“I can't recommend Alyson enough! We met ahead of time so she could get to know the boys and the house set up. She was super communicative and wrote thorough reports and took lots of photos. I felt totally assured that our cats were in great hands, including the one with diabetes. She already feels like a friend.”

“Sarah is our go to sitter for our skittish boy kitty Jake! Sue is so, so patient with him and we feel so good being away when Sarah is in charge! Thank you.”

“Lizz was fantastic with my cat, Audrey! I was worried about leaving for an extended trip knowing that I needed someone to watch my fur baby, especially as my cat needs twice daily asthma inhaler treatments. Lizz was very kind and gentle with Audrey. She stopped by before I left on my trip to make sure Audrey was comfortable with her and that she was able to manage the inhaler treatments before I left. She kept me updated via pics and texts. I think they became fast friends while I was away! I would definitely use Lizz again in the future.”

“Sarah was attentive to my cats needs and sent me photos everyday. I really appreciated the piece of mind she gave me knowing that my cat was well taken care of during my trip.”
About: I have been a dog owner for many years, with a major preference for small dogs. Not only do I have lots of experience caring for my own pets, but I have sat and cared for the dogs of many different friends and family, as well as those I don’t personally know well, over the years. I am patient, loving, always try to have fun with the dogs, and always try to give them the best care possible. I’ve had dogs all my life. I got my first dog, Lukey, when I was young and he was my best friend. Originally got him for my mother to keep her company, but fell in love with him myself and made him my own once she passed. I’d take him through the woods on walks and we eventually became inseparable. He passed at age 18. Eventually I met a woman who had two dogs of her own and they became like my kids. I had them for many years, although sadly they are all passed now as well. Currently I help care for two dogs with my ex who lives in the apartment below me, as we are still good friends. I make sure they are well cared for and take them out regularly. I love to play with them. I take dogs very seriously as they are like family to me. I can currently work Monday-Saturday, with exceptions. I do have to schedule around some minor things early in the morning, and those take priority, and those can be discussed, but otherwise I’m completely free. I love animals and always try to give them 100% of the love and attention they deserve. I feed them, walk them, take them out and play with them, and always try to give them my best. I’ve always treated my own dogs as if they were my children, and I extend that to any dog I care for.
About: With my 6+ experience with pets I feel I am equipped for check ins, walks, overnight stays, etc. I’m willing to be flexible in order to accommodate you and your pets needs! I am a teacher full time and rover is something I use to fill my free time! Come summertime I will have more availability for boarding, check ins and walking! Please reach out if you have any inquiries! I am flexible and have great problem solving skills to accommodate any situation that may arise. I have great communication as well for anything that the pawrents might need while their pet is under my care.
“Jadeth and Noah did a great job watching Oreo! While he is a very social cat, he is also prone to getting scared and hiding. He hasn't been coming out in recent times when people have watched him for me. I was very impressed with how confidently Jadeth and Noah approached him, and he warmed up very fast. This eased my mind, as he is young and needs a lot of socialization. Would definitely reach out to them again!”

“Yanira took amazing care of Ruthie! She can be shy with new people but came out for Yanira, great to get the daily photos! I would absolutely book with her again!”

“James was an excellent caregiver for my cat. He came over early to see the house and meet Finbar, sent nice updates and pictures. I would be happy to use his services again.”

“Karen was amazing! Super communicative and reliable - she also went above and beyond in cleaning up when our kitty made a mess and send great photos and videos that helped us feel comfortable and confident in her services. We could tell our kitty appreciated her visits as well!”

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover who truly enjoys caring for pups of all breeds and personalities. Throughout my life I've been so fortunate to care for three dogs from the days we first brought them home as puppies to their last days. I feel very comfortable caring for dogs of all ages. Spending time with and caring for my friends' and family's dogs has always been a big part of my life. I treat every dog like my own, giving them plenty of attention, affection, and exercise. I offer dog walking, daycare (at your home or mine), and boarding (again at your home or mine), and regardless of your pup's needs they’ll be in caring hands. I look forward to taking care of your dog! I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so I can easily accommodate daytime walks, playtime, and love to have a dog-friend close by while I am working. Whether it's for day care or an overnight, how I care for your dog can be tailored to your dog's needs. I have frequently stayed overnight at the owner's house, including places pretty far from my own home. Several of the photos in my profile are with dogs that I cared for while traveling! Your dogs' safety, health, physical activity needs, dietary needs, and need for snuggling (or need for space if you have a less social or timid pup) are really what's most important. In my home you are welcome to bring a crate, your dog's favorite toys or bed, food/snacks, as well as anything else your dog might need. We also have a very large sectional that we bought with dog-snuggling in mind, but if you have any rules with your dog that are important for me to reinforce, I will absolutely respect that.
“What an amazing experience! First time with Rover and wasn’t sure what to expect. Marz went above and beyond any expectations I could have had. She was attentive and diligent, took a ton of care to follow our slightly complicated feeding setup (diabetic cat…), shared a lot of details every day, took great photos, and above all gave great love and attention to our furry counterparts. It felt so good to know they are in such good hands while we are away. Thank you so much!”

“I recently moved to the Boston area with my two large dogs. Finding a dog walker/sitter was a top priority for me, especially since both dogs loved their last walker! Ann Marie has been professional since day one. She asks detailed questions about the dogs, and carefully chooses the best care for each one. We have used her for about a month now, and the dogs love her visits. She has gotten to know their individual personalities, and I know they look forward to when she comes! On top of her ability to connect with dogs, she is incredibly flexible. I find her easy to book and work with, especially as I balance multiple schedules, and I am not consistent with my bookings. I expect to continue working with Ann Marie for quite a while!”

About: I grew up in a home with dogs, cats, bunnies, hens and roosters. I have never lived without caring for an animal! I love being outside, going for walks, playing and gardening. I am a mom of two school-aged boys and a proud owner of two tuxedo kitties whom we adopted nine years ago. I work part-time in the afternoons as an outdoor preschool art specialist. I am free between 9:30 am, and 1 pm everyday, and Wednesday and Thursday until 3 pm! I may also have early evenings free starting at the end of June. I have plenty of time in my schedule to help you care for your animals. Looking forward to meeting them! I am fun, gentle, playful and caring, and have a good instinct for what dogs and cats need. I can read body language and am sensitive to energy. I look forward to learning more about your pets from you, getting to know them and forging a relationship.
“I'm very thankful for Wanda because I was away overseas and my previous sitter had to cancel.. this was not a situation any pet parent should ever be put through and I was able to get ahold of Wanda who came to the rescue even without me being there to show her the procedure for taking care of my 2 cats. (Granted, I had a Youtube video giving an overview of the process and I gave her the codes to my lockbox and my home alarm which all went smoothly.)”

About: I have cared for my own pets for many years and have experience looking after family members' pets as well. I currently care for my four cats and previously helped care for my sister's dog by providing feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. Caring for animals has always been important to me, and I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I am committed to making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I work full-time during the week, but I am available for pet care on the weekends. I understand the importance of consistency and communication and will work with pet owners to ensure their pets receive the care and attention they need. I am happy to provide updates and photos during visits so owners can feel confident their pets are doing well. I treat every pet as if they were my own. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and any special requests from owners. I understand that pets can become stressed when their owners are away, so I focus on creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I also believe in regular communication and am happy to provide updates and photos throughout my visits.

Ella took wonderful care of our two cats while we were away. Ella was reliable, attentive, and clearly loves animals, our cats were happy, relaxed, and well fed the whole time. Ella sent updates and photos and a video, which put our minds at ease. Highly recommend Ella for anyone needing a trustworthy, caring cat sitter!
Absolute pleasure working with Emma, she went above and beyond when we got stuck away from home because of the blizzard. Thank you for braving the snow and the wind to keep them happy and fed! We finally made it home to find happy and well taken care of cats. Thank you so much and we look forward to trusting our cats with you in the future, I'm sure they will be excited to see you again :)

This was my second time asking Susannah to watch my cat. My cat loved her the first time and this time was no different. Susannah was prompt with communication about her visits. She sent photos and made sure my cat got to play, eat, and drink regularly. I have no qualms about Susannah watching my cat and think she would be an excellent sitter for other cats and dogs.
Karen was amazing! Super communicative and reliable - she also went above and beyond in cleaning up when our kitty made a mess and send great photos and videos that helped us feel comfortable and confident in her services. We could tell our kitty appreciated her visits as well!

Mengyao stepped in last minute when our sitter canceled during Christmas. She was incredibly responsive and communicative. She sent lots of great pictures, videos, and updates during her visits. Our pets loved her and were very well cared for. We can’t recommend Mengyao enough! We are looking forward to having her watch our babies again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Readville. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
