fairly long vacation and couldn’t take our cat with us, so needless to say, we were a little nervous about leaving her behind. We booked Nicole for nine visits, and she was fantastic. She always showed up when she said she would, did everything we had asked, and sent us detailed updates after every visit. She played with our cat, groomed her when needed, replenished her water bowls, and cleaned the litter box. Nicole is an extremely reliable and dependable pet sitter—no weirdness, no drama, just someone you can trust to show up and take good care of your pet. We know pet sitting is only a temporary, part-time job for Nicole as she finishes college and prepares to move away from Boston, but the maturity, trustworthiness, reliability, and sense of responsibility she showed us will serve her well wherever her career takes her next. We are extremely grateful to Nicole for taking such good care of our cat and giving us peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely recommend her.
Katrina was great! I had a last minute scheduling change, and Katrina was very accommodating. She sent lots of pictures and notes for each visit, and based on the pictures, my cat clearly liked playing with her and felt very comfortable around her. Will absolutely book her services again in the future!

Winita is wonderful and my kitties love her so much! She is very thorough and her attention to detail is great. She keeps me updated throughout the whole booking which keeps my mind at ease. I hope to keep her as my sitter for a loooong time. She also takes great pictures and videos. Thank you!

This was our first experience with a pet sitter since moving to the United States, so I was a little nervous about leaving our house keys with someone. I was also worried because my English is not very good and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to communicate my wishes clearly. However, she was incredibly kind, caring, and clearly someone who truly loves animals. She made us feel completely comfortable and gave us great peace of mind while we were away. I would absolutely ask her to take care of our precious cats again in the future. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of them!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Somerville. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
