Science-based, multi-certified
Prior to being a full-time dog trainer, I was a social scientist who fostered and rehabbed behaviorally challenged rescue dogs. Through this experience, it became abundantly clear to me that the training industry is woefully unregulated, leading guardians to inefficient progress or worse --outdated methods relying on fear/pain. I ultimately made a full-time career switch from academia to dog training, bringing my love for science with me. Dogs deserve science -- and the science is clear that force and fear-free methods are the most effective, even for aggression.

What to expect
Consultation
During our initial phone call, we will discuss a brief history of your dog, your training concerns and goals, and what type of training would be most effective. I will answer any questions you might have about training services. When we meet for the first time, we'll go over a full history, I will assess your dog's current skills and behavior, and we will then make a collaborative training/behavior modification plan to move forward.
Sessions
During our sessions, we will briefly check in about progress and changes in behavior over the previous week. Then, we will work on the next steps of your behavior modification plan. I will model steps for you, then have you practice and coach you through any changes needed. We will wrap up with steps to continue making progress throughout the week and a benchmark for our following session. I am available between sessions for needed support.
