Luxury Pup Stay in South Boston
Your dog will be staying in a luxury, professionally managed high-rise condo in South Boston with a small, dog-obsessed family — not a crowded, noisy kennel. My two kids love dogs and are great at calm play, fetch, and gentle cuddles (only if your pup is into it and your rules allow). Our building is very dog-friendly and includes a private dog run on site, so your pup gets easy, safe outdoor time without crossing busy intersections. We’re in one of the best dog neighborhoods in the city. I regularly take dogs to the A Street Park dog zone for quick fenced play, and to East First Street Dog Park or South Boston Bark Park when they need a proper off-leash workout. For longer sniff-walks, we head through the Seaport and along the Harborwalk, or over to the Sea Green dog park so your dog can explore the waterfront and people-watch in a safe, comfortable way. We reached out to Michael to help dog sit our eight-month-old puppy, Robin, when we were in a bit of a pinch and needed to be away for a few hours. We were very lucky that he was available and ready to help. He stopped by and immediately had a calming effect on Robin, to the point where she quickly felt comfortable just hanging out with him. They had originally planned to go for a long walk, but the weather turned bad. Michael was more than happy to take Robin back to his place instead and spend time with her there. He sent us a very sweet photo of Robin calmly sitting by the window on one of his plush cushions, which really reassured us that she was relaxed and content. It was truly a lifesaver for us, and Michael really stepped up when we did not know what to do with our puppy. He is clearly very good with animals and has a naturally calm presence. We definitely plan to book Michael again the next time we need someone to dog sit Robin.

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my normal routine. I generally work from home a couple days each week, so on those days I’m around most of the day for regular walks, breaks, and company. On the other weekdays, I go into the office, but it’s a short walk to Back Bay, so I’m not gone for long commuter hours. I’m home for morning care (feeding, walks, settling your dog in for the day) and back in time for evening walks, play, and downtime. Evenings are usually spent at home with my kids, which means your dog is part of a predictable, family-style routine during the week. On weekends, I’m typically in South Boston and keep plans flexible, which leaves plenty of time for longer walks, play, and relaxed hangout time. Your dog just folds into our existing rhythm of morning, afternoon, and evening attention across the week.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and trust come first in my home. I only host one dog at a time, so your pup gets my full attention and isn’t overwhelmed by a rotating pack of other dogs. Dogs are supervised and integrated into our family routine, not left alone in a separate room all day. My two kids are used to being calm and gentle with animals, and I manage all interactions so your dog feels safe and respected. I follow your instructions closely, including: • Feeding schedule and dietary rules • Medication routines • Crate/sleep setup • Training cues and house rules you want reinforced I’m careful with doors, elevators, and leashes. No slipping out of open doors, no roaming hallways, and no off-leash time outdoors unless it’s clearly safe and appropriate for your dog. If your pup needs downtime, I can set them up in a quiet, low-stress space so they can decompress away from noise or excitement. I’d rather a dog feel calm and secure than overstimulated. For added peace of mind, there is a veterinarian’s office directly across the street. We hope never to need it, but most owners appreciate knowing professional help is immediately nearby in case of an emergency.
A typical day
A typical day starts with a morning potty break and a relaxed walk to get your dog’s wiggles out before I start work. During the day, they hang out with me at home, rotate between naps, toys, and checking on what I’m doing. When my kids are home, they join in for gentle play, fetch, and supervised cuddles. We’ll mix in shorter bathroom breaks and one or two longer walks, plus a bit of basic training reinforcement if you’d like (sit, stay, leash manners, etc.). Evenings are for another good walk, dinner, and winding down together so your dog goes to sleep tired, calm, and feeling like part of the family.
