Anxious and reactive dog specialist

Is your dog overexcited, reactive, or anxious, and you're not sure where to turn? You're not alone. I work with folks who love their dogs DEEPLY, but whose dogs have behavior struggles: jumping on guests, barking on walks, pulling on leash so hard it hurts your hands, etc. We won't just work on sit and stay; we'll get to the root of the behavior and build a plan so you leave every session knowing exactly what to do. I know how isolating it is when your dog struggles in ways others don't get. My job is to be in your corner, as a trainer, a cheerleader, and someone who genuinely gets it.

What to expect

Consultation

Our first meeting is a free Zoom consultation, where we'll chat about your dog and any issues you're dealing with. This is your chance to get to know me, and to make sure I'm a good fit for you! If you want to move forward, we'll schedule our first in-person training session and get ready to rock.

Sessions

Typically in your home

When we meet in person for the first time, we'll spend the first half diving into your dog's history and daily routine. For the rest of our session, we'll discuss your dog's initial custom plan and practice some skills. At each following session, we'll troubleshoot any issues, and I'll update your custom plan to keep your dog's progress moving forward! After each session, I'll send you a handout with everything we discussed, including instructions for at-home practice. I'm here for you between sessions, too! Reach out with any questions or concerns.

Positive Reinforcement

As a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Parter (KPA CTP) and Fear Free Certified dog trainer, I’m committed to force-free dog training. That means I choose to rely on positive reinforcement, and I don't inflict pain or fear to punish unwanted behavior. At the same time, I believe everyone is trying their best for their dogs. So I'm not here to judge or shame dog parents who have trained differently in the past.
