“Su was absolutely wonderful with Giro. Giro, that is usually poo shy with new people very quickly felt very comfortable 😃 which is a wonderful sign. Thank you Su! We would definitely love to have you walk Giro again”

“Kim was fantastic! She took the time to meet our dogs beforehand and build trust, especially with one who is very cautious and takes a lot of patience. She went above and beyond in caring for them, and her communication was excellent throughout. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets and animals since as far back as I can remember! Once I got my very own pets (a dog and two cats) outside of my family home, it became a whole new world of understanding what it takes to train and care for fur babies. My sweet Aussie, Poppy, like most, is high-energy and anxious, but getting her at just 8 weeks old gave me the opportunity to dive into the world of dog behaviorism and training. She has come leaps and bounds from the over-excited, reactive pup she was, and the work that goes into helping a dog feel more calm and confident in the world means a lot to me. I've worked with dog trainers and have researched for countless hours to understand how and why dogs and cats behave the way they do to give my own the best lives possible, and I would love to take the same care with your own fur baby! I have a flexible WFH schedule on Mondays and Thursdays, as well as weekend availability, that gives me the opportunity to fit in extra walks / visits with new fur babies! I'm comfortable administering medication, crating dogs, cleaning litter boxes, etc. as needed! If it has to do with the day-to-day for cats or dogs, it's all good with me! I do appreciate detailed instructions to make sure that I take the best possible care to follow the routines you already have in place with your pets :)

About: Looking for my first clients in the area 🐶 Growing up with dogs in the family made me learn how to care for them naturally and see animals as friends. I will be more than happy to know your buddy, make sure they have everything they need, and have amazing moments together. I’m working part time and mostly available up to two hours during the morning and evenings after 5pm. Weekends are flexible with all day availability and flexibility. I always double check any house doors, to make sure it’s safe. Keep them near me in any outdoor environment is a rule, never unleashed or left alone outside. I’ll love to know more about your dogs habits and personality to adjust to their needs, restrictions and expectations.
About: I’ve been around dogs for over a decade—starting with my family dog and now as the owner of a rescue dog of my own. Most of my experience has been with smaller dogs (25 lbs or less), but I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I regularly walk my dog around Newton and Cold Spring Park, and I’m familiar with local dog parks (both fenced and off-leash). I prioritize safe, attentive walks and make sure each dog gets plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection—whether that’s playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and administering oral medication, and I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and gentle care. As a Rover user myself, I know how important trust and communication are. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while your pet is in my care. I’m a great fit for busy working professionals and families who need reliable, thoughtful support, as well as for senior dogs or lower-energy pets who benefit from a calm, consistent environment. To ensure the highest level of attention and comfort, I care for one dog or cat at a time. I work from home most days, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m available for drop-in visits or walks around lunchtime, and again in the late afternoon and evening after the kids are done with school or camp. I enjoy building time into my day to give pets the attention, consistency, and care they need—and making sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I approach pet care with a strong focus on safety, consistency, and trust. I always take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any specific needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and comfortable for them. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of your space and follow all instructions closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, walking routines, medications, or favorite activities. I’m attentive on walks (leash safety, awareness of surroundings) and make sure pets are secure at all times. In my home, pets are cared for in a calm, clean, and supervised environment. I’m mindful of creating a safe space and ensuring pets feel at ease. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for.
About: I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and devoted cat mom. Caring for my own pet has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and attention to detail. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I strive to provide reliable, compassionate care. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away. • Flexible availability on weekdays and weekends. • Morning, afternoon, and evening visits available. • Happy to accommodate your pet’s regular routine whenever possible. • Prompt communication throughout your booking. • Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. • I carefully follow feeding, medication, and care instructions. • Attentive to changes in behavior, routine, and wellbeing. • Regular updates and photos provided with every visit.
“Jana has been fantastic with my elderly dog! She has been very reliable about coming at our agreed-upon time on my one long day away from the house. She gives my elderly dog her meal and takes her for a nice walk around the neighborhood. Jana sends cute photos and summaries of her visit which allow me to feel confident that my girl is being well looked after!”

“Claudia is our routine sitter once a week but truly came through this week when we had extra needs. Claudia is prompt, organized, thoughtful and kind. Our boys love when she comes to walk them. She goes above and beyond for our boys.”

“Leanne is the best you could ever ask for, she’s prompt, kind, and talks you through every step. I can’t recommend her enough! She’ll send lots of pics and shoes so much love to the pups!”

“Scout had a great first week with Aaron - she seemed happy with the walks and very comfortable with him. From the human side, he's a good and responsive communicator, and responsible around scheduling and closing up the house. He clearly loves dogs and has a good way with them. Thumbs up!”

“We’ve been working with Eliza for about a month now, and have nothing but positive things to say! She’s incredibly responsive, reliable, and kind. It’s so wonderful to know Oakley is being taken care of when I am not around.”

About: I’ve had 2 dogs of my own. I’m trustworthy and have a strong connection with dogs. I’ve provided reliable in-home pet sitting and dog walking services. I currently work part time, so I have flexible availability. Best days for me are Monday and Friday. Pet sitting as available and willing to help. I provide care in your home, neighborhood, or secure yard. Please let me know of any possible accommodations for your dog, or other local pets or people they do or don’t get along with.
“Sebastian was great!! Very communicative and friendly. We did a meet & greet prior to his scheduled walk with our pup. It was great for him to get to know our pup’s attitude and high energy. He handled our pup well and gave great feedback on his experience. Already booked Sebastian again!”

About: I have never owned a dog myself, but I have always taken care of my friend’s dogs when they go out somewhere. I also like to know what your dogs like before I take them anywhere, so I can plan ahead on what to do! If you would like to know more about me, let me know! I currently work at an office job, so I am mostly available on the weekends. There are some days in which I can be flexible when house sitting, but it depends on my schedule! If the house sitting is through the weekdays, then I will be able to do so, but I will be out of the house for 7-8 hours. I work from home on Monday and Friday, so I can be more consistent in giving breaks. I make sure that I double check everything around me for safety for the dog and myself. I try to have a schedule with the dogs and make sure that they have everything that they need.
“Julia was great! Totally reliable, pleasant and kind. Our dog can be wary around new people, but he warmed up to her just about instantly. She knows how to work with “nervous” mutts. I’ll definitely request her again if I need a dog walker.”

“Tanya did a great job taking our boxer Nala on daily afternoon walks. She was great at communicating any changes in her schedule with me, flexible to meet my needs to care for Nala, and always polite and professional. Thank you so much for you help Tanya! It was comforting knowing that Nala was in good hands while we were away.”

Although it was her first time meeting Terry, she handled him with ease and took him on a great walk. She made sure he was comfortable by taking short breaks and offering him water when needed. She communicated with me throughout the visit, asked if there was anything else Terry might need, and followed all of my requests. I really appreciated her care and attention to detail.

Taryn was absolutely wonderful! I needed a last-minute walker and she came through without hesitation. She was communicative, punctual, and clearly has a natural way with dogs. I'll definitely be booking Taryn again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy walker!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
