“Elizabeth and Rodrigo were great with Oscar. They were flexible when I needed to shift my drop-off and pickup times, which made my day so much easier. They sent a few photos throughout the day too, which I always love getting. Oscar came home tired and happy, so he clearly had a good time. Would book with them again in a heartbeat. Thanks you two!”

“This is Scout's second time at Jacqueline's for doggy daycare. She and Harley do an amazing job looking after Scout. Highly recommend her, she treats your dog as if it were her own.”

“Roman had a wonderful time! I loved the updates and the pictures throughout his stay! It definitely makes my fur mom heart a little more settled knowing the great care he is in and updates on what he’s doing during his time! Definitely came home nice and sleepy!!”

“Nate is a wonder with my pups and super accommodating to me. This was my first time using rover and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! He sent pictures, and bonded with both of my dogs who are typically skeptical of new people. They felt right at home with Nate and I couldn’t appreciate it more.”

“Milly had a great time with Rebecca! She had everything Milly needed for a great day…chews, puzzle games and a comfy couch to lie on. Rebecca was also super accommodating with drop off and pick up times! We will definitely use Rebecca in the future!”

“Anna was so patient with our dog Bobby and took amazing care of him! When we picked him up he was calm and ready for a nap - perfect! We will definitely book with Anna again.”

About: I know how much your dog means to you, and leaving them with someone new takes a lot of trust. That is why I treat every single dog in my care exactly like my own family. I have a natural intuition for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Caring for pups is a lifelong passion of mine. Right now, my own furry family includes a sweet 16-year-old Cockapoo who taught me the patience needed for senior care, and an energetic 1-year-old puppy who keeps me on my toes! Over the years, I have lived with and pet-sat everything from tiny Shih Tzus to lovable "supermutts."If your dog loves to stay active, they will fit right in. My daily routine revolves around keeping dogs happy and moving. We do regular backyard playtime, long neighborhood walks, exciting hikes, and fun trips to the dog park.Plus, raising my puppy means I am highly trained in positive obedience and puppy management techniques. Whether your dog needs gentle structure, high-energy exercise, or just a cozy spot on the couch to relax, I adapt to their unique personality. I cannot wait to meet your pup and give them a fun, safe, and loving home away from home! I work part time from home and have a very flexible schedule that can accommodate your dogs needs. They will have supervised access to the backyard when they want/need, as well as walks and rest time. I have a fenced yard, and an Australian cattle dog/husky mix who LOVES all dogs. He’s crate trained and I can easily work with crate training’s as needed!
About: I grew up with 2 Yorkies and bulldogs! I love dogs with my life. Dogs are like family to me. One of my Yorkies (they both live in my hometown) passed away recently due to her age, so I do know how to properly take care of dogs even when it comes to senior dogs or even puppies. I am always available to take care of dogs! I live with my boyfriend who works at home so he is available in case I’m not home. I go to law school so sometimes it does get busy but I’m always happy to take care of a baby (pet)! I take care of pets at my home by providing them a place for them to be able to sleep comfortably and play with their toys. I also think that talking to them calms them down and makes them more comfortable. Dogs are really smart and they do understand rules if you explain it to them!
About: ***NOTICE FOR NEW & REPEAT CLIENTS*** I will be abroad in Japan for research Sept 2026-August 2027, after which I’ll return to Boston and resume pet services. You’ll find these months blocked off on my calendar. Thank you for your support and patience. I look forward to coming back and seeing the fur babies!!! *** I’ve had dogs in the family since I was a child, and they’ve been all sizes, temperaments and with different needs. I’ve worked with multiple R+ and balanced trainers in the Boston area and actively use training techniques throughout the day to help dogs who are selective-reactive, fearful, shy and/or have separation anxiety. I’m happy to incorporate any trainings you’re working on with your pups while they’re in my care***I do not believe pet services should be financially inaccessible. If you are struggling financially and need assistance, please reach out. I am a graduate student, and spend no more than 3 hours teaching/working on campus, typically in the afternoon, but my office is only 10 minute walk away so I’m rarely gone for long. For pets who would do best with full time WFH, my schedule is flexible. The rest of the time I spend either at home or outdoors at parks or on hikes. My life truly revolves around dogs. Stay at home movie nights with lots of treats or hangouts at the dog parks—you name it! I now have a car, so my serviced area radius has increased for walking and checkin services! I do not offer boarding/stay services in the client’s home.
About: I’ve been doing drop-in visits for friends and family’s pets since I was 15. Never had a pet myself due to my parents’ allergies, so I love giving extra love and attention to other peoples’ furry friends. When I was a junior in high school I even built a local dog park for my Girl Scout Gold Award project, just to help local dogs have more fun letting out their energy. I’m happy to attend to your animals specific wants, like a snuggly or energetic pet, or one of those pets that has a little hidey hole to check in on. My work schedule is hybrid, so I can easily care for your pet while working. I’m always working from home Mondays and Fridays, and I can take on any other day of the week as well, as long as I have a few days notice. I’m happy to meet with your pet ahead of time to let them get to know me while you’re home. I’m used to building trust slowly over time with animals.
“My pup had the best time ever in the yard, chilling in the house, and befriending Betsy’s sweet dog. I even got a photo during the day. :-) Looking forward to her next stay!”

“I can’t recommend Fernanda enough! She took such amazing care of my 4-month-old puppy, and I could tell right away that he was in great hands. She was incredibly attentive, patient, and kind—not just with my pup, but with me as well. I was running late due to an accident under the tunnel, and she was so understanding and flexible, which I really appreciated. The best part? My puppy absolutely adores her! He lights up with excitement every time he sees her, which tells me everything I need to know. It’s such a relief knowing I can trust someone who genuinely cares and creates such a positive, safe environment for him. Thank you again for everything—you’re truly the best!”

“Great sitter! She was able to watch Bastet on short notice and sent lots of photos. She made sure the dogs got along well and gave Bastet lots of attention. Sofia is also great at reading dog body language and made sure our girl was comfortable.”

“this was our first time using rover—or having someone outside our family watch our newly adopted dog—and lynne helped us have a great first experience. she made us feel comfortable from the get go and, most importantly, our fur baby seemed to enjoy his day with her. we would be thrilled to have her dog sit for us again, and recommend her without reservation to others!”

Cindy was amazing with our dog Gia today. This was our first time with her, and our dog was already comfortable with her. Cindy was extremely communicative, professional, and sent many progress photos through the day. She was so loving and caring with our puppy, we will definitely be using her help again. Highly recommend her!

She is an amazing sitter! She gave frequent updates throughout the day, and really appreciated that she went above and beyond by sending a lot of pictures. Also, I really appreciate her flexibility. If you’re in Boston, highly recommend her as your pet sitter. Go Greta (and Juniper)! 🫶✨

Angelena was so kind, communicative, and took such wonderful care of our dog. It was clear that our dog was happy, comfortable, and had the best time while we were away. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was in such great hands. We would absolutely book with Angelena again!

Maria and McAben are lovely people who accepted our last-minute request to care for our pup while we were at a Red Sox game. Our pup has separation anxiety issues and Maria snuggled and cuddled her until she calmed down and was very attentive in keeping me updated and sending photos. Very caring soul!

Ejin was great! Even though she’ll be moving soon, she was kind enough to help us while we search for a long-term daycare sitter. She sent us photos throughout Mochi’s stay, and it looked like Mochi was able to relax and get some good rest at her place. Mochi was very calm and content when she returned home. We really appreciated Ejin’s care and communication.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Somerville commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
