“Rebecca communicated well before we met and throughout the weekend, as well as provided adorable photos and updates during her visits. I would recommend Rebecca to anyone looking for a great pet sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals of all shapes and sizes since middle school, and I’ve had a cat of my own since I was 15. As a professional beekeeper, I’m comfortable getting my hands dirty and handling high-stress situations! I’m also a runner, so I’d be happy to take your dog on a run or an extra-long walk if they need to burn some energy. I have a flexible schedule as I am currently a student in grad school. Please let me know if you have any specific availability requests! Please share your pets routine, personality, favorite activities, and anything that helps them feel more comfortable. Their safety and comfort is my no. 1 priority!
“Lara was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly responsive, communicative, and kind throughout her stay with our cats. She followed all of our instructions carefully and was diligent about keeping us updated, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Most importantly, our cats felt extremely comfortable and happy around her—which is the ultimate sign of trust! I would have no hesitation whatsoever leaving our cats in Lara’s care again. She is someone I genuinely trust in our home and with our pets, and I would absolutely rebook and recommend her to anyone!”

About: I strive to establish a real connection with every pet I look after. I've cared for pets with all levels of disabilities and/or medical issues, which can require extra attentiveness or frequent medicine doses. I'm also a relatively active person and love getting extra steps in when we can. I'm a working actor and musician with plenty of time during the day and week! Overnight lodging is great, or just a regular swing thru. Very flexible scheduling wise. I have an anxiety ridden mutt who thrives on routine. We regularly go on walks, spend lots of time outside, and stick to a tight schedule. Treats, love, and extracurriculars always when applicable!

About: Hello! My name is Emmy and I'm so excited to care for your beloved pet! I have a wide range of experience from caring for elderly dogs who had strict medication schedules and mobility restrictions to puppies who are exploring their new world. The majority of my experience, however, comes from caring for my childhood dog Oakley, who was the sweetest Boston Terrier and loved playtime. I enjoy long and short walks in nature since my academic background is in Plant Sciences, so I would love to be accompanied by your pet. I can also send many photos and videos of your baby while you're away! I am currently between jobs, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet. I am available on weekdays and weekends and would be happy to stay/host for multiple days in a row. I live in a studio apartment on a residential street near a big park, so there are lots of safe walking routes and areas for play. I am also happy to take your pet to any of their favorite spots near your home while doing in-home care.
“Was incredibly attuned to my lil anxious Winston, provided consistent helpful feedback & was just overall a perfect pet sitter for my baby boy! I was nervous using rover for the first time, and Rachel exceeded my expectations & went above and beyond. Will be working with her again!”

“Zoe was on time and maintained great communication with us while taking care of our cats! She made sure to play with them and sent us plenty of pictures which we greatly appreciated. Would recommend her for anyone in need of an attentive cat sitter.”

“Carly took very good care of my cat, made my pet completely comfortable while I was away. Helpful messaging and follow-up. Truly went above and beyond for appointments. Highly recommend!”

About: I have pet sit for many different animals since I was around 12 years old! I've grown up with a beagle and a mutt, and I currently live with one black cat. I've previously undertaken responsibilities including feeding, walking, bathing, and playing with animals for up to two weeks. I have overseen senior pet care for my own family's pets, so I am experienced in handling medications and special instructions as well. I am an animal lover of all kinds, and I am happy to answer any questions that you may have! I currently work full-time, but I am typically free during nights after 6pm, any time on Friday (I am typically off this day, as I work longer days M-Th), or the weekend. We have large windows in our home for pets who like to watch birds and other creatures outside! Additionally, we have a small fenced in yard for potty breaks or to stretch their legs a bit outside. We also have another friendly and young black cat at our home who can be a friendly play partner for your pet. I am happy to accommodate your animal in whatever way you’d like in your home, too!
About: Will love your dog like my own! I used to walk dogs and volunteer to run with greyhounds, so I can get your pet the exercise they need! I also have experience with medication administration. I also consider my pet photography abilities to be at least slightly above average. :) I am currently not working (through October) and am very flexible with when I can see your furbabies! I understand every pet is unique, and I can provide on-time care for those who like to be in a specific routine. Safety is my top priority! I never hesitate to ask questions and am a great communicator when it comes to you, your pet, and their needs.

About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember and have years of experience caring for my own pets as well as pets belonging to friends and family. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and of course giving them plenty of attention and love while you’re away. I’m a huge dog person, but I’m also happy to care for cats! I work full-time during the week, so I’m primarily available after work in the evenings and on weekends. I’m happy to stop by for walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, or just to spend some time keeping your pet company. My weekends are generally flexible for pet care. When caring for pets in their home, I’ll always follow their normal routine and any instructions you leave for me. I know every pet has their own personality, comfort level, and habits, so I’m happy to take things at their pace. I’ll make sure they’re safe, cared for, and getting plenty of attention while you’re away
About: Having my own animals as well as fostering, I'm good at helping shy animals feel safe and cared for. As a registered nurse and with experience caring for senior animals I can also help administer medications so you know your animals health is cared for while you are away. I'm currently enrolled in Master program at Boston University with mostly evening classes, so I have a lot of flexibility to meet your pets needs. I am available most days during normal business hours and have weekend avaibility as well. It can be hard on your pets while you're away. Whether it is walking your dog while you are at work or caring for your cat while you're on vacation, my goal is to keep their routine as possible. I will come out to your home and strive to feed and walk them at the same time of day as you usually do. I am particularly good at caring for senior pets, giving them the gentle calm care they need. If your pet has medicine or special care I will work with you so that you know they are getting what they need while you're gone. I take time to get to know each animal I care for and what their needs are. All along the way I will provide you with updates.
“Emily is amazing and truly loved pups. I truly felt so safe having her there and in our home! I’m definitely excited to work with her in the future and I’m super grateful for her.”

About: Since I was 13, I’ve taken care of countless dogs of different sizes, ages, and breeds. Neighbors and friends have trusted me to take care of their pets overnight, whether it be walking, feeding, playing, or bathing. While I’m searching for a job, the rest of my time is free to take care of pups!! I’m available on weekdays and Sundays after 9 am. I wake up at 7am, and I adjust my care depending on each dog. Usually, this includes 3-4 walks per day, with potty breaks every 2-3 hours. I have a large fenced yard, and two mutts for company. I can keep them separate or crated if need be, whatever works for you and your dog. I also have small and medium sized dog crates if your dog uses them. As long as you tell me what your pup needs, I can deliver.
“Anna took great care of our Stanley! She was very responsive and attentive to any issues during her visits and made sure Stanley was well taken care of while we were away. Highly recommend!”

About: I have experience taking care for the needs of both cats and dogs. Caring for animals brings me such joy and helps my well-being as well! I have been taking care of dogs since I was young. I know the time and effort needed to provide them an interactive environment where they are fed, walked, played and cuddled with. For cats, I have experience rescuing stray mothers and their kittens in dire situations. I am good on being on schedule for feedings, mediation, playtime, and alone time. I understand cats have different temperaments and they will be the boss. Having a flexible work schedule and living near a park allows me to prioritize your pet’s needs! I can board cats and small dogs at my home. Your fur baby’s health and wellbeing is my top priority! Before any booking, I will check in with you to make sure that I am able to meet their needs such as enrichment activities, nutrition, and medical needs! If I can’t be your sitter, I will make sure to recommend you to others in the area. 🙂

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Somerville
I am so thrilled with my experience with Emily. This is only our second time using rover and we have a very energetic and unique 2year old dog so it can be nerve wracking, but she was understanding and amazing with him. She made note that he didn’t go to the bathroom on their walk so made sure to take him out again before she left which shows how much she cares. She also used some commands with him which is great for him to practice. She followed my directions on where and how to walk him and they played with his favorite toys. We got plenty of adorable photos of their time together. Will definitely be reaching out again for future drop ins. Thank you Emily!

Zoe is absolutely amazing. I can tell she genuinely cares about my pup and loves dogs. Zoe is responsive and even writes a detailed report of what they did and how he was behaving. She also takes so many cute pictures every time! Absolutely love having her take care of my pup :)

Madeline was amazing!!! She helped me out last minute with my puppy and gave me such peace of mind being able to come. She was incredibly attentive and detailed with her visit notes. She followed my over explained directions perfectly and my puppy loved her!! I would 100% book with her again, thank you Madeline :)

I couldn’t be happier with Nathan as our puppy sitter! He took such wonderful care of our puppy and gave him so much attention and patience. It was clear that he genuinely cared about him. Nathan was reliable, communicative, and kept me updated throughout his sessions, which gave me complete peace of mind. I feel incredibly lucky to have found someone to trust with my puppy and would highly recommend Nathan to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and wonderful pet sitter or dog walker.

Monica has been so terrific watching Willow while we are at work. Willow was recovering from an Injury and Monica adapted wonderfully to assist her as needed. and Monica’s positive attitude, flexibility, and frequent updates make her one of our favorite pet-sitters ever! Strongly recommend!

Teylah is incredible! She watched our rescue pitbull Junebug while we were away for a few days, and was more than capable of handling June's anxiety, high prey drive, and reactivity with other dogs. She asked a lot of thoughtful questions when we first met and knew just how to make our senior dog feel comfortable. We loved all the photos and updates, and Junebug looked so happy! We highly recommend Teylah!

Megan was awesome! She took such great care of our dogs while we were visiting Boston, checking in on them, taking them for walks, and spending quality playtime with them. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were happy and well cared for while we explored the city. Her communication was excellent, with regular updates that made the whole experience completely stress-free. We truly appreciated her help and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
