“Rebecca communicated well before we met and throughout the weekend, as well as provided adorable photos and updates during her visits. I would recommend Rebecca to anyone looking for a great pet sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals of all shapes and sizes since middle school, and I’ve had a cat of my own since I was 15. As a professional beekeeper, I’m comfortable getting my hands dirty and handling high-stress situations! I’m also a runner, so I’d be happy to take your dog on a run or an extra-long walk if they need to burn some energy. I have a flexible schedule as I am currently a student in grad school. Please let me know if you have any specific availability requests! Please share your pets routine, personality, favorite activities, and anything that helps them feel more comfortable. Their safety and comfort is my no. 1 priority!

About: I spent my entire childhood growing up with dogs and have had 3 of my own. They inspired me to pursue dog training alongside my career as a biologist. I’ve previously volunteered and worked as a trainer at the MSPCA and I’m a CPDT-KA certified trainer. I am passionate about working with dogs and their humans on basic obedience as well as problem behaviors, and fear based behavior issues. I am a science backed positive reinforcement trainer using fear free approaches. I am comfortable handling all sizes, ages, breeds, and reactivity levels and would be happy to do a preliminary phone call to make sure we're a good fit for each other's needs. You can be confident that I will treat your pet with the same care and attention I do my own and provide you with the skills to build a long lasting relationship with your pup based on trust. They are a part of the family after all! Generally, weekend mornings/afternoons and weekday evenings are the most flexible for me, but I understand you may need care please outside of these windows. Please reach out and I can try my best to accommodate other times. I will follow the specific instructions you leave and treat your pup with that same love and care I do my own. As I’m a certified trainer I can also give you tips for things I notice that could be improved

About: Certified in Pet CPR & First Aid 🐾 Thanks for clicking on my profile! I believe house-sitting is fundamentally an act of stewardship. My goal is simple: when you walk back through your front door, everything feels exactly as it should. Your home is peaceful, your pets are happy, and you can tell they have been genuinely cared for. 🐾 Every animal has its own personality, and earning their trust is one of my favorite parts of this work. 🐾 As a home-owner myself, I understand how to manage properties, schedules and routines and how to create a warm, safe environment for your pets. 🐾 Because I work remotely as an author and book editor, I’m able to provide a steady, reassuring presence throughout the day rather than simply stopping in for visits. Whether I’m editing a manuscript from your dining table or writing with a cat asleep beside me, your pets will enjoy quiet companionship and consistent routines. 🐾 I’m new to Rover, but I have more than twenty verified five-star pet-sitting reviews on Trusted Housesitters. Many of my previous Trusted Housesitters clients have been gracious enough to upload their testimonials to Rover. 🐾 Most of my clients are academics, researchers, physicians, writers, and other professionals who travel for conferences, sabbaticals, research, or extended holidays. They aren’t simply looking for someone to feed the pets—they’re looking for complete peace of mind while they’re away. 🐾 Over the past several years I’ve cared for homes and animals in more than ten countries. My experience ranges from city apartments in Boston, Amsterdam, and Paris to historic homes, farms, country cottages, and rural retreats worldwide. 🐾 I’ve cared for rescue animals, blind cats, elderly dogs, anxious pets during thunderstorms and fireworks, post-surgical kittens, and animals requiring medication. I’ve even helped a mother cat give birth. 🐾 Long-term house sitting often involves much more than pet care, and I’m comfortable handling the unexpected with calm professionalism. I’ve managed realtor showings while homeowners were abroad, coordinated with utility workers and neighbors, helped oversee an Airbnb during a plumbing emergency, cared for animals while owners exhibited artwork at an international art fair, and managed the daily operations of farms and historic homes. I enjoy solving problems quietly before they become worries for the people who have entrusted me with their homes. 🐾 Before becoming an editor, I spent twenty years as the spouse of a U.S. Air Force servicemember, an experience that instilled habits of reliability, discretion, punctuality, cleanliness, and adaptability. Living internationally also taught me how to stay calm in unfamiliar situations and make thoughtful decisions when circumstances change unexpectedly. As a freelance book editor and writer, I work remotely and set my own schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care. Whether I’m writing from the couch with a cat curled beside me or taking regular breaks for walks, playtime, and companionship, your pets will rarely be left alone for long. Caring for someone’s pet also means caring for their home. After more than twenty successful house sits and dozens of five-star reviews, I’ve developed a reputation for being calm, dependable, tidy, and attentive. I follow routines carefully, communicate promptly, and treat every home with the same respect and care I would hope someone would show mine. My goal is always for owners to return to a happy pet and a home that feels exactly as they left it.
“Kyra did a great job caring for my two cats, sometimes coming twice a day to feed, water and litter. Kyra also gave ear drops to Nike who had an infection. She sent pictures and was in contact, and I think the cats really liked her. I trust her and would certainly book Kyra again.”

About: I have a dog of my own, so I know the deal. Walking my dog and hanging out with her is the best part of my day, and I would love for your dog to join. Weekends are my focus and I’m free for shenanigans and long walks! I have my own dog so 3-4walks on the weekend is our normal. I would consider weekdays, but we would have to talk because I work full time on site M-F, so during the week they would have a 20-30min morning walk and 1-2 afternoon walks. I have a well mannered dog friendly dog at home and I would care for your pet like I would mine…which means a lot of attention. Dogs would have to be able to do 3 flights of stairs or be pick-up-able
“Thomas was able to watch my cat on very short notice. He is very punctual, meticulous, and caring! I absolutely recommend him and will be reaching out to him for future cat sitting.”

“Lorena took great care of my cat while I was away. She shared photos of him and gave me updates via his visit card. She also communicated quickly leading up to the visit. I would book Lorena again!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for several years through pet sitting for family and friends, volunteering with a local animal shelter, and now through Rover. I’ve cared for dogs in their homes and provided regular walks, and I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels. I always take the time to get to know each dog and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I work from home with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide reliable care and plenty of company throughout the day. Whether your dog loves a long walk, some playtime, or simply relaxing by my side, I’m happy to follow their routine and give them the attention they need. I’m also happy to follow detailed instructions and send regular updates so you can feel confident your dog is happy and well cared for while you’re away! Pet care fits really naturally into my weekly routine since I work from home with a flexible schedule. This allows me to reliably offer morning walks, midday drop-ins, and evening care during the weekdays, with some additional flexibility on weekends depending on availability. I’m looking to provide steady, dependable care that feels consistent and low-stress for both pets and their owners, rather than occasional or unpredictable bookings. I provide pet care in clients’ homes, focusing on keeping each pet comfortable by sticking closely to their normal routine. I follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, walks, litter box care, and any specific household guidelines. For dogs, I prioritize calm, structured walks with safe leash handling, along with attention, play, and bathroom breaks based on their usual routine. For cats, I provide quiet, respectful care including feeding, litter box cleaning, fresh water, and companionship based on each cat’s comfort level. I also make sure the home is secure while I’m there and send regular updates and photos so owners know their pets are safe and doing well!

About: I am 26 years old and I have been dog walking and house sitting with dogs and cats since the age of 11. I grew up in a house with 2 dogs and helped out throughout all the puppy phases. In high school I had a chinchilla and 3 years ago I got my own cat, so I am now much more familiar with their needs (I found the show "My Cat From Hell" especially helpful). I have a lot of experience with both anxious and energetic cats and dogs. I can administer oral medications and will make sure your pet eats their whole meal. I am currently working from home, so schedule is very flexible just propose a day and time and I will let you know what works! I can only care for pets in other people's homes, my apartment is not pet friendly. I am very mindful of animal communication styles and am good at helping tentative animals come out to play. I appreciate the opportunity to access a yard, park, or even spacious living room where we can play after a walk or before a meal.
“You absolutely could not find a better dog sitter than Minhyung. She has been such a blessing to our dog Gilly, who absolutely loves her! Minhyung is attentive, timely, considerate, and goes above and beyond when watching your dog. I have the utmost trust in her, and would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone!”

“Ariel was fantastic! She was extremely communicative both via text and photos. i always felt comfortable that i knew exactly how everything was. Tabitha and I look forward to having her return!”

“We are so glad we booked with Samantha. You can tell she really cares for animals. She visited our 2 cats during our vacation and checked in with us each time with photos. She is very communicative and shared pictures of each visit. We will continue using her in the future!”

“This is the second time I hired Alanna to watch my cat and I'll definitely be hiring her a third time! Her communication was great, and I was living for her photo updates and summaries. Highly recommend!”

About: Throughout the past few years I've been able to help dogs walk better on a leash just by taking them on regular trips. I'm patient and happy to adjust to the dog's normal routine and the family's expectations so rules are still followed when they return. Overall, I'm doing this because I love dogs and want to care for them just as you do! I do work a full-time job, but I’m happy to care for pets on the weekends, in the mornings and evenings outside of my work hours, and can many times care for them during lunchtime. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of the environment and ensuring that the client’s expectations for home care and the relationship with the pet is respected (ex. Keeping pets off furniture, placement of toys and bowls, clean up).

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Somerville
Samichya and her husband were fantastic caretakers for my two beagles. They were wonderfully communicative throughout the stay, always quick to respond, and I felt completely at ease knowing my dogs were in such good hands. I came home to happy pups and a house left in great shape. Highly recommend their care.

Emily was amazing! She took such great care of my puppy, especially while he was recovering from being neutered, and even made a point to give my cat some love during her visits. My puppy can be a little wary of new people, but he and Emily hit it off quickly, and he always looked so happy in the photos she sent. She is incredibly friendly, reliable, and clearly wonderful with animals. I would absolutely recommend her!

We were visiting Boston to see friends in from out of town for the wknd and going to be away from our hotel during the day. Rita took such good care of our golden both days. It gave us peace of mind to see photos of our baby smiling on her outings with Rita and that she was having some fun while we were away. Rita fed her dinner and played with her in the room too. We will definitely reach out to Rita for help again!

Julia is the best!!! She's been doing drop in visits with my dog for the past year while I've been at the office and is so communicative and reliable. Willow can be a little anxious about going outside but Julia handled it wonderfully and took such good care of her, giving her a bathroom break, food, medicine, and lots of cuddles and sending me lots of cute pics. Would use Julia forever if we weren't moving out of state. Can't recommend her enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
