About: I’ve been lucky to have dogs in my life for as long as I can remember, and they’ve brought me more joy than I ever could have imagined. Throughout my life, I’ve had hands-on experience raising and training puppies, as well as providing compassionate care during their later years. While I currently don’t have a dog of my own—due to apartment restrictions—I’m excited to offer my services through Rover to care for dogs just as I would my own. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, and house sitting, and I’m eager to bring my experience and love for animals to help your dog feel comfortable and well cared for in your absence! I am completely free on the weekends and can bring your dog for car rides or out to a hiking trail. I work from home Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and have a flexible schedule. You can count on me to ensure your dog’s safety and well-being. I’m experienced in administering medications, following specific dietary guidelines, and handling any crate training or management needs.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have experience caring for pets for family, friends, and neighbors. As a retired Division I student-athlete and current graduate student at Tufts, I am dependable, responsible, and highly organized. I understand that pets are family, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. One thing that sets me apart is my patience and ability to adapt to each dog’s unique personality. I have experience working with anxious, timid, and shy dogs who need extra reassurance, as well as high-energy dogs who thrive with exercise, structure, and play. As a former Division I athlete, I am also comfortable handling larger, stronger dogs and can confidently keep up with dogs that need long walks, runs, or plenty of activity. Whether your dog needs exercise, playtime, lots of attention, or simply a reliable person to check in on them, I’m happy to help. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priorities. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I’m a graduate student at Tufts University with a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable pet care throughout the week. I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, so dog walks fit naturally into my daily routine. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a long walk, or a drop in visit, I’m committed to being dependable, punctual, and responsive. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs so they feel secure and cared for while you’re away. I will always follow your instructions closely, keep pets safely leashed during walks, and provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own.
About: Between Rima and I, we have 8 years of cat ownership experience. I (Sam) also grew up with both cats and dogs. Both of our jobs involve working directly with others. We are both friendly, patient and enjoy the company of animals at the end of the day. We both work full-time, although have varying hours depending on the day. Sam is a public school teacher, so more availability in the summer months. We make a great first impression! We understand the need for any new animal to build trust with us. Whether your dog/cat is the most trusting animal out there or an extreme sceptic, we will allow them to come to us first.
About: I'm a dog dad based in Medford who's been around animals my whole life. I know how to read a dog's energy, handle the ones that pull or get anxious, and give owners the kind of communication that actually puts them at ease. Currently offering dog walking and cat and dog check-ins in Medford, Malden, and Somerville. Reliable, consistent, and genuinely happy to be there. I am currently working remote 4 days a week. I have pretty good flexibility throughout the weekdays. Weekends I will need more notice. Shoot me a message and we can work something out! I currently live in an apartment so I cannot board animals. But I am happy to do drop ins and walks in the Medford, Malden, Somerville area.
“Kat did a great job taking care of Gunnar. She communicated very promptly and clearly from the first contact; we set up a meet and greet for the next day and then two days later she came and walked him while I was away. She clearly loves dogs and he instantly loved her back. I knew he was in good hands. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again and I recommend her highly to anyone looking for pet care.”

“Hillary was a great find in the "eleventh hour" of my search for service. She dropped in and took really good care of my dog while I was far away for the day. I felt confident from our first texts and Hillary's generous effort to come to my home for a meet n greet. Hillary followed through with great communication, lots of photos and follow up texts. I would call her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her services ! Thank you so much!”

About: I’ve been doing drop-in visits for friends and family’s pets since I was 15. Never had a pet myself due to my parents’ allergies, so I love giving extra love and attention to other peoples’ furry friends. When I was a junior in high school I even built a local dog park for my Girl Scout Gold Award project, just to help local dogs have more fun letting out their energy. I’m happy to attend to your animals specific wants, like a snuggly or energetic pet, or one of those pets that has a little hidey hole to check in on. My work schedule is hybrid, so I can easily care for your pet while working. I’m always working from home Mondays and Fridays, and I can take on any other day of the week as well, as long as I have a few days notice. I’m happy to meet with your pet ahead of time to let them get to know me while you’re home. I’m used to building trust slowly over time with animals.
“Our puppy had a great time with Zoe. Zoe was also so kind to meet with us in the neighborhood the day before she was scheduled to visit/walk our dog! Then she bravely took our dog out for a walk on a rainy day. We enjoyed the updates and photos and look forward to working with Zoe again :-)”

“Yuting was super easy to communicate with and extremely prompt on her reply (especially with myself needing the check-in about 40 minutes ahead of schedule). On top of that, I had complete peace of mind that she was the one checking in on my old man (cat), especially after reading her profile and a brief chat with her. Extremely happy she had availability for me, and definitely will be booking again!”
About: Hi! I have grown up around dogs and cats since I was a kid. I had a mini Australian Shephard for 8 years. I have experience dog and house sitting for family and friends. This includes overnight stays, walks, feeding, playing, and administering medications when needed. I have had my cat Saylor for a year & half and live in a house with a total of 4 cats. I have volunteered at local animal shelters for years and spent a year volunteering at a local vet clinic. I have loved animals since I was a kid and am so excited at the chance of getting to care for your fur babies! I currently work full time but work from home on Monday's and Thursday's. I am available after 4:30pm through the week and have open availability on Saturday's and Sunday's. I can take dogs out on walks, check out the parks or hit the hiking trails. I have tons of cat toys at home that offer different kinds of stimulation and would be happy to play with your cat or kittens at home.
“Diamond took such amazing care of our cats while we were away! She did such a good job taking care of each of their different needs as well as sending great pics which made us feel close to them even while far away. We look forward to working with her for our future trips!”

“Alicia was communicative and punctual with her visit. My cat gets lonely on his own, and she sent me pictures of him looking very happy having some playtime and a belly rub (his favorite). She adhered to the instructions I left for her and she was caring and attentive. I came home to a happy cat and that makes me happy! I have already booked Alicia for a future visit and I can enjoy my vacation knowing my cat will be well taken care of.”

“Emma was great to work with and cared for our cat as if she was her own while we were away for a few days. She was super flexible when we asked to change one of the drop-in times, so it was nice to know that my cat was able to stick to a good meal schedule. Will gladly have Emma cat-sit for us again!”

“Maria and her partner happily accepted a quick meet up before meeting Mochi and I. They were eager, friendly, and very respectful. They spent and hour each day playing, petting, chasing, and cuddling with Mochi. My little Mochi was ecstatic to see them and play with them. Knowing that she was in great, eager, and safe company and while providing her nonstop attention for the hour was the best I could ask for. Would love to have Maria and her partner hang with Mochi again soon!”

“Alanna did an awesome job watching Bandit! She was accommodating and had excellent communication from the meet & greet to the end of the booking. I loved her regular updates, and I appreciated her willingness to give Bandit oral medicine during the drop-ins. I'm grateful she was available and will definitely be booking again :)”

“My cat is shy and not a big fan of other people. But Yesika is the only sitter he gets along well with. Whenever Yesika is taking care of my cat, I know that he is in hood hands, which gives me a huge relief.”

“Elise have taken care of my cats multiple times now and I can only say she provides exceptional care each time! My cats have fallen in love with her over time and truly is excited when she comes to visit them. Highly recommend her to take care of your fur babies ♥️”

We all love Shawn! She's been caring for our puppy 4x/week for the last month. She's consistent, thoughtful, and he's so happy to see her each morning. Communication has been super easy and she's very attentive to the daily, ever-changing needs of a new puppy. Thanks Shawn!

Nik was awesome. Whiskey is very anxious and Nik gave him all the attention he needed. He also took care of Whiskey after his paw surgery and sent us updates throughout the day. When he came back home, Whiskey was happy to see him and comfortable to be around him. We will hire Nik again.

Eleanor did an excellent and thoughtful job caring for my dog who had an unexpected medical emergency that was very serious. She helped her through the process and I’m very grateful to have had her help in that situation. She is a kind and responsible caregiver and I certainly recommend her.

Dalia is an exceptionally responsible and detail-oriented person. She is very kind and caring with dogs, and often goes above and beyond expectations by taking on extra work. She is highly reliable, and I strongly recommend her. I will definitely continue working with Dalia in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
