Animal Lover Extraordinaire

Let me take care of your beloved pet(s) as if they were my own. I grew up with a love for animals and have been taking care of others’ pets for decades. I have affectionately been called the “dog whisperer” by some. My calm, loving and perceptive demeanor makes me a good fit for pets of all temperaments. I’ve got lots of energy and love to play and walk with even the most energetic pet. I’m a medical professional and am certified in (human) CPR and knowledgeable in first aid. I’m skilled in working with senior and special needs animals as well as post-operative care. Administering medications is no problem for me. You can feel comfortable with me in your home. I'm very respectful, responsible and conscientious. (RE: COVID-19: The initial "challenges" have changed and, I am well-versed in COVID guidelines/procedures. I am a healthcare professional and have been adhering to precautions since March 2020. I am vaxed and have had boosters.) I am happy to accommodate your request(s) so that you feel comfortable having me take care of your beloved pet(s). I work Monday-Thursday full time so am available for walks and drop-ins on these days after 5p. My schedule is most flexible on Fridays and the weekends. I would be open to having your dog stay in my home for weekend stays. I only take 1 dog at a time (or 2 dogs from the same home). Dogs are allowed on my couch. I have dog beds and the covers are washed after each use as well as dog bowls that are washed after each use. My apologies, as I don't take cats in my home. Being a medical professional, I value honesty, confidentiality, trust and respect. I honor other's requests for their pets and honor my word to others. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Personal references available on request.

Sue was very accommodating when taking care of my cats. One of my cats is very shy and Sue went above and beyond to make sure she was cared for! Highly recommend!

Sue is the best! she’s super caring, thorough and genuinely love our boy! She also took care of our cat on a pretty short notice. I would have her again in a heartbeat.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for a dog in my home, I only keep them on a leash when walking outside or if I go in my (unfenced) backyard, I keep them on a very secure lead with me present. I only take 1 dog at a time (or 2 dogs from the same home). I have pet beds, plenty of blankets and, water and food bowls. They all get washed in the dishwasher or washing machine after each use.

A typical day

It's important to keep to a pet's/dog's routine as much as possible especially with regard to meal times and walks. I love playing fetch. My favorite places to walk are in nature whether in the woods, on trails, etc., and walks in the neighborhood are fine, too.

What is the pet's preference for meal times, walks, etc.? What is the pet's routine? How is the dog around other dogs and people they don't know? Does the dog need to be kept on a short leash around others? (I always keep a dog on a short leash when approaching other animals and people.) Does the dog(s) prefer walks around the neighborhood, going to a dog park or other places? What is the dog's favorite toy(s)?
